DAY THREE IN IDAHO



GCH CH Dunkirk Hop to It

The action in Idaho has moved to the town of Blackfoot where the Eagle Rock Kennel Club is set up for two days.   Today’s final featured judge Mark Houston-McMillan and the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss and Tell, the Akita, GCH CH Ruthdales Candy From A Baby, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Absolutely Talk of the Town, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Dunkirk Hop to It, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential.

His BIS was the Chin, Kermit, and his RBIS was our new DOG2WATCH, the Smooth Fox, Taylor.  Just four weeks ago Kermit picked up his very first  BIS.  Now he has two.  Our thanks to Robin Greenslade for this report.

DAY TWO IN IDAHO



GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour

The Snake River Canyon Kennel Club of Idaho capped it’s day two show yesterday in Filer ID with Karen Wilson in the final ring.  Her seven hopefuls were the GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye, the Long Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Jetstars Simply Outrageous, the French Bulldog,  CH Hilsman Napachal Cruel Intentions, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH  CH Take Aim’s Playing For Gryffindor.

Her BIS was the Giant, Dora, and her RBIS was the Clumber, Seymour.  Dora and handler are coming off a very big week where they collected the Saturday BIS at Woofstock, worth better than 2100 points.  Today’s BIS is Dora’s tenth this year and her seventh in the last 45 days.  During that time, has climbed 26 steps up the ranking all the way to the Number Six Dog All Breeds Spot.

We haven’t even made it home from last weekend’s Woofstock and our new show week has already begun.  Ambitious exhibitors were in Filer ID yesterday for the day one show of the Snake River Canyon Kennel Club of Idaho.

Stephen Hubbell’s final seven were the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon’s Arsenal, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye, the Maltese, CH Rhapsody’s Someone Like You, the French Bulldog,  CH Hilsman Napachal Cruel Intentions, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Zottels Shaggy Star.

Finishing one/two were the Frenchie, Sebastian, and the Doberman, Gunner.  It was the first for the 22 month old dog.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Roxanne Hilsman, co-breeder  V Phrukwattanakal, owner/handler Alvin (Beep) Lee, and owner David Berrey.

FIRST DOGUE DE BORDEAUX BIS EVER!

We have the last of the weekend’s results for you.  These come in from Puyallup WA were the Puyallup Valley Dog Fanciers and the Tacoma Kennel Club each hosted one show.

At Saturday’s PVDF show, Barbara Wood welcomed the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Rush Hill's Drama'geddon JH, the Black & Tan Coonhound, GCH CH Windbourne HD Ranch King Of The Road, the Dogue de Bordeaux, GCH CH Evergreen's Rub My Belly At Rising Star, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan's Be Bop Baby, the Silky Terrier, GCH CH Tawny Mist Myan Mystic, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Dreamland's Wanna Be A Billionaire, and the Norwegian Buhund, CH Hundehaven’s GiGi, to her final.

The two she pulled for awards were the Scottie, Betsy, who got the BIS and the Silky, Copan, who received the RBIS.  The win was Betsy first Terrier Group win and BIS of the year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner  Vandra Huber, co-breeder Mike Krolewski, and owner/handler Rebecca Cross.

Sunday the TKC took over and put Dr Carol White-Moser took in the final ring with the same Golden, the Whippet, GCH  CH Starline's Oxford Victim Of Love, the returning Dogue de Bordeaux & Scottie, the Toy Fox Terrier, GCH CH Jane's Christmas Gift, the Lhasa Apso, Kumi Kian Strike A Pose, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

Picking up the Best In Show was the Dogue de Bordeaux, Buddha, while the Sheltie, Brother, got the Reserve.  It was the first for Buddha and the first for the breed since their admission to competition in 2008.  A very big congratulations to breeders Angie Reed & Scott Reed, owners Jennifer Roberts & Lauren Parker, and handler Michael Brantley.

In the Deep South, fanciers were having a good old time in Lake Charles LA at the Calcasieu Kennel Club’s and the Acadiana Kennel Club’s four shows this past week.  Read about Thursday’s CKC show here.

GCH CH Willow Ridges Risky Business

At the CKC day two show on Friday, judge Linda More considered the Vizsla, GCH CH Regal Point Pinnacle of Kilauea JH, the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Rinendell’s Hotwire, the Mastiff, GCH CH Willow Ridges Risky Business, the Norwich Terrier, CH Thunderwood’s First Robin of Spring, the Maltese, CH Rhapsody N Cherubs Oh So Henry, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

Picking up his second consecutive BIS was the Bichon, Bingo.  Getting the Reserve and the photo op was the Mastiff, Kruz.  Bingo would finish the set with two BIS, raising his 2013 total to eight.

Saturday Bingo and handler Scott Sommer returned to try his luck with Col Joe Purkhiser.  Joining them in the Acadiana Kennel Club’s day one final were the English Springer Spaniel, Foxboro Rendition Top Call, the Saluki, Appalachia's Allamyrra Hajji, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Fortune Forward, the previously seen Maltese, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Just a Little Crush.

He would choose the Boxer Macey as his BIS and the Bichon, Bingo, as his RBIS.  Macey and Michael Shepherd have been charming judges for three seasons now.  This year they have five BIS.

Judge David Kirkland had Sunday’s closer and his pick of the English Setter, GCH CH Set’r Ridge’s Dirty Dancing, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Maya’s Mockingbird, the Boxer, Macey, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Wright Wyn’s Power Play, the Papillon, GCH CH Involvo The King of Pop, the Bichon, Bingo, and the now familiar Cardigan, Libby.

His one/two were the Cardigan and the Boxer.  Libby is the Number Two Herding Dog with six BIS this year.

Jordan MN was the site of the Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club’s two shows this weekend.  Stephen Hubbell had the day one final and his choice of the American Water Spaniel, GCH CH Waterway Game CRK Hot Diggity, the Afghan Hound, CH Kryslaurs Blueprint Carbon Copy, the Boxer, GCH CH Kajas Ruby Red Rascal At Maximus, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Epochs Time Bandit, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Knolland King of the Road, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Live the Dream.

Day one’s BIS went to the Boxer, Ruby.  The RBIS was awarded to the OES, Sue.  It’s Ruby’s first BIS.  Congratulations to breeder Janet Smith, owners Lloyd & Dolores Dissinger, and handler Terry Smith.

Sunday,  Ruby & Sue would be back for a second attempt.  Joining them in Clay Coady’s final were the Pointer, CH Stage Presents The Wizard, the Borzoi,  CH Jubilee Tadbit O’Brindle Mist, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Warfox Wild Flower, the Shih Tzu, CH Jadesilk Luv T’Auburn Locks, and the Bulldog, CH Magic Valleys Purple Rain.
