We return to last week for a catch-up report from Los Lunas NM and the Valencia Valley Kennel Club Of New Mexico.  Saturday’s final saw judge Sulie Greendale-Paveza in the final ring with the Parti-Colored Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Sherwood & Lomapoint Captain Crunch, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Samoyed, GCH CH Glacier White Moonlite Mist Chanel No. 5, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Rojac’s Handsome Guy Too, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Shorepointe’s Buddy, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Vaje’s Jethrene Bodine, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copperridge What’s Your Dream.

The big Saturday prize went to the Harrier, Chet, and the runner up ribbon went to the two year old Samoyed bitch.  Chet is the Number Two Hound and Number Dog All Breeds with 11 BIS and  61 Hound Groups.

Chet and the above named Shar-Pei and Aussie would return on Sunday to judge David Markus’ final.  They were joined by the Labrador Retriever, the Akita, GCH CH Stardust’s See You At The Show RN, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Dytona VIP, and the Pomeranian, GCH CH Blue Moon And Lana’s LA Ink.  He would like the Akita, Nick, for his BIS and Chet, the  Harrier, for his RBIS.  It was the second of the set for Nick and his third BIS in 17 times in the final ring this year.

Midwest exhibitors were in Springfield IL for the Illinois Capitol Kennel Club show, the first of four all breed contests there this week.  The seven dogs that stayed all day to see judge Pat Trotter were the Vizsla, GCH CH Regal Point Pinnacle Of Kilauea, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hundeleben Queen’s Armada SL, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolie Bells Will Be Ringing, the Bulldog, GCH CH MyToys Epic Against The Wind, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

Finishing one/two were the Portie, Matisse, and the Bulldog, Ralph.  Matisse has walked away with 16 big rosettes from his last 17 shows.  Matisse is the Number One Working Dog and Number Two Dog All Breeds with 71 BIS this year.

We haven’t yet quite finished with last week’s reports and we already have results from this week.  Fanciers in Texas kicked their week in Belton TX with yesterday’s Stephenville Kennel Club Of Texas show.  Judge Rosemary Shoreman had the opening final and her pick of the pointer, GCH CH Chesterhope State of T Art, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Sayo’s Jai Ho, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Oakrose High’N Mighty, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hill Money Talks.

Best went to the Pointer, Miley, and Reserve to the Bichon, Bingo.  Miley is the nation’s Number Four Sporting Dog with 12 BIS and 52 Sporting Groups.

TWO FROM MARYLAND

When we last were in West Friendship MD we told you about Friday’s Catonsville Kennel Club show.  Saturday’s CKC ended with judge Mark Kennedy considering the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Dixieland Duchess, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Samoyed, GCH CH Pebblerun Play It Again Ham, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Joker Land’s  Glacyka, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing’s Tenzin, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Rosevalley’s Special Edition.

His Best In Show was the Tibbie, and his Reserve was the Australian Shepherd.  Tenzin is the country’s Number One Tibetan Spaniel and Number Three Non-Sporting Dog with six BIS and 50 Non-Sporting Groups.

The Nation Capital Kennel Club took over on Sunday, putting judge Charlotte Patterson in the final ring with the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Sandpiper's Castles in the Air, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner's International S'Cess, the Boxer, GCH CH Hi-Tech The King Of Sherry Shoot Jp, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH GCH CH Hi-Tech The King Of Sherry Shoot Jp, the aforementioned Peke, Rodger, the Tibbie, Tenzin, and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi from the classes, Corguard's Diale One-VIII Hundred Yum Yum. 

Going home with the big rosette was the Bloodhound, Rocketman.  Getting the reserve ribbon was Rodger, the Peke.   It was the second BIS in 16 final attempts this year.

One place we hadn’t visited this past week was Wilmington NC where the Hanover Kennel Club  held two shows last weekend.  The seven dogs that stayed all day Saturday to see judge Dr James Edwards were the Irish Setter, CH Militza's My Cherie Amour, the Whippet, GCH DC Ableaim Que the Music MC, the Black Russian Terrier, GCH CH Valkyrie's Funny Girl RN, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab's Bayleigh Maid Of Honor, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Grantilley Galaxy Moon, the Bulldog, CH Kepley's My Way of the Highway, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.

Best In Show went to the Puli, Ziggy, and Reserve went to the Irish Setter, Adele.  It’s the second BIS in 13 final attempts this year for Ziggy and owner/handler Jackie Beaudoin.

Ziggy, Adele, and the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, would all make it back to the final ring on Sunday.  Joining them in judge Dr Richard Hilderman’s ring were the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Camelot's Ventura Adventure, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Avalon Bey Chairman of the Board, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Belews Les Bonstemps Rouler, and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Luminary Black Velvet Bejeweled with Pearls.

Saturday’s bridesmaid was Sunday’s Bride, as the Irish Setter, Adele, romped away with the BIS and the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, scored the RBIS.  It’s the first BIS in six final appearances this year for Adele and breeder/owner/handler Ken Wall, breeders/owners Tracy McNeal, Roger McNeal, & Joel Fisher DVM, and owner N Godbey
