GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire

The Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, made it two in a row, picking up another BIS at today’s Eastern Dog Club show in West Springfield MA.  Judge Charles Foley also liked the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, more than he did the Komondor, GCH CH Quintessential Chauncey, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CCH Crispy Legacy, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Yarrow's Hi-Tech Ben There Done That, the Schipperke, GCH CH De LaMer Point Break, or the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration.

Riley is the nation’s Number One Sporting Dog and Number Five Dog All Breeds with 24 BIS and 79 Sporting groups.

The Forsyth Kennel Club had day two in Winston Salem NC and judge the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza's My Cherie Amour, the  Whippet, GCH DC Ableaim Que The Music MC, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Ariel Bella Dona, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH An Garda Deja Vu Looking At You, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country's Tag I'm It, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing's Tenzin, and the Finnish Lapphund, GCH CH Lumiturpa Arvi.

Finishing one/two were the Irish Setter, Adele, and the Pug, JJ.  Adele has been turning a lot of heads of late, picking up ten Sporting groups and four RBIS in the last month.  Today’s win brings her 2013 record to two BIS and 14 Sporting Groups.

With just 423 dogs entered today’s Greater Miami Dog Club show is the smallest of today’s offerings.  However its proximity to the coming big week in Orlando has drawn some interesting out of area dogs.

Among judge Eric Ringle’s finalists were the English Setter, GCH CH Aerden’s Pretty in Pink JH, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Regime’s Thriller of Elmo, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan’s Wake, the Sky Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Goodtime Charlie, A ShihTzu from the classes, Tian Mi’s Made To Order Of Yalyan, a Miniature Poodle from the classes, Lavandaire Storybook Dreams, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical's Magical Meemie.

It was the Standard Schnauzer from Indiana, Finn, taking the BIS and the English Setter from Illinois, Kiki, taking the RBIS.  Finn is the country’s Number One Standard Schnauzer and the Number Four Working Dog with six  BIS in 40 trips to the final ring this year.

The last of our Friday reports comes in from Wheaton IL where the Starved Rock Kennel Club did an encore.  Judge DR Robert Smith had the day two final and his choice of the English Setter, GCH CH Stargazr’N Wingfield Time Will Tell, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Jokester, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Broxden Waybroke Halstan Heritage, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla’s Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Litilann’s Showtime, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy of Merivern.

His top two were the Maltese, Hank, and the Standard Poodle, Landon.  Hank is the nation’s Number Five Toy Dog with ten BIS and 53 Toy Groups.  The Chicago area action moves 26 miles northeast to the town of Rosemont IL for today's and Sunday's Skokie Valley kennel Club shows.

The Number One Dog All Breeds, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, added another Best In Show to her 2013 resume, taking the top award at yesterday’s Shoreline Dog Fanciers Association Of Orange County show in Costa Mesa CA, the first of four shows at that site this week.

Judge Ricardo Saldano also liked the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Topaz Bad Action, whom he named Reserve Best In Show.  Rounding out the seven were the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, the Basenji, GCH CH Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin, the Pekingese, GCH CH Dunkirk Imagine That, the French Bulldog, GCH CH LeBull’s El Morocco At LeCirque, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential.

The win, Sky’s 84th of the year, puts sky five BIS behind the season leader, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse.  Nonetheless, Sky leads the pack in dogs defeated by almost 20,000 points.
