TALLAHASSEE FL DAY TWO

We start today’s results with the day two show of the Greater Panama City Dog Fanciers Association.  Peggy Hauck’ line up consisted of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, the Kuvazs, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Skye Terrier, CH Of Skyeline Captain Hook, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.  

Best went to the Shar-Pei, Jose, her first.  Just 14 months old, you can expect to see this ingĂ©nue here again in these pages  soon.

CHICAGO IL DAY ONE

Before we get into today’s results, let’s tell you about what’s happening in snowy Chi town.  The action in Chicago IL got underway yesterday with the Park Shore Kennel Club’s show.  Keke Kahn had the best of the best to choose her BIS from, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hundeleben Queen's Armada SL, the Siberian Husky, CH Myla 'n Twister's Rocksanne, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH AfterAll Painting The Sky, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogel Flight's "Honor" To Pillowtalk, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim Captain Crunch.  

Her Best was the GWP, Oakley.  The win, Oakley’s sixth of the year, will make Oakley AKC’s Number One Dog All Breeds. 

TALLAHASSEE FL DAY ONE

We awake this morning to find that the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, has started his week where he left off, with another BIS, his fifth in a row this year.   The latest came yesterday in Tallahasse FL where Beckham was Best at the Greater Panama City Dog Fanciers Association show.  

Rounding out Judy Goodin’s final seven were  the Afghan Hound, GCH CH  Criston Enchanted, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria's Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, GCH CH Sundance Second Chance, the Maltese, GCH CH Chrisman's Shiny Toy Gun, the Schipperke, GCH CH De Lamer Pink Flamingo, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.  

Beckham and handler Michael Pitts now have their eighth big rosette of the year.

DES MOINES IA

GCH CH Waterway Game Crk Hot Diggity  

We’ve been waiting to tell you about this past weekend in Des Moines IA & the Cyclone Country Kennel Club Of Ames’ two shows.  On Saturday clay Coady picked his BIS from the American Water Spaniel, GCH CH Waterway Game Crk Hot Diggity, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hendelben Queen’s Armada SL, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Redfield’s Itz My Tyme RN, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Max-Well’s Violet, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Heavenly’s Darling Dana, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Glen Oaks Firekeeper’s Gambler, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.  

It was the rarest among them, the American Water Spaniel, Digger, taking home his first BIS of the year.  Digger is the only AWS to win an AKC all breed show in the last three seasons.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Linda & Jon Hattrem & Pamela Boyer.  

GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence

Sunday Digger, the above named Dachshund,  OES, & Dal, would be back to see .  Rounding out the seven were the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH First Class Syrah D’Hermitage, and the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Xyla’s Party Hat.  Best was the Kuvasz, Tanner.  Tanner and handler Diana Wilson have held down a Top Ten All Breeds spot for the last two seasons.  Their second BIS of the season should keep them in good company.

We’ve just learned that another Maltese has copped a BIS this past weekend.  GCH CH Divine’s A Work of Art was Bradley Jenkins’ Best In Show at the day two show of the Southern Arkansas Kennel Club in Camden AR.  His alternatives were the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Cajun’s A Change Is Gonna Come, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome’s Hitech Innovator, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s ring of Fire, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Shiloh Time for a Good Time, and the Finnish Lapphund, GCH CH Sugarok Casanova.   

It’s the very first BIS for Leo.  Congratulations to breeder Angela Stanberry and owner Kathy Kent.

DENVER CO, DAY FOUR

GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm  

Burton Yamada closed the big holiday weekend in Denver yesterday, selecting the BIS for the day two show of the Colorado Kennel Club.  His options were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Harrier, GCH CH Down-home Hitch Innovator, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Sumerian’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Scottish Terrier, CH Gallia’s Empress Josephine, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla's Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Chinese Shar-Pei, Vaje's Jethrene Bodine, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me And My Shadow Of Corns.  

It was the GWP, Oakley, picking up the back2back BIS and his fifth big rosette of the year.  It's getting pretty crowded up there in the Sporting Group.

As former Maltese breeders/owners/handlers we are delighted to report that the Maltese, GCH CH Chrisman's Shiny Toy Gun, was Irma Fertl’s BIS at the day two show of the Guadalupe Valley kennel Club in San Marcos TX.  Also vying for the win were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH. Clayton's Thrill of Sweet Seduction (full brother to GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction), the 15" Beagle, CH Irish Coffey Mac An Cheana, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Horizon's Evangeline,  the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Lil'Itch Steeplechase, the Tibetan Terrier,  Kimiks Sir Gawain, and the Belgian Sheepdog, GCH CH Mika Beloved Liswyn.  

It’s the first this year for Gunner and handler Tonia Holibaugh.  Congratulations to Tonia, breeders Christopher Vicari and Manny Comitini, and owners Kim and Tony MacKenzie.

SANTA CLARA KC, DAY TWO

It’s day two in San Jose CA for the Santa Clara Valley Kennel Club.  Judith Goodin chose her BIS from the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the 15“ Beagle, CH Cabaret Come Chase The Dream, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Catanya’s Latin Lover, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Perrisblu Kennislain’s Chelsey, the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR Chase What Matters,  the Bichon Frise,  GCH CH PaRay Power & Privilege, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Heatherhill Dazzle Me Montana. 

BIS went to the Kerry Blue, Chelsey. Chelsey was the Terrier Group representative in Tuesday's Westminster final.  Bill McFadden & Chelsey have three BIS already this year and 11 big Terrier Groups.  She has set the mark for the other Terriers to match.

FOUR FOR FOUR

We hear that the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s thrilling Seduction made it a clean sweep of all four shows in Lakeland FL, picking up his fourth of the weekend at today’s Lakeland Winter Haven Kennel Club show.  Frank Washabaugh might have chosen the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Speed Demon, the Bullmastiff, CH Starrdogs Fay Wray Of Silverback, the Skye Terrier, CH Of Skyeline Captain Hook, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, or Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Equinox Ad Astra, but he didn’t.

We have that as Beckham’s 98th career BIS and his seventh of 2012.

THE OTHER CLUB FROM HARTFORD

The Presidents Day holiday has delayed our usual Monday Morning Mop Up, but we do have some results for your.  First, from our nominee for dog club with the most unusual name, the First Company Governor's Foot Guard Athletic Association, we have this.  Sunday’s final in Hartford CT was called by Dr Daniel Dowling. His options were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Kenny’s Rock Star, the Pharaoh Hound, DC Hallaham’s Ethan Allen MC, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Tempet’s M.O. Quinsigamond RN, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me a Spot, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Kimro’s Dora The Explorer, the Schipperke, GCH CH De LaMer Point Break, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Tir Nan Og The Legend Of Banzai Maguire.  

It was the second BIS of the weekend and the second of the year for the Lakeland, Spot.  This Westminster breed winner is certainly riding the crest of the Westminster Wave.

SANTA CLARA KC, DAY ONE

Our last report of the evening comes from our the Santa Clara Kennel Club in San Jose CA, one of our regular stops when we lived in the Bay Area.  Today Col Joe Purkhiser’s final included four dogs with Westminster Group placements, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Catanya’s Latin Lover, and the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Perrisblu Kennislain’s Chelsey.  They were joined by the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR Chase What Matters, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay Power & Privilege, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Hatch Tillie de la Salsa. 

He picked up a BIS in Denver yesterday and added the Santa Clara KC title today.  Today’s win was the Springer’s, Peyton’s, third of the year.  This is going to be a tough year to be a Sporting Dog.

DENVER CO, DAY THREE

GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm  

The Colorado Kennel Club took over as host today in Denver CO and Marcia Feld took over the BIS judge’s book.  Her seven special dogs were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Pharaoh Hound, Mia's Bakhu Risky Business Of Hallam, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Chancellor Flirt’s Hi Flyin’ Gladiator, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Peremi Roll The Dyce, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla's Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Chinese Shar-Pei, Vaje's Jethrene Bodine, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me And My Shadow Of Cornus.  

The GWP, Oakley, collected  a Group Two at Westminster on Tuesday and his fourth BIS of 2012 today.  Oakley is currently the Number Seven Dog All Breeds.  We expect Oakley to be among our top dogs all year.

SPARTANBURG KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari  

The Spartanburg Kennel Club had the final day in Greenville SC and Wendy Willhauck had the final final.  Her choices were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the Greyhound, GCH CH Rubicon’s He’s So Fine, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen’s Holy Knight, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Schipperke, GCH CH De LaMer Pink Flamingo, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nite Song at Morningstar.  

Best went to the Affenpinscher, Joey, who started the week collecting a Group Two behind the eventual Westminster BIS winner.  Today’s win was Joey’s seventh BIS of the year.  

MARYLAND KENNEL CLUB 2

GCH CH McMagic's Candied Ham of Pebbles   

Robert Ennis closed the Maryland Kennel Club’s two day stay in West Friendship MD today.  The seven staying to the end were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Tender is the Night, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry's Foolish Pride, the Samoyed, GCH CH McMagic's Candied Ham of Pebbles Run, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan's Be Bop Baby, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight's Ruffian, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.  

His BIS was Sammie, Candie.  Candie finished 2011 as the Number One Samoyed with three and 27 Working Groups. This week started with a breed win at the Westminster Kennel Club show and ended with her first BIS of the year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Patty McCallum, owner/handler Andrew Green, and owner Amy Green. 

LAKELAND FL DAY THREE

You don’t usually think of hockey and hat tricks when you visit Florida, but that’s what the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, treated visitors to in Lakeland FL this weekend, sweeping the first three days of the four day set.  The latest came today at the Lakeland Winter Haven Kennel Club show in Lakeland FL.  

Also on hand in Madison Week’s final were the Afghan Hound, CH Criston Enchanted, the Samoyed, GCH CH White Magic’s Seasoned Traveler, the Skye Terrier, CH Of Skyeline Captain Hook, the Pug, GCH CH Caper's Sirius Endeavor, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylen’s He’s a Heartbreaker, and the Australia Shepherd, GCH CH Equinox Ad Astra.  Beckham is closing in on the all time BIS record for a Cocker Spaniel with his 97th BIS. 

SOUTH ARKANSAS KC 1

GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style  

The Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, was in West Texas last Sunday picking up her first BIS of the year.  She was in New York on Tuesday to receive an award Of Merit at Westminster, and she was in Camden AR yesterday to collect her second big rosette at the day one show of the Southern Arkansas Kennel Club.  Now that’s a shopping spree that any southern girl would envy.  

Macey and handler Michael Shepherd were challenged in James Fredericksen’s final by the Brittany, GCH CH Ataboy's Dazzle Me Daphne JH FDJ CGN, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Broxden Danea, the Yorkshire Terrier to be named later, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and the Australian Shepherd, CH On The Go Who's That Pumpkin.  

Macey and Michael had six all breed Bests last year.  You can bet they will improve on that this year.
