YAKIMA VALLEY KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Windbourne HD Ranch King Of The Road

Our final report for the past week comes in from the Pacific Northwest and the Yakima Valley Kennel Club.  The YVKC chose William Usherwood to choose the top two at their Saturday show/  He considered the Vizsla, GCH CH Jaybren's Irish Star, the Black & Tan Coonhound, GCH CH Windbourne HD Ranch King Of The Road, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Arsenal, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Ring of Fire, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Old English Sheepdog, Rian's Wind Beneath My Wings At Nite Wind.

He chose the Coonhound Roy as his Best and the Maltese, Hank, as his Reserve.   Roy is the nation’s Number One Black & Tan Coonhound and the Number Ten Hound.  Roy only gets out about half as often as the Top Two Hounds, but he has four BIS in 11 final appearances, not a bad batting average.

Roy and Hank would be back for another try on Sunday, so would the Doberman, Gunner, the AmStaff, Phoenix, and the Standard Poodle, Ally.  Joining the in Chis Levy’s final were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Fire & Ice, and the Belgian Tervuren, GCH CH Sky Acres Flying Solo.

Striking her fancy were the AmStaff and the Standard Poodle.  It was the first for the Phoenix and handler breeder/owner/handler Ed Thomason this year in seven final appearances.  Congratulations to Ed,  breeder/owner Karen Thomason, co-breeders  Dan Nechemias & Lois Claus, and owners Benjamin Mosing & V Piltz.
