Saturday’s finalists were the English Springer Spaniel, Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Of Afrikka Spring Valley Dorian Gray JC, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Camlin Sea Dance Makitso Secretariat, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash Jp Moon Walk, the Dalmatian, CH Perdita’s Absolute Adorable, and the Rough Collie, CH Kelso’s Moon Dancin PT.

Ronald Menaker’s BIS choice was the Skye, the only Skye to win a BIS in the US this year. That’s number three for the long low Terrier.

CH Rivergroves Trump This

On Sunday, the Skye and Toy Poodle were back to see BIS judge John Lawrek. They were accompanied by the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, CH Chesabr Pawprints In The Sand, the Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen, CH Celestial CJ’s hearts On Fire, the Great Pyrenees, CH Rivergroves Trump This, the French Bulldog, CH Petite Cherie Femme Puissance, and the Border Collie, CH Bon-Cyde’s Take One.

BIS went to the Pyrenees, Trump. This DOG2WATCH has been performing like a top ten dog these last few weeks. We suspect he will be one before the year is over. Next up Region Three.

NEW JERSEY CHECKS IN

We had a busy dog show week and we have lot’s of results for you this morning. From Region One, we have the Twin Brooks Kennel Club checking in from Morristown NJ where the club held a pair of shows.

On Saturday Barbara Wood’s final included the ASCOB Cocker Spaniel, CH Carbert Arikara Magic Touch, the Irish Wolfhound, CH Dun Myrica Speaker Of Eagle, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Phillmar Sobe Monster, the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe's Merci Pour Le Poivre, the Maltese, CH Chatterbox Nothin'But, Love, the Standard Poodle, CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Stone Ridge Whol Stop T Rain.

BIS went to the Sealyham, Merci, his sixth this year. With this win Merci and owner/handler Margery Good move into the top 25 all breeds.

Sunday, only the Standard Poodle, Sissy, would make it back to see BIS judge Thomas Nesbitt. Representing the remaining groups were the Vizsla, CH Szizlin's They Call Me Bond, the Smooth Dachshund, CH Pawprint Add-Sim's Kristal MS, the Boxer, CH Hi-Tech's Southern Belle, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Bluebeard's Suddenly Bridey, the Maltese, CH Ta-Jon's Whose Your Sugar Daddy?, and the Briard, CH Deja Vu Up Close & Personal.

It was Dachshund Day, as the country’s number one smooth Doxie walked off with the big rosette. That’s the second BIS for her in the last month. We’ll be back in a moment with Region two results.

The Austin Kennel Club closed the five day party in San Antonio TX today following the trend of several others this week, with a dog winning back to back BIS. This one will not surprise many as Frank Sabella’s choice was the US’ number one dog, the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot. For those keeping score, Sadie has increased her lead over the rest of the field, garnering twice the number of points of most of other top ten dogs.

THE RICH GET RICHER

Well, it may be past the bed time of our east coast readers, but we now have the results of the today’s Jupiter-Tequesta Dog Club show in West Palm Beach FL.

Keeping with this week’s theme of repeat winner’s, judge Paul Willhauck gave the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Riverside Wicked Wonderful, her second BIS of the weekend. Three other Saturday finalists were back with the Corgi, Deidre, the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Bracon’s Leapin Lily Pads, the Afghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado, and the Lhasa Apso, CH Tara Huff Edrey Starbuck. Rounding out the final were the Rottweiler, CH Cammcastle's Hollywood First Lady, the American Staffordshire Terrier, CH Major Legue's U Gotta Believe, and the Miniature Pinscher, CH Marlex Lulin Mojito.

In Palm Beach, the rich always get richer.

BELVIDERE IL BIS

A reader sends us this BIS report. The Norfolk Terrier, CH Max-Well’s Viper has romped home with the top prize from today’s Kishwaukee Kennel Club show in Belvidere. IL. That’s BIS number three for the country’s number one Norfolk. And we have a terrific photo courtesy of Derek Glas.

Dr Lee Anthony Reasin’s BIS choice was the Smooth Collie, CH Sunnland’s Grand Entrance HIC. Among the other finalists were the Spinoni Italiani, Sharpshot Aris, yesterday’s BIS winner, the Basset Hound, CH Topsfield-Sanchu American Express, the Samoyed, CH Polar Mist X-Tasy, and the Pekingese, CH Franshaw’s Hear Me Roar.

It was the second BIS for Greta and handler Diane Steele. We’re betting it won’t be the last.

CJ MAKES IT THREE IN A ROW

Well, it appears that multipile BIS wins are all the rage this weekend. We have a report of yet another dog winning three in a row. The latest comes at today’s Grand River Kennel Club in Madison OH. Judge Mary Lou Kniola tapped the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star as her Best In Show. That’s number 25 for the dynamic duo of CJ and handler Carissa DeMilta Shimpeno.

HAT TRICK IN VERMONT

We have another hat trick to report. The Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins, has picked up his third BIS of the weekend in Essex Junction VT.

Today’s win came under judge Patricia Laurans at the Green Mountain Dog Club. The Beardie, Roy, was joined in the big ring by the Irish Setter, CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed, the Basset Hound, CH Topsfield-Sanchu Pop Art O’Bridi, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Alpenspirit‘s Lion King, the Airedale Terrier, CH Stirling Cool Hand Luke, the Pomeranian, CH Jan-Shar’s Elementary My Dear Watson, and the Tibetan Spaniel, CH Wassong’s Djebel of Lollipop.

We don’t know how long Roy and handler Clifford Steele can keep up this pace, but we know we are enjoying watching.

4 FOR 4 IN MINNESOTA

CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune

Scott Sommer, a Texas resident, decided to bypass San Antonio this week for Duluth MN where the temperatures, and the competition, are not as severe. It appears to be a major coup as Scott and his Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, swept the four Duluth Kennel Club shows amassing four BIS in a row. Scott obviously knows his Texs history and had no intention of reenacting the Battle of the Alamo.

OHIO & MISSISSIPPI BIS

For some reason we have not been getting all of our regular show reports. It seems even AKC and MBF computer geeks get to take a summer vacation. However, our readers never take a vacation from dog shows. So our thanks to the readers who provided us these two BIS reports.

CH Topsfield-Sanchu American Express

In Madison OH, our number two dog all breeds, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, continues to distance herself from the field winning her second BIS of the week at Saturday's Ashtabula Kennel Club show under Jacqueline Stacy. Our schedule did not allow us to stay for BIS yesterday at the Greater Shelby Kennel Club show just down the road from us in Southaven MS. However, a reader did let us know that the Basset Hound, CH Topsfield-Sanchu American Express, accepted the Best In Show from Stephen Hubbell.

It was Timmy’s second Best this year. You may remember Timmy’ sire, CH Topsfield-Sanchu Pop Art O’Bridi, went BIS last week in Massachusetts. Timmy and his sire, Artie, are from the one of the most successful Basset Kennels in history, with over 100 all breed BIS to their credit. Congratulations to Timmy’s breeders/owners Dr Claudia Orlandi, Claire Steidel & Sue Frischmann and handler Bryan Martin.
