GCH CH Mytoys Epic Against The Wind

The icy weather did not keep prevent the Trinity Valley Kennel Club from drawing more than 1700 dogs to its show in Dallas TX today.  The seven dogs that made it all the way to judge Douglas Johnson’s final were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Doc N’ Camelot’s Heaven Can Wait, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Osiris Cowboy Cassanova, the Great Dane, GCH CH Challenger’s Samurai V Lamar, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan’s To Russian With Love, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop, the Bulldog, GCH CH Mytoys Epic Against The Wind, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

GCH CH Doc N’ Camelot’s Heaven Can Wait

Best went to the Dallas native, the Bulldog, Ralph, Reserve to the Weimaraner.  Ralph is the nation’s Number One Bulldog and Number Nine Non-Sporting Dog with three BIS in 20 final appearances this year.

The Champlain Valley Kennel Club opened the three day weekend in West Springfield MA and asked judge Dana Cline to name a BIS and RBIS.  His seven hopefuls were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Airedale, GCH CH Joval Angel’s Whisper, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Standard Poodle, CH Dawin Wildrose Raisin' The Stakes, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber.

Best In Show was the IWS, Riley.  Reserve Best In Show went to the PWD, Matisse, who had braved the bad weather to travel the 925 miles to travel overnight from Wheaton IL.  Riley is America’s Number One Sporting Dog and Number Five Dog All Breeds with 23 BIS in 78 trips to the final ring this year.

We have five all breed shows today and just ten more days to the end of the show season.  Our first results come in from Winston Salem NC where the Greater Hickory Kennel Club kicked off a three day set.  BIS judge Bonnie Linnell Clarke chose her top two from the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza's My Cherie Amour, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Awanunas Tornado Of Snow BN, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country's Tag I'm It, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing's Tenzin, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Ha'Penny Mirimar The Fab Fawn.

Finishing one/two were the Beardie, Fawn, and the Foxhound, Jewel.  It was the first BIS in 17 final appearances this year for Fawn and handler Greg Strong.  Congratulations to Greg, breeder Dorothea Matthews, and owners Mrs J Richard Schneider, Michele Marini, & Victoria Null.

Our countdown to the end of the show season has begun.  Yesterday’s Starved Rock Kennel Club’s day one show in Wheaton IL kicked off eleven straight days of all breed shows culminating in the year’s largest event, the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in Orlando FL.  The day ended with the nation’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water  Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, adding the SRKC BIS to his game leading total.

Joining Matisse and handler Michael Scott in judge Paula Nykiel’s final were the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, GCH CH Chesastar Hudson Bay RN, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Raquel Welch Of Malabo APD, the RBIS, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Baliwick Honey Boo Boo, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” To Pillowtalk, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

Matisse now leads the country’s Number One Dog, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, in BIS, 89 to 83.  With just ten more days in the season, it seems that Matisse is a lock for Show Dog Of The Year.

Before we start with this week’s all breed show reports, let’s tell you about last weekend’s American Brittany Club’s national specialty.  Judge James Reynolds’ Best In Specialty Show was GCH CH Rainbow Splash's Ruggedly Handsome.  BISS Beckett’s littermate, CH Rainbow's Bippity Boppity Boo, took the Best of Opposite Sex award.  Winner’s Dog was Triumphant N' Kala's Sky's The Limit, and Winner’s Bitch and Best of Winners was Sanbar Crosscreek Tell Me A Story.

Beckett is the nation’s Number One Brittany and Number 14 Sporting Dog with two BIS and 22 Sporting Groups this year.  It was the second consecutive national specialty Best of Breed for Becket and handler Clint Livingston.  Congratulations to Clint, breeder/owner Kathy D Hogan, breeder Elud Archuleta Cressler, and owners Jim & Alisa Andras, Carolee Douglas, Amanda Cone.
