Growing up in the Mid South, a week at the beach meant heading to Biloxi MS.  The Gulf Coast spot has grown from a sleepy little beach town with great seafood into a sleepy little beach town with great seafood & casinos.  It’s one of our favorite spots and this week it had the added allure of four dog all breed dog shows.  One dog that made the most of the week was the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy. who took home three of the four BIS.  You can read about days one & two here.

On Saturday, the Mobile Kennel Club opened their two day party, asking Jan Paulk to choose her Best In Show.  She would have a seven that included the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett‘s Speed Demon, the Boxer, GCH CH Carillons MVP, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Kelaury Good Luck From We-Syng, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou's The Warrior, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

Saturday would belong to the Shepherd, Capi.  Another dog that has momentum going for him, Capi and handler Jimmy Moses have been winning BIS just about everywhere east of the Mississippi.  This was their 19th of the year.

Malachy and owner/handler David Fitzpatrick would cap the weekend with another big rosette, this one coming at the MKC’s day two show.  Paula Hartinger might have chosen the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Edgewood Casino Celebrity, the aforementioned Whippet, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Ingebars Siasconset Roswe, the above named Skye, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer Boy, or the GSD, Capi, but she didn’t.

Malachy has more BIS, 41, this year than any other dog.  The three shows will tighten things up a bit as the race to be Number One heads down the stretch.
