DID YOU BET THE LUNCH MONEY?

GCH CH Yarrow Winning Ticket

For some 40 years we have been advising you should not bet your lunch money on a dog show. Today’s Montgomery County Kennel Club show was ample evidence of the truth of that. Eight of the Top Ten Terriers were entered at this year’s MKC event. Only five of them would make it out of the Breed and none of them would be among judge Rosalind Kramer's four top dogs.

The Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Winning Ticket, piloted by Peter Green, would take the Best In Show. It was the ninth Montgomery County BIS for dogdom's top Terrier expert. The 25 month old Winston, bested his sire, the current Number Six Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket to Ride, on his way to the win, his first Terrier Group One.  Winston was bred by Beth Sweigart & Pam Beale and is owned by Pam & John Beale of Yarrow Venerie Kennels.

GCH CH Absolutely Signature

Second place went to a Lakeland Terrier, from the classes, Snowtaire's Next Generation, bred by Barbara Decker & owned by Barbara & Lauren Parker of Palo Alto CA. The Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Absolutely Signature, bred & owned by JW Smith & Dana Gabel of Collins NY took the third place. Fourth place went to the not yet two year old Irish Terrier, GCH CH Red Devil’s Irish, Lucifer’s Fire, handled by Adam Bernardin, bred by Joseph Philip & Matthew Mattus, who co-own with Kelly Marsh.
