We did tell you that Saturday’s BIS was the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Gleneagle’s Who’s Famous Now. Also on hand in Arline Davis' final were the Clumber Spaniel, CH Moonrysn’s Moon Dawg the Great Dane, CH Elan’s Commad Decision Reimroc, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Black Watch On The Rocks, the Brussels Griffon, CH Cloud Nine Happy Hour, the Standard Poodle, CH Kayl;en’s On A Promise, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Sandcastle Demanding Mandy.

We’ll bring you Sunday’s as soon as some realizes they haven’t turned them in.

DOGS DOING DALLAS

We had two sets of shows in Texas this weekend and we did give you a peek at both. Here’s the details from Dallas.

CH Dalriada's Mystic

Friday, the Texas Kennel Club hosted and Dorothy Collier did BIS. Her finalists were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Casablanca's Thrilling Seduction, the Smooth Dachshund, CH Pawprint Add-Sim's Kristal MS, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Horizon's Upper Echelon, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Dalriada's Mystic, the Pug, CH Brazos River Legal Lion, the Boston Terrier, CH Gumbo-Kean's Cosmic Stargazer, and the Rough Collie, CH Sylvan’s Simply Irresistible. Her best was the Wire Fox, Boo. It was the third BIS this year for Boo and her second in the last week. Congratulations to breeder/owner Cara Campbell DVM, co-owner Mike Doleski, and handler Scott Sommer.

We told you that the Puli, CH Cordmaker Field Of Dreams, was Richard Bauer’s pick at Saturday’s Trinity Valley Kennel Club show. His other options were the aforementioned Cocker, Dachshund, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Heartfelt's Alibi V Touchstone, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Irisfingel Blue Badge, the Papillon, CH Queen Bless Jp World Idol, and the Bichon Frise, CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer.

Sunday, the Marjorie Tuff took over for the Greater Collin Kennel Club. Her seven were the above named Cocker, Wire Fox, Papillion, Puli, the 15” Beagle, CH Rockwoods Milo Tipster, the Boxer, CH Sunset N Bravo Stealing Time, and the Standard Poodle, CH Donnchada Sweet Dreams. Her BIS was the country’s number one Papillion, her second this year. Congratulations to breeder/owner Chie Ejima , co-owners Madeline Mosing, Hitoshi Hibara, & Jeff Alseth, and handler Brian Livingston.

ARKANSAS RESULTS

Our next stop is in Fayetteville AR and the Northwest Arkansas Kennel Club’s two shows.

Saturday Linda Robey had a look at the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH Shamrock Endever N All That Jazz, Basset Hound, CH Topsfield-Sanchu American Express, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Driftwood’s I Have A Dream, the Miniature Schnauzer, CH River’s Next In Line, the Affenpinscher, CH Induna Oliver Twist, the Lhasa Apso, CH Rushmar’s Charmer, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Shoal Creek’s Sangria V Barick.

Her Best was the country’s number two Herding Dog, the GSD, Rhea. We are not sure if they are aware of it, but there are four dogs with a shot at breaking into the top ten before the end of the year. Rhea is one of them.

Sunday Rhea would be the only Saturday finalist to make it back to see Christine Anderson. Her other six were the Curly Coated Retriever, CH Clarion’s Blackberry Bramble, the Afghan Hound, CH Lanwehr Wildfire, the Siberian Husky, CH Kontoki’s Return To Innocence, the Cairn Terrier, CH Stonehaven Lord Of The Rings (A special Cairn congrats to breeder/owner Cathy Burleson, co-owner Laura Harpel, and handler Clark Pennypacker.), the Pug, CH Bleuridge Katmandu At Kngz, and the Shinba Inu, CH Sonkei Ich Ryu At Pendragon.

It would be Siberian Sunday as the eight year old Siberian bitch would show the youngsters how it is done. Congratulations to breeders Thomas Oelschlager & Marlene DePalma and owner Ted Devlin.

ST CLOUD RESULTS

As if it isn’t cold enough around the US, some of our more enthusiastic fanciers gathered in St Cloud MN to test their mettle.

We did get a chance to tell you that the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Mondrian VH Lamslag RE was the BIS winner at Saturday’s Granite City Kennel Club Of St. Cloud, Minnesota event. He and judge Elaine Mathis were joined by the Curly Coated Retriever, CH Dryfork Curly Moe, the American Foxhound, CH Kiarry’s Foolish Pride, the Komondor, CH Lajosmegyl Djaam, the Norwich Terrier, CH Abbedale Take Two At Tailesin, the Bichon, CH Victoire’s Norwegian Red, and the Rough Collie, CH Highcroft Bourne Supremacy.

CH Skipper’s King Eminence OF Helluland

Sunday it was William Bergum’s turn to pick a BIS and he chose from the previously mentioned Foxhound, Cavalier, Bichon, the Golden Retriever, CH Avalor’s INXS, the Newfoundland, CH Skipper’s King Eminence OF Helluland, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Arbroath’s Rosewood Rise N Shine, and the Belgian Sheepdog, CH Chargany’s Boyageur.

King for a day was the Newfoundland, Lincoln, as he walked off with BIS number three of 2009. Lincoln was bred by Bela Siklosi, and is owned by Laura Vande Ven & Peggy Helming. Our congratulations to all.

THIS WEEKEND IN ILLINOIS

Even with all the excitement on the east and west coasts, it would be a mistake to overlook the happenings in the heartland.

CH Sno Klassic Play The Game

The Edwardsville Illinois Kennel Club gave us two shows this weeklend in Belleville IL . On Saturday Barbara Dempsey Alderman saw the Gordon Setter, CH Firethorn & Sandpiper Easy On The Eyes, the Smooth Dachshund, CH Kochanas Hiswill Ain't Misbehavin, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Sno Klassic Play The Game, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, CH Kings Mtn Minnie Mouse, the Papillon, CH Wingssong Rock Star, the Schipperke, CH Dante Fire When Ready HOF, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Lambluv's Daydream Believer.

It was the Malamute’s, Player, twelfth BIS this year. Congratulations to breeders/owners Martin & Patricia Peel, co-breeder Cindy Benson, and handler Erin Gimbut.

CH Liontamer's Dial 1-800 Hotstuff

On day two, Beth Speich had the same Malamugte & Dandie, with the English Springer Spaniel, CH Wil-Orion's Twenty Twenty, the Basenji, CH Ab-Rafiki The Icon Of Cool, the Pug, J-K Broughcastle Boomerang, the Chow Chow, CH Liontamer's Dial 1-800 Hotstuff, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Calloway Pixie Dust.

Her Best was the Chow, his second of the year. The two year old was bred by Jaquelin Greene & Karen Tracy. Karen co-owns with Gerry & Richard Roberts. Jan Kolnik handled to the win. Congratulations to them all.

GETTYSBURG FINALISTS

You may recall that we told you that the Pointer, Seasyde Dobe’s Den In Fashion, was Sam Houston Macdonald’s BIS at Saturday’s Chambersburg Area Kennel Club in Gettysburg PA.

SHAR-PEI BEST IN NC

Sunday, Paula Hartinger gathered the English Setter, CH Honeygait Wilsonlake On The Rocks, the Greyhound, CH GrandCru Clos Erasmus, the Siberian Husky, CH Kontoki's A Bend In The Road, the Smoth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Pug, CH Ivanwold Diva At Riversong, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Vaje's Miss Jayne Hathaway, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Ross-Mar's What Dreams May Come.

Fresh from winning the National Specialty of the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, Miss Jayne went on to win her first all breed BIS of the year. Congratulations to breeders/owners Jeff & Vicki Mauk and handler Timothy Thomas. We did really try to find a photo, really.

BREAKING OUT OF THE HERD

It was cold in Providence RI, but the action was hot as several of the country’s top twenty five were there for the four day weekend. You have the first three days results. Here’s what happened yesterday.

CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins

Mareth Kipp took the final ring for the Eastern Dog Club’s day two show. Her hopefuls were the Labrador Retriever, CH Beechcroft Study's Top Secret, the Irish Wolfhound, CH Dun Myrica Speaker Of Eagle, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, the Irish Terrier, CH Fleet St Fenway Fan, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, CH Southdown Nonetheless, the Bulldog, CH Kepley's Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

It was a Beardie kind of day as the country’s number one Bearded Collie, Roy, regained his number three Herding Dog ranking with 2009 BIS number 14.

WARMING IT UP IN MIAMI

It’s cold and dreary here in Memphis, so we are going to start our Monday morning wanderings in Miami FL where we had four shows. We’ve only given you a glimpse at those, but here’s the whole story.

CH Genesis Silverado

It started on Thursday with the day one show of the South Dade Kennel Club and Edd Bivin. Looking for the top prize were the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Ripsnorter’s Mt View Lookout, the Afghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Alpenspirits Lion King, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Pomeranian, CH Velocitys Shake Ur Bonbon, the Chow Chow, CH Kelins There Can Be Only One, and the Rough Collie, CH Gentrys Braveheart. Best was the nation’s number one Afghan, Dylan.. It’s BIS number six this year for the number five Hound.

CH Bracon’s Leapin Lily Pads

Friday, South Dade KC day two saw Michelle Billings in the final ring with all of Thursday’s finalists, save one, the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Bracon’s Leapin Lily Pads. It was just three weeks ago that the two year old Cocker picked up her first BIS of 2009 and now she has her second.

We did tell you that the Pomeranian, CH Velocity’s Shake Ur Bon Bon, was Norman Patton’s Best In Show at Saturday’s Greater Miami Dog Club day one show. We didn’t tell you that the aforementioned Cocker, Afghan, & Skey were joined by the Rottweiler, CH Cammcastles Hollywood First Lady, the Bichon Frise, CH Risgae Miabella Sweet Georgia, and the German Shepherd Dog, Cofino Covytuckerhill Athena.

The Greater Miami Dog Club wrapped it up Sunday with Randy Garren and the above named Cocker, Bernese, Skye, Pom, Bichon, Collie, and the Whippet, CH Karasars Par Excellence. Sunday was the Bichon, Georgia’s day, as she grabs her fifth BIS of the year. The race for number one Bichon is one of the many breed races that will go down to the wire this year. Will it be Georgia?

CAVALIER BIS IN WASHINGTON

We have this just in from today’s Greater Clark County Kennel Club in Ridgefield WA.

CH Full of Malarkey Miles of Aisles

Judge James Reynolds had the choice of the English Setter, CH Set'r Ridge's Dallas Cowgirl, thea Saluki, CH Carmas Indian Summer, the Siberian Husky, CH Paragon’s Red Red Wine, the Wheaten Terrier, CH Doubloon’s Ultimate Player, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Full of Malarkey Miles of Aisles, the Standard Poodle, CH Brighton Lakeridge Summer In The Hamptons, and the Belgian Tervuren, CH Sky Acres Spy Plane.

It was the Cavalier, Miles, who got the nod and the BIS. Miles, bred and owned by Patrick & Tamara Kelly, just turned two years old. We could be wrong, but we believe this is Miles very first AKC all breed BIS. Whatever the count, our hearty congratulations to the Kellys.
