REGION FOUR REPORT

Out in Region Four, we had shows in Illinois, Nebraska, and Minnesota and we have results for two of the three.

CH Cedar & Barnstorm’s Ltd Edition

In Belvidere IL, the Kishwaukee Kennel Club held a pair of shows. On Saturday, Peggy Beisel-Mcillwaine, had the English Springer Spaniel, CH Tiffany Esspecial Imagery, the Saluki, CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles Of Jatara, The Great Dane, CH Lobat’s Code Red, the Norfolk Terrier, CH Max-Well’s Viper, the Havanese, Windfall’s Kiss Me Kate, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Cedar & Barnstorm’s Ltd Edition, and the Smooth Collie, CH Lisara’s Smooth Operator.

Her BIS was the Sleek Saluki, who becomes one of three Salukis to win a Best In Show this year. Congratulations to breeder Kathleen Morton and owners Jackie Harrington & Sara Winsted.

CH Lobat’s Code Red

We told you last night that the Norfolk Terrier, CH Max-Well’s Viper, went BIS on Sunday under Robert Hartinger. Viper was accompanied in the final ring by fellow Friday finalists the Saluki, Great Dane, Tibetan Terrier, & Smooth Collie and the.Chesapeake Bay Retreiver, CH Sanbar’s Stock exchange, and the Papillion, CH Wingssong Rock Star.

CH Bodacious In Enemy Territory

Elsewhere in Region Four, the Nebraska Kennel Club tossed a two day party in Omaha. On Saturday Elaine Mathis got first crack at the BIS hopefuls with the German Shorthaired Pointer, Bear Mtn Prairiestar Reflection, the Whippet, CH Kimera Karma De Kotan JC, the Boxer, CH Lattalanes Kiss Me Im Irish, the Bedlington Terrier, CH Blue Diamond Merlin, the Papillon, CH Marrics Northland It Takes A Thief, the Bichon Frise, CH Bodacious In Enemy Territory and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Kylene Eden The Dragonslayer.

It was the Bichon, Terrance, picking up the BIS. Bichon are always competitive and this year is no different. The top four ranked Bichon’s swap positions every weekend. We’re just going to have to wait to see where Terrance lands this month. Congratulations to breeders/owners Dan & Glenda Blue and Dennis Brown.

CH Kylene Eden The Dragonslayer

Sunday, only the Bichon and Sheltie would make it back to see Dr Harry Smith. The other finalists were the Welsh Springer Spaniel, CH Rock Sprgs Hawk Of The Battle, the Borzoi, CH Jubilee Katushka Ebel, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Phillmar Sisterella, the Bedlington Terrier, CH Sandon N Oakhill Jazzy Jubilee, and the Shih Tzu, CH Istas Tearin It Up.

We wrote a while back that we wished we saw more Shelties in the show ring, since that time, the Sheltie, Thomas, has been catching my eye every weekend. This is his fourth BIS this year, the three in the last few weeks. When we come back we will have the results in Region Five.

  1. There is an error in the Saturday Results posted by the AKC for the NEbraska Kennel Club.
The sporting group winner was the German Wirehaired Pointer Ch. Mt View's Ripsnorter Silver Charm owned and bred by Claire and Kelly Wisch.
