MEMORIAL DAY WEEK

Mother and Child at Arlington National Cemetery

We have barely recovered from this past week’s dog show feast, when we realize that this week is even bigger.  We will have a staggering 48 all breed shows this week in 14 locations.  If you are into four day, all inclusive, vacations, you will love this week.  We have eight four day clusters and one five day cluster to offer!  If you have the stamina, head to New Castle PA which five shows beginning Thursday.  With a total 7,146 entries these shows are sure to draw many of the top ranked dogs in the US and could prove to have a major impact on our top twenty-five.  You can thank the Laurel Highlands Kennel Association, Trumbull County Kennel Club, and New Castle Kennel Club for this dog show banquet.

If you can’t get your coals to New Castle, you can settle for a Friday Through Monday, four day stay in Freehold NJ, Hampton VA, Hamilton OH, Kalamazoo MI, Bloomington IL, Tulsa OK, or Pomona CA.  You can also do four in Wyoming, but you will have to spend Friday & Saturday in Casper and then motor on down to Laramie for Sunday & Monday.  Out in the Northwest they will spend Saturday & Sunday in Spokane WA before setting up the grill in Coeur D’Alene ID on Monday.  Three day weekends are also on tap for Northern Californians in Placerville CA and Alaskans in Fairbanks AK.  Our lone two day weekend is in St Peter MN.

Wherever you are this weekend, take a moment and remember the selfless men and women who have served in our country’s armed services.  We have the freedom to enjoy our sport because of their sacrifice.
