  1. Buddy did not finish at #1 in 2009 - the top Skye was Ch Solana Avant Garde, bred by Michelle Shiue.

  2. My regular readers know that I write this blog to celebrate AKC show dogs. I am well aware that there is more than one ranking system out there. There are pros and cons to each of the systems. I kind of like that there is more than one system because it allows us to recognize even more of our wonderful dogs. That’s one of the reasons I publish my own top ten.

Here we have a dog that won six all breed BIS, 29 Terrier Groups, and defeated nearly 9,000 dogs and another that has won no all breed BIS, two Terrier Groups, and bested less than 600 dogs. One is the Top Skye all breeds and one is the Top Skye based on breed points. I would be proud to own either dog and congratulate both on wonderful years.
