BIS WINNER RETURNS TO WIN

We have not had the Basenji, GCH CH Signet Meisterhaus Gossip Girl, on our pages since 2012, when GiGi was the Number One Basenji. GiGi is now six years old and back winning BIS, capturing the top prize at Friday’s Mid-Del-Tinker Kennel Club show. 

GCH CH Cambria’s Above And Beyond 

Judge Marjorie Martorella also named the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria’s Above And Beyond, her RBIS after considering the Pointer, GCH CH Chesterhope Honour N Glory, the Colored Bull Terrier, GCH CH Glentom’s Dirty Harry, the Pomeranian, CH Legenz Here Comes The Boom, the French Bulldog, GCH CH JCRV-Klasse Warrior Raising The Banner, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Travler Kelise Overdrive. 

It was the first BIS this year for GiGi. We bet it won’t be the last. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Brenda Cassell, breeder/owner Tad Brooks, breeder Joseph Hurt, and owners Edna Johnson & Sandra Middlebrooks.

SHELTIE BIS IN NEBRASKA

GCH CH Thunderhill’s Apple Bottom Jeans 

The Scottsbluff Kennel Club opened a three day set in Mitchell NE Friday and asked judge Bill Shelton to name his top two dogs. He chose the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Thunderhill’s Apple Bottom Jeans, as his BIS and the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, after considering the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, the Mastiff, GCH CH Friends Sargeant Breakthrough, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Janwell Midnight Ryder, and the Keeshond, GCH CH Trumpet’s No Questions Asked.

It was the second BIS in three trips to the final ring this year for the Sheltie, Bindi, and breeder/owner/handler Michelle Miller.

ROTTWEILER BEST IN WISCONSIN

Ruth Zimmerman named another Working Dog, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Gamegards I'll Have Another V Braeside RN, her Best In Show Friday at the hometown Manitowoc County Kennel Club show in that Wisconsin town.

We suppose judge Zimmerman might have chosen the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Pants on Fire, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Bonitos Companeros Dow Jones, the RBIS, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Merry Go Round Coach Master, or the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Serenity’s Walk In The Park, but she didn’t. 

It was the first BIS in eight final appearances this year for Indie and owner/handler Holley Eldred. Congratulations to Holley and breeders Listle Friede, Vicky O’Brien, Vicky Weaver & Dr G Bach

BOXER BEST IN NORTH CAROLINA

GCH CH Mephisto’s Speak of the Devil 

Now that the Top Working Dog in AKC history has left the regular show circuit, the battle for Number One Working Dog of 2015 is in full swing. The Boxer, GCH CH Mephisto’s Speak of the Devil, picked up another BIS Friday at the Columbia Kennel Club show in Concord NC.

 Challenging Devlin for judge Joyce Manton’s attention were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don't Tell, the RBIS, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Raydachs Ride My Ducati Sw, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Wolverine, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Martini’s Jameson Nightcap, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Majestic Elite Clever Endeavor PT. 

Devlin is the Number One Working Dog and Number Seven Dog All Breeds with seven BIS in 16 trips to the final ring this year.

PEKE REPEATS IN SYRACUSE

GCH CH Pequest General Tso 

The Pekingese, GCH CH Pequest General Tso, made it two in a row, picking up the BIS at Friday’s Onondaga Kennel Association show in Syracuse NY. 

GCH CH Goldleaf's Trouble Coming CGC 

Joining the General in judge Ken Buxton’s final were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Starlight Express, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Stonewall Jackson, the RBIS, the Mastiff, GCH CH Goldleaf's Trouble Coming CGC, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Foxhaus Skyfall At Foxhollow, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Gala Brighton Lakeridge Reflections Of Me, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Signatures Harry Nile V Kridler. 

The win, the General’s sixth BIS in 21 final attempts this year, will make him the nation’s Number Three Toy Dog.

The German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus Rumor Has It v Kenlyn, is in Manitowoc WI this weekend to defend her Number One Dog All Breeds status, starting the four day set with a BIS.

Challenging Rumor for judge Norm Kenney’s favor were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Tramore Notorious, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Daybreak’s Blossoms And Bows W, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo's Continuation Of A Myth, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Pants On Fire, the RBIS, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, and the Dalmatian, GCH CH Merry Go Round Coach Master. While 

the Number Two Dog gained some ground on Rumor last week, Rumor still leads all dogs with 16 BIS and 34 Herding Groups.

Charlotte Patterson was in Concord NC Thursday to call the BIS for the Columbia Kennel Club. Her seven options were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don't Tell, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Raydachs Ride My Ducati Sw, the Boxer, GCH CH Mephisto’s Speak of the Devil, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Bronwyn He’s A Heartbreaker, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotted Bliss Oreo Delight, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Majestic Elite Clever Endeavor PT.

Going to the head of the line was the Dachshund, Ducati, followed by the Setter, Teller. It was the second BIS of the year for Ducati, who finished 2014 with one BIS and 17 Hound Groups. Congratulations to breeders/owners Shirley Ray & Neal Glaser and handler Adam Peterson.

PEKE BEST IN SYRACUSE

The Central New York Kennel Club opened a four day set in Syracuse NY on Thursday, asking judge Pat Mowbray-Morgan to take the day one final. The seven dogs that joined her were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Shannon’s Celebration at SpringRun, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Lacey’s Deck Plate Leader, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Crusade Rocky Crystal, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Foxhaus Skyfall At Foxhollow, the Pekingese, GCH CH Pequest General Tso, the Coton de Tulear, CH Mi-Toi’s Burberry At Justincredible CM, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical’s My Turn. 

Her Best was the Peke, General Tso, and her Reserve the GSP, Ceely. The General is this year’s Number Six Toy Dog with five BIS and 20 Toy Groups.

She chose her top two from the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly handsome, the Basset Hound, GCH CH By U Cals Monkey On The Bayou, the Great Dane, GCH CH Journey's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Overtop Niort, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Just a Little Crush.

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up in Edison NJ where the Samoyed, GCH CH Pebbles' Run Play It Again Ham, posted back2back BIS. Sunday’s win came at the Bronx County kennel Club under judge Dr Francisco Chapa. 

GCH CH Invercrest Gotcha Girl 

Challenging Bogey for the win were the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Dawnglow Knight Rider, the Saluki, GCH CH Takara The Time Is Now, the RBIS, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Invercrest Gotcha Girl, the Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Sanchi Pleasant Surprise, the Lowchen, GCH CH Bihar’s Defying Gravity, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Stonepillar’s Steel Blu. The win, Bogey’s third in nine final attempts this year, gives us a real race for Number One Working Dog.

This week’s breakout performance goes to the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Sabe’s Simply Invincible, who picked up his second consecutive BIS today at the Oakland Kennel Club show in Vallejo CA. 

GCH CH Hijinx This Is How I Roll 

Judge Don Sutton chose Vinny after considering the Brittany, GCH CH Sanbar’s Ride The Winds, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Sleepy Hollow Carolina Special, the RBIS, the Boxer, GCH CH Hijinx This Is How I Roll, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Absolutely Stand Back Look Out, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Northwell Vivian Jp Rose Queen, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Wind Spirit Rod’s Amazing Grace. 

The two wins, worth over 3000 points will put Vinny among the top Non-Sporting Dogs this year.

SKYE MAKES IT FOUR IN A ROW

The Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, thoroughly dominated the week, sweeping all four shows in Jackson TN.

Today Charlie was judge Pat Trotter’s BIS over the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don't Tell, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Regime’s Thriller Of Elmo, the RBIS, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo's Continuation Of A Myth, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Hilltop’s GQ Cover Boy, the Bulldog, GCH CH Wilson's I'm Your Handyman, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv’s Sultry Sensation. 

Charlie starts the new week as the Number Three Dog All Breeds with 12 BIS, six RBIS, and 26 Terrier Groups.

Judge Betty-Anne Stenmark closed the five day set in Raleigh NC by naming the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza’s My Cherie Amour, Best In Show at today’s Fayetteville Kennel Club show. Her RBIS was the Saluki, GCH CH Baghdad Eleganza Extravaganza.

Rounding out her seven finalists were the Boxer, GCH CH Mephisto's Speak Of The Devil, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsand's Billie Jean, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the Bulldog, GCH CH Imperious HamItUp Southern Bell, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus' Rumor Has It V Kenlyn. 

It was the Setter Adele’s second BIS of the set and her fourth of the year. All four of the BIS have come in the last two weekends. We think this redhead is a Dog2Watch. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Ken Wall, breeders/owners Tracy McNeal & Roger McNeal & Joel Fisher DVM, and breeder Nancy Godbey.

ENGLISH SPRINGER BEST IN FLORIDA

Today’s final at the Suwannee Valley Kennel Club of Florida in Lake City was truly a local affair with six of Floridian judge Karen Ashe’s finalists coming from the Sunshine State. The English Springer Spaniel from Connecticut, GCH CH Cerise Blindside, joined the Irish Wolfhound, GCH CH Carnasserie Dancing Embers Of Greycastle, the Black Russian Terrier, GCH CH Malahovskiy Graf Rossiyskiy, the Welsh Terrier, CGH CH Brynmawr 'N Seaplume's Built Tough, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Kaylen’s Kahlua, the Miniature Poodle, CH Clarion Karadale Better Together, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Sylvan Argent Hollywood and Vine, in the final ring.

Judge Ashe’s BIS was the Springer from New England, Timmy, and her RBIS was the Crested, Kahlua. It was Timmy's second BIS in seven final appearances this yea.

The seven dogs that judge Raymond Filburn Jr considered for BIS Saturday were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Rush Hills DramaGeddon JH, the Harrier, GCH CH Pacific Happytails Heartbreaker, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Excelsias This Side Of Paradise, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Imaginabull's First Edition, the Havanese, GCH CH Peluito’s Papi Chulo, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Lakeridge Atalanta Summer In Paris, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH McMatt’s Isis Of Graffiti.

AIREDALE BIS IN FORT WORTH

Texan fanciers were in Fort Worth Saturday for the hometown kennel club’s two shows. Judge Linda Scanlon had the day one final and her pick of the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Basset Hound, GCH CH By U Cals Monkey On The Bayou, the Great Dane, GCH CH Journey's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Overtop Niort, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Just A Little Crush. 

The Airedale, walked away with the big rosette, while the Bichon took home the reserve ribbon. The Airedale, Splenda, is the nation’s Number Nine Terrier with two BIS and eight Terrier Groups this year.

With nearly 2100 entries, Saturday’s New Brunswick Kennel Club show in Edison NJ was this week’s largest show. The seven who made it to judge Bill Shelton’s final were the Pointer, CH Seasyde Holly Golightly, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Treis Pinheiros Buona Sera SW, the Samoyed, GCH CH Pebbles' Run Play It Again Ham, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Teritail’s Loyal Knight, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Seagryphs Sleeping With The Anemone, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hillwood Dassin Ouspenskaya, and the Belgian Tervuren, GCH CH Chateau Blanc I’m Coyote Trouble.

The two he named his BIS and RBIS were the Samoyed, Bogey, and the Welsh Terrier, Percy. The win, Bogey’s second BIS in eight trips to the final ring this year, will make Bogey the Number Three Working Dog.
