MARION OHIO, DAY TWO

Next we go to Marion OH and the Dan Emmett Kennel Club’s day two show.  Barbara Dempsey Alderman shared her final ring with the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaz'R 'N Wingfield Time Will Tell, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Jarsby’s Mama Mia, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, GCH CH Shandalee Fireworks, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Diva’s Bastille My Heart, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

The two taking the top awards were the Giant, Dora, with the Best, and the Sheltie, Brother, with the Reserve.  Dora is hoping to displace her kennelmate, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, as the Number Four Dog All Breeds.  This win, her 15th of the year, will put her about 900 points closer to that goal.

GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye

The country’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, continued his pursuit of the Number One spot at today’s Greenville Kennel Club show in that South Carolina city.

Challenging Matisse for the win were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Doc N' Camelot's Heaven Can Wait, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner's International S'Cess, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye, the Havanese, GCH CH Yup’s Malibu Dream, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Overtops And The Winner Is, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey. 

Judge Fred Ferris would prefer the Miniature Schnauzer, Justin, for the BIS and the Weimaraner, Nash, for the RBIS.  Justin and handler Bergit Kabel are taking it to the next level with his tenth BIS and his 37 Terrier Group.

First in today is the Providence County Kennel Club which is Kingston RI for the weekend.  Today’s final was in the hands of Michele Billings who chose the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration, as her Best In Show, and the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, as her Reserve Best.

Rounding out her seven were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Bullmastiff, CH Windover’s Hey There Handsome, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket to Ride, the Maltese, CH Ta-Jon Hi Deedle Dee Dee, and the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bella Ridge Imperiale Shady Harbor Mafia Campocovo.

It’s the second BIS in 30 final appearances for Olivia this year.  What’s a girl got to do to get noticed around here?

Anywhere in Pennsylvania one can run into heavy competition and Steven Gladstone’s final in Bloomsburg PA at Friday’s Lackawanna Kennel Club show was a good example.  Judge Gladstone chose his top two from the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH PBJ’s Fearless, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Invercrest Surely Why Not, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

His Best was the Corgi, Libby, and his Reserve, the Bichon, Honor.  Libby is the Number One Cardigan Welsh Corgi and the Number Two Herding Dog with seven BIS and 37 Herding Groups.

Our next report this weekend comes in from Marion OH where the Dan Emmett Kennel Club opened a four day set with Dr Gerard Penta in the final ring.  The seven dogs that joined him were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaz'R 'N Wingfield Time Will Tell, the Treeing Walker Coonhound, GCH CH Alexanders Gold Rush Xcetera, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH True Blue Madonna, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Diva’s Bastille My Heart, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

Collecting the week’s first BIS was the Kerry, pINK.  The country’s Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Giant, Dora, took the Reserve.  It’s the first BIS this year for the country’s Number One Kerry Blue Terrier.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Elaine Randall and handler Leonardo Garcini.

The nation’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, followed his two big wins in Houston last weekend with another today, taking home the top prize at today’s Hendersonville Kennel Club show in Greenville SC.

Joining Matisse in judge Dorothy Collier’s final were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette's All Revved Up, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the RBIS, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Bay, the Papillon, GCH CH Wildfire On The Record, the Bulldog, CH HamItUp Southern Belle, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

Matisse’s 45 BIS of the season puts him 1500 points closer to Number One
