THIS AND THAT

CH Sanherpinc Paisa

Now we have some bits and pieces for you. We have heard that the 15” Beagle, Torquay Midnight Confession, was Best at the Fort Doge (IA) Kennel Club’s Saturday show, the Affenpischer, CH Tamarin Tug was tops at today’s Pocatello Kennel Club show in Blackfoot ID, and the Welsh Terrier, CH Sanherpinc Paisa went BIS at the Bahia Sur Kennel Club Of Chula Vista (CA) this afternoon.

CH Starline Chanel

And our little Scottie juggernaut, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, won the 400 plus Terrier smorgasbord hosted by the Great Lakes All Terrier Association in Grays Lake IL today. And just to show you we are not playing favorites with the Terriers, we also heard that the Whippet, CH Starline Chanel was Best at the all Hound hoedown known as the Cascade Hound Association held today in Hillsboro OR.

Aren’t you sorry you weren’t at a dog show today?

BULLDOG BIS

Out in Gridley CA, north of Sacramento, they are already on their third show of the weekend.

CH Globe And Anchor Sgt Iron Mike

Today, the Butte County Kennel Club had Houdton Clark in the BIS ring and he had with him the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH Robin Crest, Charismatic JH, the 15” Beagle, CH Just Right The Full Monty, the Alakan Malamute, CH Catanya’s Latin Lover, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Warfox Double Exposure, the Maltese, CH Delcrost Mark By Design, the Bulldog, CH Globe And Anchor Sgt Iron Mike, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Old West Urban Cowboy Toby.

BIS went to the sour mug, the Bulldog. Sarge. Not yet three years old, this is the first BIS for Sarge. Congratulations to breeders Catherine & Kenneth Brizzi, owners Dave & Doris Boyd and Mike & Virginia, and handler Mike Stone. And we have another great candid photo. (Look at that profile!)

NEW BIS WINNER

Also in Region Three, was the first show of the weekend for the Echo Hill Kennel Club of Ohio in Troy OH.

CH Bodacious In Enemy Territory

Dr Donald Sturz Jr had the BIS book and his finalists were the Weimaraner, CH Liberty’s Dancin In The Moonlight, the Afghan Hound, CH Gengala Nobody’s Bizness, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Skansen’s Sir August Briggs, the Border Terrier, CH Tyrolian Eight Belles AT Meadowlake, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, CH Ayrwen Star Kissed Delight, the Bichon Frise, CH Bodacious In Enemy Territory, and the Briard, CH déjà vu Up Close And Personal.

We see the Bichon all the time in the final seven, but we believe this is the first time Terrance and handler Dennis Brown have taken an all breed BIS. Congratulations to breeders/owners Dan & Glenda Blue & Dennis Brown. Next, we have West Coast results.

WE HAVE A PHOTO!

MBF had three shows going today in Region Three today. The first was the Conewango Kennel Club’s second show of the weekend in Stockton NY.

CH Cat Tales Cat Mandu

Vying for BIS in judge Sonny Ambrosio’s final were the Clumber Spaniel, CH Quail Hollows Gelato, the Saluki, CH Cat Tales Cat Mandu, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Nanuke’s Still The One, the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe’s Merci Pour Le Poivre, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, CH South Fork’s Go For Broke, the Keeshond, CH Quest Stand By Me, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Jesstar Affirmation.

The county’s number one Saluki ran off with the BIS, the second by that breed this year. Unfortunately, we don’t have the first names of any of the breeders (L Hamilton, M Clark & S Hamilton or the owners (H Onto-Murphy, C Murphy, G Neidig & Sabin) or even known who was handling, but we congratulate them all, AND we do have a dandy of a photo (Check out the nonchalant yawn). We have more Region Three reports coming.

ANOTHER BIS WITHOUT A PHOTO

In Region Two, the Southeast Region, we have a two day stand in Waynesville NC courtesy of the Western Carolina Dog Fanciers Association.

CH Sunnyoaks Ready To Rumba

Today the BIS judge was Jean Sheehy and her lucky seven were the Irish Setter, CH Militza’s Strry Starry Night, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendee, CH Rokeena Carte Blanche, the Doberman Ponscher, CH Phillmar Sobe Monster, the Dandie Dinmont, CH Glahms Lady Katherine, the Shih Tzu, CH Yingsu’s Nothin’ To Lose, the Dalmatian, CH Sunnyoaks Ready To Rumba, and the Rough Collie, CH Westwood Alladin.

Today’s BIS went to the Irish Setter, Bridget. This is Bridget’s second Best In Show in the last two weekends. We didn’t have a photo for the first one and, unfortunately, we still don’t have a photo. Hey, we know that it’s North Carolina, but they still have digital cameras. Back in a moment with Region three results.

BACK2BACK FOR DOG2WATCH

The computer staff at Moss Bow Foley (MBF) have been hard a work posting results, so be sure to keep us tuned in for the next couple of hours.

CH Smash Jp Moon Walk

Her finalists were the English Setter, CH Rediwood Red Alert, the Scottish Deerhound, CH Gayleward’s Jaraluv Nike, the Great Dane, McMen’s Mother North Wind’s Christophe, the Miniature Schnauzer, CH Sterling’s Patten Pending, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash Jp Moon Walk, the Standard Poodle, CH Dassin Hillwood De-Lovely, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

Winning back to back BIS was the Toy Poodle, Walker. We named him a DOG2WATCH in January and now he is the number one Toy Dog in the US. We’ll be right back with more results.

LAKELAND BIS IN NY

When we applied to the University of Rochester (NY), we expected that city to be like the New York City metropolitan area. When we checked in freshman year, we were surprised to find upstate New York to be much like our home state of Tennessee, green mountains and valleys full of friendly, somewhat conservative people, just living at decidedly colder temperatures. So we are not surprised in Stockton NY they have a more leisurely approach to reporting show results.

CH Genesis Silverado

Even though the Conewango Kennel Club Show awarded its last rosette several hours prior to the BIS award in Gridley CA, we did not receive their results until two hours after the Shasta Kennel Club. But enough of that, we now know that judge Joseph Gregory’s final seven were the English Setter, CH Esthete’s The Mountain King, the Afghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado, the Alaskan Mala, ute, CH Nanuke’s Stil The One, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Talydale’s Friend Of The Force, the Miniature Pinscher, CH San Spur’s Forty Five Caliber, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Willo’s Caught Ya Lookin’, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, CH Roragyn’s Tuff Enuff.

BKIS went to the 18 month old Lakeland, so new on the scene we could not find a photo of him anywhere. Congratulations to breeder/owner Sheri Smith and handler Michael Kemp.

MORE RESULTS FROM GRIDLEY

CH Catanya’s Latin Lover

We now have the complete report from Gridley CA and the Shasta Kennel Club. In addition to BIS winner, the Elkhound, CH Vin-Melca’s Voyager, judge Richard Reynolds’ finalists were the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH Robin Crest Charismatic JH, the Alakan Malamute, CH Catanya’s Latin Lover, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Slyfox Sneeks A Peek, the Italian Greyhound, CH KC’s Shake Your Groove Thing, the Bichon Frse, CH Mybliss Petite Coquette, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Covy Tucker Hill’s TJR’s Flex RE CD HSAS.

ELKHOUND AGAIN

We have heard that the Norwegian Elkhound, CH Vin-Melca’s Voyager, has just picked up his second BIS in two days. This one comes at the Shasta Kennel Club’s second show of the weekend in Gridley CA. We’ll be back in a few with the names of the other finalists and the judge.

PHALAENE BIS

We have an I-Reporter on site at the Little Fort Kennel Club Of Waukegan show in Grayslake IL.

CH Arkeno’s Ears To You

She tells us that judge Robert Hutton’s finalists were the Irish Setter, CH Vineyard’s Bad Boy, the American Foxhound, CH Kiarry’s Foolish Pride, the Samoyed, CH Polar Mist X-Tasy, the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, the Papillion, CH Arkeno’s Ears To You, the Standard Poodle, CH Bar-None Dawin Travelin’ Man, and the Bearded Collie, CH Dunhill Inspiration.

BIS went to the smallest dog in the ring, the Papillion, Cobb. This poster child for the phalaene, the drop ear version of the butterfly dog, has been knocking off the toughest competition in Toy Groups all year, and now has two all breed BIS this year. Congratulations to breeders/owners Kim McKay & Murray Berg, co-breeder James Barnes, co-owners Salwa Alfadl & Mary Jo Loye, and handler John Oulton.

IT'S WALKER IN NEW ENGLAND

Today’s BIS puts the Toy Poodle, Walker, Back on top of the Toy Group, but then the weekend has just started.

FAMILIAR FACE IN GRIDLEY

The Shasta Kennel Club was first out of the gate in Gridley CA, some 60 miles north of Sacramento in Northern California. The judge for day one of four was Robert Matchett..

CH Vin-Melca's Voyager

He chose his BIS from the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Geronimo’s flying Calypso, the Norwegian Elkhound, CH Vin-Melca’s Voyager, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Aviators Luck Be A Lady, the Miniature Schnauzer, CH Regency's Good To Go, the Maltese, CH Delcost Marc By Design, the Bulldog, CH Globe And Anchor Sgt Iron Mike, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Rohan’s Reward HT CD RA.

BIS went to the latest charge of the legendary breeder/owner/ handler Patricia V Trotter. Although her AKC judging assignments don’t allow her to show as frequently as some, Pat has still managed to pilot the four year old to the top of his breed. Congratulations, Pat!

Our I-Reporter in Idaho checked in today from Blackfoot ID where the Eagle Rock Kennel Club presented the first of their two shows.

Ch J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice

The BIS judge was Judy Doniere and her seven were the Brittany, CH Copley Can Do Magnum Opus Grand Sam, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, CH Afterglow Ebeneezer, the Akita, CH Mojo’s Rock’N Your World, the Smooth Fox Terrier, Ch J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Affenpinshcer, CH Tamarin Tug, the Bichon Frise, CH, PaRay Rime Time, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Shoal Creek’s Sangria V Barick.

ANOTHER NORFOLK BIS

The Olean Kennel Club kicked off a four day stand today in Stockton NY, about 60 miles southwest of Buffalo. Today’s judge was Robert J. Moore and he had a few names unknown unknown to most of us.

CH Cerise Jesse James

They were the English Springer Spaniel, CH Cerise Jesse James, the Plott, CH Alexanders Mob Boss Capone, the Boxer Ch Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Norfolk Terrier, CH Venerie’s Regatta Dr. Who, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, CH South Fork’s Go For Broke, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Meryway’s Midnight Magic Myst, and the German Shepherd Dog, Imp-Cen’s National Treasure.

And it was one of the lesser know names going BIS, the Norfolk. Congratulations to breeders/owners Pam Beale, Pam Dzuik, Ed Dzuik, & Roxanne Stamm. And, yes, that’s the Springer’s photo because we have no photo of the Norfolk.

MORE IDAHO RESULTS

Last night we told you about another BIS by DOG2WATCH, the Bouvier, Webber. Here are his fellow finalists from the Snake River Valley Kennel Club show yesterday.

CH Paragon's Red Red Wine

BOUVIER ON A ROLL

CH Avalon Frontier SleepnLady Webber

If you are not a daily reader, then you may not know what a whirlwind this dog has been riding. We first took note of the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier SleepnLady Webber, when he started winning groups in April. Then just a month ago he won his first Best In Show. All of this has been accomplished against some of the toughest competition anywhere. Today he recorded his sixth BIS. This one came today at the Snake River Valley Kennel Club’s second show in Flier ID with Jon Cole making the call.

Congratulations to breeder/owner Sherrod McDaniel, co-breeder David & Lee Calhoun, co-owners Judith McConnell, June Guido, & Suzanne Garcia, and owner/handler Larry Fenner. We recommend they all fasten their seat belts for this ride.

MORE SHOWS COMING

We got so wrapped up with our statistics today, we totally forgot to tell you about this coming week’s shows. We’ve already told you about the six shows in Idaho and gave you the results of yesterday’s show in Filer ID.

Feather River Canyon near Gridley CA

While Idaho certainly has the most shows, there are other clusters available to fanciers. There are four day stands starting tomorrow in upstate New York and northern California, the former in Stockton NY courtesy of the Olean & Conewango Valley Kennel Clubs, the latter in Gridley CA hosted by the Shasta & Butte County Kennel Clubs.

If you want a long weekend, but not that long, there are three show weekends in Topsfield MA, offered by the North Shore & Middlesex County Kennel Clubs, and in Grayslake IL presented by the Little Fort Kennel Club Of Waukegan, the Great Lakes All Terrier Association, & the Chain O'lakes Kennel Club. Yes, we know the GLATA us a limited breed show, but we think it‘s worth mentioning.

For those of you who are lucky enough to have regular jobs that still gives you the whole weekend off, there are two day events in Ludwig Corners PA, Waynesville NC, Troy OH, Traverse City MI, Fort Dodge IA, Gray Summit MO, Texarkana AR, and Chula Vista CA.

I’m afraid we folks in the South have few choices this weekend, but the rest of you have lot’s to choose from. So visit an AKC dog show this weekend…and send us results!

AKITA IN IDAHO

We warned you that this weekend’s shows started today. Betcha didn’t think we would have results this early. But that’s why you read us.

CH Mojo’s Rock’N Your World

Today‘s show was in Filer ID courtesy of the Snake River Valley Kennel Club with Roger Hartinger getting the first crack at BIS. Idaho isn’t really convenient to anywhere, but the club managed to draw seven finalists from all over the country. They were the Golden Retriever, Ch Toasty’s Treasure Island, the Afghan Hound, CH Polo’s the Aviator, the Akita, CH Mojo’s Rock’N Your World, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Vigilante Justice, the Affenpinscher, CH Tamarin Tug, the Keeshond, CH Shamrock’s Captain Stormalong, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier Sleepnlady Webber.

The first BIS of the week goes to the country’s number one Akita, Coupe, his second this year. Looks like we are in for an exciting week.

MOBERLY MO RESULTS

We’ve been holding out waiting for the full results from the Moberly (MO) Kennel Club‘s two shows this past weekend and now we have them. Alas we do not have photos of the winning dogs. This editorial note, if you have a dog that has been consistently placing in the group send us a digital photo at bill38112@aol.com. You never know when you might be one of our faceless BIS winners.

CH Kylene Eden The Dragonslayer

Saturday, Dr Ronald Spritzer’s finalists were the Weimaraner, Win'Weims Reap The Wild Wind V Ydoc, the Smooh Dachshund, CH Pawprint Add-Sims Kristal MS, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Summits Lord Greystoke V Loriendell, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Plum Creeks Di's Amazing Grace, the Maltese, CH Seabreeze Caribbean Sun Calling, the Bichon Frise, CH Risgae Miabella Sweet Georgia, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Kylene Eden The Dragonslayer.

BIS went to the country’s number one Smooth Dachshund. Just two years old, this girl has been knocking on the door all year and now she has her first BIS. Congratulations to breeder Sharon Vargty and owners Cliff Simones & Robbie Addison.

CH Risgae Miabella Sweet Georgia

Sunday The Doxie, the Maltese, and the Bichon were all back to see BIS judge Mildred Bryant. Also asking for the top prize were the Golden Retriever, Claircrest Dreamweaver, the Great Dane, Nanpar Windy Cochise V Vindane, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, CH Schooners Spirit Of Sherman, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Briarbrooks Medallion Of Merit CGC.

Earlier this weekend, we had a Skye Terrier go BIS and now we have a Dandie, one of the dog world’s most whimsical breeds. This five year old dog has been out promoting the breed for a couple of years, but we believe this is his first BIS. Congratulations to breeder.owner Peggy Carr and co-owners Brad & Sharon McDannald.

AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH

We awake this morning to find that the results from the Flagstaff (AZ ) Kennel Club shows were not dropped in the nearby Grand Canyon, but were belatedly forwarded to the AKC.

CH Coventry Vanity Fair

Saturday, judge Denise Dean went over the English Setter, CH Esthette’s Claudette Monet JH, the 13" Beagle, CH Jaberwoki’s Le Jazz Hot, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Mountainair’s Genuine Draught, the Miniature Schnauzer, CH Allaruth Solebay Chipotgoldblok, the Affenpinscher, CH Tamarin Tug, the Lhasa Apso, CH Charles The hacker, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Coventry Vanity Fair.

Once again, the Corgi, Carly, came up with the BIS. As we told you here, this holdover from the 2008 top ten has been quietly making her way up in the top 25 all breed. Could she repeat a top ten finish?

CH Mountainair’s Genuine Draught

Sunday, the Beagle, the Bernese, the Affenpinscher, and the Lhasa would all come back to see judge Patricia Trotte. The remaining finalists were the Irish Setter, Avon Farm Tommy Bahama, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Arbroath’s Rosewood Rise N’ Shine.

BIS went to the Bernese, Miller. The three year old does not come down often from the 7300 high mountain where he lives outside of Albuquerque NM, but when he does he usually makes a splash. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Darcy Babb.

WEEKEND STARTS TOMORROW IN IDAHO

We know we normally wait until Wednesday to give you coming attractions, but we need to give you a heads up on a kind of cluster beginning tomorrow.

Blackfoot ID

There are six shows coming up in Idaho this week. We know, if you ever were going to be enticed to go to a place more know for white supremacists than dog shows, this is the week. The Snake River Valley Canyon Kennel Club Of Idaho kicks it off tomorrow with two shows in Filer, then the action moves 150 miles to the east where the Eagle Rock and Pocatello Kennel Club will team up for four more shows.

We have already heard that there will be some heavy competition on the circuit. So if you want to take in some glorious landscapes and see some spectacular dogs, consider a family trip to Idaho. And that white supremacists thing, just in TV movies.

JUST IN FROM VA

From our I-Report in Harrisonburg VA we have this on the Shenandoah Valley Kennel Club’s show today.

CH Reidwood Red Alert

Dr Albert Bianchi was the BIS judge and his finalists were the English Setter, CH Reidwood Red Alert , the Wire Haired Dachshund, CH Glen Eagle’s Who’sFamous Now, the Great Pyrenees, CH Rivergroves Gtrump This, the Sealyham /Terrier, CH Efbe’s Merci Pur Le Poivre, the Havanese, CH Los Perritos Shallowbrook Heir I Am, the French Bulldog, Bandog’s Bayou The Rising Sun, and the Border Collie, CH Sportingfiels Reflections O Borderframe.

BIS was the English Setter, Navy. Although this outstanding dog has won more groups than any other of his breed this year, this is his first all breed BIS. Congratulations to breeders Nancy E Warner & Clifford & Iris Reid, owner Georgette Perry, and handler Candy Carswel

WEEKEND REPORT REGION SIX

From Region Six, the Northwest Region, we were able to give you complete reports from Vallejo CA over the weekend, but up to now, we have heard nothing from the Puyallup Valley Dog Fanciers and their two shows in Puyallup WA .

CH Sky Acres Spy Plane

On Saturday, judge Louis Bond saw the seven dogs that bested 1500 others. They were the Pointer. CH Coralwood Valcopy Swith Hitter, the Black & Tan Coonhound, CH Silver Ridge Showtyme At Windbourne, the Rottweiler, CH Rojan's Pirates Gold, the Scottish Terrier, CH McVan's Trip The Light Fantastic, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, CH Cheri-A's Lord Leopold, the Dalmatian, CH Paisley Elan Special Effects, and the Belgian Tervuren, CH Sky Acres Spy Plane.

BIS went to a breed rarely known outside the dog fancy, the Tervuren, Spy. This one is well known in our world, having won two all breed BIS before this one.

CH Silver Ridge Showtyme At Windbourne

Sunday, Susan Carr got to see Spy, the same Coonhound, and Toy Spaniel, along with the Brittany, CH VEM Country Mile, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Danora's Legacy Deal, the Miniature Bull Terrier, Temris Bully For Me, and the French Bulldog, CH Highwood's Big Shot. Her BIS was the dog with the long, long hears and the big, big voice, the Coonhound. This is the third BIS for the country’s number one Coonhound in the last ten days.

We are still waiting for results on the Flagstaff AZ shows and will bring those to you as soon as we have them.

WEEKEND REPORT REGION FIVE

We had two sites, 1100 miles apart, in Region Five, the South Central Region. The first is Lake Charles LA where the Calcasieu Kennel Club hosted a pair of shows.

CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman

Saturday the judge was James Frederickson and his finalists were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH K-J's Othello, the Afghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Camlin Sea Dancer Makitso Secretariat, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Pekingese, CH Franshaw Hear Me Roar, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Elite's By Design, and the Rough Collie, CH Sylvan Argent Simply Irresistible.

His BIS was the twice as long as high Terrier, the Skye. Skyes get over looked (and yes, we have tongue firmly planted in cheek) by a lot of Terrier enthusiasts, but one this good will always get noticed. He’s the only Skye to win a BIS this year and now he has two. Congratulations to breeds/owners Eugene Zaphiris & Matthew Stander and handler Lawrence Cornelius.

CH Donnchada Sweet Dreams

Sunday, Buddy was back in the final ring with judge Edd Bivin the Afghan, the Peke, and the Collie. The newcomers were the Pointer, CH Penpoint's In Dress Blues, the Mastiff, CH Lazy D's Southern Gentleman, and the Standard Poodle, CH Donnchada Sweet Dreams.

And it was the big Poodle, Patsy, running away with the BIS. Because we’ve had one spectacularly great Standard on the scene the last couple of years, some have forgotten that we have several great Standards out. This one is, indeed, a dream.

CH Bugaboo’s Georgie Girl

Meanwhile the Colarado Springs (CO) Kennel Club gave as two shows this weekend. We gave you Saturday’s results over the weekend. Sunday, judge C P Heredeen, had mostly familiar names in his final, the Golden Retriever, CH Toasty’s Treasure Island, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Spyglass;s Leend Of Bahia, the Kerry Blue, CH Kallehan’s Hot N Spicy Of Jorkaite, the the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Orchard Hill Shirmont Backtalk, the Lhasa Apso, CH Rushmar’s Charmer, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Bugaboo’s Georgie Girl.

BIS went to the bobtail, her fourth this year. We are lucky to have two OES winning BIS in two different parts of the country. Hopefully, you will get to see one or the other this year.

We still hve more results coming.

WEEKEND REPORT REGION FOUR

We only had a glimpse of Region Four, the North Central Region, over the weekend. We gave you the BIS winners from the Wheaton (IL) Kennel Club shows, but we didn’t have the other finalists.

CH Topsfield-Sanchu American Express

On Saturday, BIS winner the Cavalier, CH Mondiran VH Lamslag, was joined in Patricia Lapinski’s final by the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, CH Sandbar’s Stock Exxchange, the Basset Hound, CH Topsfield-Sanchu American Express, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Abadie’s Crystal Vision, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Cornerstoen Solioquy, the Lhasa Apso, CH Northwind Nothing But Trouble, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Quiche’s Demitrius.

CH Cedar C & Barnstorm’s Ltd Edition

On Sunday, judge Pamela Peat went over the English Springer Spaniel, CH Tiffany Esspecial Imagery, the Saluki, CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles Of Jatara, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Sno Klassic Play The Game, the Miniature Schnauser, CH Rampage Triple Crown, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Cedar C & Barnstorm’s Ltd Edition, and the Bouvier before choosing the Pug, CH Tupelo ShoBoat Tu China Tu, as her Best In Show.

CH Carrera Strike The Gold

Up in Jordan MN, they were having record low temperatures at the Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club’s shows. On Saturday judge Steve Hurt’s seven were the Golden Retriever, CH Carrera Strike The Gold, the Afghan Hound, CH Kassan’s Windwalker Of Skyview, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Jenda’s Hail The Queen, the Norfolk Terrier, CH Max-Well’s Viper, the Havanese, CH Heartland’s Rumor Has It, the Dalmatian, CH Paisley Nspird By Broadway, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Limerick’s Shakespeare.

Grabbing the heavy silver was the Golden, Albert. Better known as a sire than a current star of the show ring, this is the five year old’s first BIS this year. Congratulations to breeder/owner Jan Draper.

CH Jenda’s Hail The Queen

Sunday, Albert was back with the Bernese, the Norfolk, and the Bouvier. Also vying for judge Anne Fleming’s attention were the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Tji-Wara’s Distant Drums, the Pomeranian, CH Velocity’s Shake Ur Bon Bon, and the Bichon Frise, CH Height’s WWW.COM. What’s more appropriate on a cold day that a Bernese BIS? We haven’t seen much of this three year old girl, but she has two BIS in very limited showing. We tip our hat to breeder/owner/handler Jeni West.

Region Five Results up next.

WEEKEND REPORT REGION THREE

We are ready to move on to the Great Lakes Region, Region Three. Over the weekend we gave you complete results on the Michigan shows and a peek at the Kentucky shows, but we have talked about the McKinley Kennel Club shows in Canton OH.

CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely

Saturday, Keke Kahn made the BIS call from these seven, the Golden Retriever, CH Goldentrip Snow Dream, the 15” Beagle, CH Windkist's Stealin Hearts, the Boxer, CH Avalon's Urban Legend, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Talydales Friend Of The Force, the Papillon, CH StarSighn's Trickn St Nick, the Standard Poodle, CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely, and the Puli, CH Catsun Corinth.

Her BIS was the Poodle, Sissy. Admittedly we don’t really know how to refer to this girl. So we will just say it this way. She is the top Standard currently competing every weekend. How’s that. She’s officially the number one Non-Sporting Dog. We look for her to improve her top twenty standing every month.

CH White Eagle's Celestial Sky

Sunday, it was Paula Hartinger in the final ring with the Sissy and the same Golden and Lakeland. Also on hand were the Pharaoh Hound, TiaRa Ne-Ne-Kabu Abu Simbel Ankh, the Samoyed, CH White Eagle's Celestial Sky, the Smooth Chihuahua, CH Ayrwen Star Kissed Delight, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Fallfires Frist Frost.

Best In Show went to the Samoyed, Celeste. Now, Celeste doesn’t have as many breed points as some Sammies and she doesn’t have as many groups as others, but she has the most all breed BIS of any in her breed. Which would you rather have?

CH TMC Victorious Natasha For Sissy

Now, about those Paducah KY shows. Saturday, it was Elaine Mathis with the English Springer Spaniel, CH Capulets Innovation, the Irish Wolfhound, CH Highgates Andrew Of The Ridge, the Rottweiler, CH TMC Victorious Natasha For Sissy, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, the Pomeranian, CH Castiles Endless Love, the Standard Poodle, CH Bar-None Dawin Travelin Man, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Jesstar Affirmation.

BIS went to one of the most popular red heads since Lucy, the Lakeland, Ranger. She is currently the country’s number three Terrier and number 15 all breed dog.

CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune

We told you that the Smooth Collie, CH Sunnland's Grand Entrance HIC, was Ellen Fetter’s BIS on Sunday, but we didn’t tell you the other finalists were Ranger, the Wolfhound, the English Springer Spaniel, CH Capulets Innovation, the Great Dane, KCWW V Mariners Skookum Chuck, the Pug, CH Brazos River Legal Lion, and the Bulldog, Benchmarks Murphy Brown Of Chenoweth.

Next, we have Region Four.

WEEKEND REPORT REGIONS ONE & TWO

We’ve had the pleasure of being introduced to some new dogs this weekend, but in Region One, the Northeast Region, most of our finalists were familiar faces.

CH Riverside Wicked Wonderful

On Sunday in Yorktown Heights NY judge Carl Gomes had BIS duty for the Longshore-Southport Kennel Club. His finalists were the Vizsla, CH Cinnabar's Sasco Finale, the Irish Wolfhound, CH Dun Myrica Speaker Of Eagle, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Foxlorr Double Dare, the Papillon, CH Arkeno's Ears To You, the French Bulldog, CH Shore Lookin' Good, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Riverside Wicked Wonderful.

BIS went to the number two dog in the US, the Dobernan, CJ. She has begun to open a substantial lead on the field trailing her, although she trails the number one dog, by 20,000 points.

Meanwhile in Region Two, the Southeast region, we have one more show to report out. We did tell you late lat night that the Whippet, CH Sporting Field's Bahama Sands was Dana Cline’s BIS at the Ashville Kennel Club’s Sunday show.

IT'S A WHIPPET IN ASHVILLE

CH Sporting Fields Bahama Sands

We have another BIS winner to report. A fellow Whippet fan tells us that the Whippet, CH Sporting Fields Bahama Sands, accepted the Ashville Kennel Club’s top award from Dana Cline today.

BOUVIER BEST AGAIN

We admit that we expected one dog to dominate the shows in Vallejo CA, just not this one.
