ANOTHER DOG NEARS 100



GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm

We have another dog about to reach the 100 BIS milestone.  2012’s Number One Dog, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, picked up his 99th career Best In Show yesterday in Duluth MN at the hometown Duluth Kennel Club’s day one show.

Lorraine Boutwell also liked the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Sharbelle Silhouette, who collected the Reserve Best In Show.  On hand for the occasion were the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Elmo's Martian Chronicles, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Broxden Waybroke Halstan Heritage, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

Oakley is currently the  Number Four Dog All Breeds with 19 BIS and 35 Sporting groups this year.

TEXAS ROAD TRIP

Next week we will head to Houston for the Reliant Series of Dog Shows, the third in a road trip through Texas’ biggest cities.  It started last week in Dallas with the Greater Collin Kennel Club, the Texas Kennel Club, and the Trinity Valley Kennel Club shows.

At Friday’s GCKC the Pointer, GCH CH Chesterhope State Of T Art, the Saluki, Appalachia's Allamyrra Hajji, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Colored Bull Terrier,           CH Glentom's Dirty Harry, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Donnchada Angel Wings At Dulcinea, the Bulldog, GCH CH Mytoys Epic Against The Wind, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey, all showed up in Judith Daniels’ final.

The two that left with awards were the Pointer, Miley, and the Toy Poodle, Angel.  It’s the eighth BIS in 25 final appearances for Miley this year.

Clay Coady was in the final ring for the TKC on Saturday with Miley the Pointer, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Mastiff, GCH CH Willow Ridges Risky Business, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH True Blue Madonna, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Miletree Northern Star at Shirmont, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the returning Puli.

Finishing one/two were the Poodle, Flame, and the Mastiff, Kruz.  Flame is the Number Three Non-Sporting Dog with seven BIS and 44 Non-Sporting Groups.

Marjorie Tuff would close it out on Sunday for the TVKC with the Pointer, Miley, the previously seen Afghan Hound, the Mastiff, Kruz, the GCH CH Camcrest And Surley Jasmine, the above named Cavalier, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hills Money Talks.

Packing up the last two awards were the Cavalier, Teddy, and the Australian Shepherd, Cash.   It’s the first BIS this year for Teddy and handler Clint Livingston.  Congratulations to Clint, breeders Peter C & Ruta K Towse, owners Dr Bruce & Shirley Henry & Betsy George.

This week the crowd is in San Antonio for the Bexar County Kennel Club and the Comal County Kennel Club four shows.  Today at the BCKC’s opener Barbara Dempsey-Alderman chose the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, as her Best and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Stonepillar's Steel Blu as her Reserve.  Also looking for recognition were the Pointer, Miley, the Saluki, GCH CH Aurora's The Song And Dance Man, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan’s Wake, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Krissy's Savvy Jasper, and the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card.

While we wait for more results from today, here’s what happened last week in West Friendship MD where the Catoctin Kennel Club, the Northeastern Maryland Kennel Club, the Upper Marlboro Kennel Club, and the National Capital Kennel Club collaborated on a four show weekend.

GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret

The CKC kicked it off on the 4th with Terry Stacy in the final ring with the Irish Setter, CH Evergreen Good Intentions, the Otterhound, CH Scentasia´s End OfAn Era, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Bellefleets Living In The Fast Lane, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Double R'S Alberta Clipper CGC.

His top two were the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, and the Akita, Trader.  Jennie is AKC’s Number One Welsh Terrier and Number Three Terrier with eight BIS and 31 Terrier Groups.

Peter Green was in the final ring on Friday for the NMKC.  The seven he saw were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Crimsonacre Wind Chime, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the St Bernard, GCH CH Jamelle’s Aristocrat V Elba CGC RN, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Class Act By Hallsblu, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing Tenzin, and the Finnish Lapphund, GCH CH Lumiturpa Arvi.

His Best was the Foxhound, Jewel, and his Reserve was the Kerry, Blue.  Jewel is the nation’s Number One Foxhound, Number One Hound, and the Number Five Dog All Breeds with 20 BIS and 61 Hound Groups.

Jewel and the above named Irish Setter & Pug, would all be back on Saturday for the UMKC’s final.  Joining them in Paula Hartinger’s ring were the Samoyed, GCH CH McMagic's Mojo, the Sealyham Terrier, GCH CH Efbe's Thunder Rd At Burberry, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Ta Sen Westgate On A High, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber.

The two walking away with the top awards were the Sammie, Mojo, with the BIS, and the Pug,. JJ, with the RBIS.  It’s Sammie’s second BIS of the year in nine final appearances.

The NCKC had the closer and they chose Don Evans to choose a Best and Reserve form the Weimaraner, GCH CH Poets Bossa Nova Baby, the Foxhound, Jewel, the Greater Swiss Mountain .Dog, GCH Nox's George Bailey's Irish Crème, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH An Garda Deja Vu Looking at You, the Pug, JJ, and the aforementioned Miniature Poodle & Briard
Packing up the final two awards were the two year old AmStaff with the Best In Show and the Foshound, Jewel, with the Reserve.  It's the first for the young AmStaff.   Congratulations to breeder/owner Evelyn Heath, owner Renato Paco Zanoia, and handler Christian P Berg.

TUNBRIDGE VT, DAY ONE

We have the first all breed results from this week,  in from Tunbridge VT were the Woodstock Kennel Club and the Green Mountain Dog Club are hosting four shows this weekend.  Today’s WKC final was called by John Fredrick Peddie.  Making it to today’s final were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting fields Heavenly Body, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Raindance Led Zepplin of Marquis, the Airedale, GCH CH Joval Angel’s Whisper, the Havanese, GCH CH El Divo’s Oh No You Didn’t, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH RinChen's Blazing Black Icon, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration.

Grabbing the top prizes were the Tibetan Spaniel, Michael, and the Airedale, Wispa.  It’s the first BIS of the year for Michael and handler Mark Desrosiers.  Congratulations to Mark, breeder/owner Claire H Coppola, co-breeder Katherine G Coppola and owner Claire Coppola.
