From Kalamazoo MI, we hear that the little black steam roller, uh, Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, won the Terrier Group, but not the BIS at Saturday’s Grand Rapids Kennel Club show. However, Sadie, bounced back on Sunday and scooped up the big rosette at the Kalamazoo KC event. And she has another shot at it today at the Greater Muskegon Kennel Club show. Pretty Amazing.

MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY
Today is Memorial Day and AKC’s offices are closed and as such we will not have our usual Monday morning reports. However, we do have reports coming in from our I-Reporters and, after all, that is why you read us.
From Wyoming, we have heard that Judy Doniere chose the Old English Sheepdog, CH Bugaboo’s Georgie Girl, as her BIS at Saturday’s Central Wyoming KC show in Casper. Sunday, the action moved to Laramie WY where the Laramie KC prefers to hold its shows. Murrel Purkhiser had the BIS duty and she used it to give the Best In Show to the Golden Retriever, CH Toasty’s Treasure Island.
Because there are several shows being held today, we expect to have reports coming in later, Check back with us for results. Do take a moment and remember all those who have served in our military. We owe them so much.

CJ IN NJ
We have one more BIS to give you before we call it a night. This one from Freehold NJ where Dr John A Reeve-Neson had the judges book for the Plainfield Kennel Club. His BIS was the Doberman, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton. That’s the second one this weekend for CJ, who stands alone at the top of the Working Group and firmly in the number two all breed spot.
ANOTHER SHELTIE BIS, AGAIN
OK, we make fun of California, we admit it. We lived there for 25 years and loved every minute of it, but we did, in the end, come to our senses and move back to Tennessee, where after ten years we are now approaching a life something similar to normal. The word for California is seductive. The weather is intoxicating. Everytime you get in your car, you are treated to incredible vistas of mountains, trees, and ocean. And the dogs are incredible. Every show you got to there is a collection of spectacular dogs presented in the most impeccable manner.

SALUKI IN PLACERVILLE
We knew if we stayed up late enough we could get you some west coast results and we were right. LaMar Mathis had the judge’s book today in Placerville CA at the colorfully named Hangtown Kennel Club of Placerville CA. For most Californians Placerville is not a destination, but a rest stop on the way to Tahoe. However, for the dog fancy this was the only game for 400 miles this weekend.
The BIS final consisted of the Weimeraner Ch Smokecity Silhouette Dbl Ur Pleasure, the Saluki, DC Jamora High Society SC, the Akita, CH Mojo’s Rock’n Your World, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Abbroath’ Rosewood Rise N’ Shine, the Toy Manchester Terrier, CH Blossom’s Bandit Queen, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Regalia’s O’Gormans Riley, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Skyhi’s Sticks N Stones.
Best In Show went to the sleek Saluki. Congratulations to breeders Joyce Morrison, Suzanne Forsyth, Kim & Mike Anselmo and owners Joyce Morrison, Kim Anselmo, Suzanne & John Forsyth.

SATURDAY SEALY
The show’s been over for hours but we are just hearing that the BIS winner at Saturday’s Monmouth Kennel Club show was the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe’s Merci Pour Le Poivre. For those of you who haven’t been following dogs until this year, Merci is the older brother of CH Efbe’s Hidlago At Goodspice. Not only is Merci Charmin’s full brother. He is also being handled by Margery Good, who showed Charmin to so many memorable wins. We are happy to see Merci preserving the family tradition.
GOLDEN IN SPOKANE
Up in Spokane WA, the BIS at the Spokane Kennel Club went to the Golden Retriever, CH Rush Hill’s River Road Payoff. This is the third BIS this year for this boy, and now we have his photo. Congratulations to breeders Mike & Suzanne Rapier & Tonya Struble and owners Mark & Tonya Struble & Kelsey Dunn.
