HURRICANES & HOUNDS IN NC

GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy

Hurricane Earl may be pelting the North Carolina coast, but in Raleigh NC it is sunny and hot.  Just as hot was the competition at today‘s Almance Kennel Club show.  Helen Winski Stein’s final featured three of the Top Five Dogs All Breeds.  Her special seven were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed, the Greyhound, CH GrandCru Clos Erasmus, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, yesterday’s BIS winner, the Bulldog, GCH CH Kepley’s Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker’s Rumpus Bumpus.  Today’s Best In Show was the Nation’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Peke,  Malachy.   Malachy 36th BIS this year keeps things interesting in our rankings race.

A special “Welcome Back!” to the Greyhound, Era, and breeder/owner/handler Rindi Gaudet.  Rindi and Era had spent a good part of the first half of the year in the Top Twenty Dogs All Breeds, but have been on hiatus these past couple of months.  You did notice that three of the top five hounds are in North Carolina this weekend?
