The Spartanburg Kennel Club opened the big three day weekend in Greenville SC yesterday with Linda Robey taking the final ring.   The seven dogs, whittled down from nearly 2000, were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Rhodesian ridgeback, GCH CH Whirlaways Ida Belle's A Ringing, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen’s Holy Knight, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Bulldog, GCH CH Itsa Brix, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Jetstar Nirvana.

Taking home all those points was the country’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Springer, Peyton, while the Sheltie picked up the runner up spot.  Peyton and handler Robin Novack have kept up a relentless pursuit of the Number One spot.  We will have to wait until the end of the week to see how close Peyton’s 27th BIS this year gets him.
