WESTERN CAROLINA DFA 1

GCH CH Dalarno’s Nite Song at Morningstar  

Today in Waynesville NC the Western Carolina Dog Fanciers Association held the first of their two shows this weekend.  Jerry Watson had the company of the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours the Buck Stops Here JH, the Otterhound, GCH CH White River’s He’s a Keeper!, the Boxer, GCH CH Ho-Pa’s Grand Slam, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Bigwig’s Mack the Knife, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Fantastico da Maya, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno’s Nite Song at Morningstar.      

His BIS was the Corgi, Spencer.  It’s the third this year for Spencer and handler Frank Murphy.

TRAVERSE CITY MI, DAY TWO

Polly Smith was on hand in Traverse City MI to award the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, his 113th career BIS at today’s Grand Traverse Kennel Club show.

Joining Beckham and handler Michael Pitts were the Afghan Hound, CH Jakar An Affair Most Wicked, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Homebrewed Page Three Girl RN, the Pug, CCH Country’s Hill’s Tag I’m It, the American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Nuuktok’s Atka Inukshuk, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Quiche’s Grand Finale.

It was the second BIS of the stop for Beckham and his 22nd of 2012.

GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF  

The Echo Hills Kennel Club Of Ohio opened their two day stop in Troy OH today and asked Charles Olvis to choose their BIS.  He chose from the Weimaraner, GCH CH Doc n Camelot’s Heaven Can Wait, the  Scottish Deerhound, CH Lehigh Ennis Carmichael JC, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Broxden Danea, the Havanese, CH Marcosa’s slip Slding Away, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH C and J’s Silver Charm of Chrysalis.  

Best went to the Schipperke, TJ.  It’s the third of the year in 19 final appearances for the Country’s Number Four Non-Sporting Dog.

DUNKIRK NY, DAY THREE

GCH CH Buckridge’s No Doubt About It  

Just south of Lake Erie the Conewango Valley Kennel Club was wrapping up their day two show in Dunkirk NY.  Arley Hussin chose his Best In Show from the Pointer, GCH CH Marjetta In The Limelight JH, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Brakenshire Scotch n Ice, the Akita, GCH CH Buckridge’s No Doubt About It, the A White Bull Terrier, GCH CH Caben Muse-ic for the Soul, the  King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Southdown Nevermind, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Shenanwood Simply Imagine This, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.  

Taking home the big rosette was the Akita, Rocky.  It’s the second this year for Rocky in seven final appearances. 

NORTH SHORE KENNEL CLUB TWO

Pat Mobray-Morgan had the day two final for the North Shore Kennel Club in Topsfield MA.   Her line up included the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH CH Lennoxlove Susqudilla s Mini Cooper, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Moknham‘s Famous Grouse, the Cane Corso, GCH CH Liberty‘s Armed and Dangerous, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia, the Maltese, GCH CH Ta-Jon’s Pawstively Pawparazzi, the day one BIS winner, the Standard Poodle, Ale Kai Solo on Fifth, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Rosmoor Protocol.  

BIS was the two year old Maltese, Snapshot.  It’s his first.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Tammy Simon, co-breeder John Simon, and owner Timothy Lehman.

GRAYSLAKE IL DAY ONE

The Little Fort Kennel Club Of Waukegan opened one of the more unusual stops on the show circuit today in Grayslake IL.  Normally we have a limited breed show warming up for an all breed show, but the LFKCW offered up all breed action as a prelude to the Great Lakes All Terrier Association limited breed outing.  

The seven dogs that survived to see Linda More were the Brittany, GCH CH Star Flight Jumpin Jack Flash OA NAJ, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Great Pyrenees, GCH CH Beren's Hope of Thorn Hill, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Symarun's Love T'Look, the Bulldog, GCH CH Evergreen’s Miss Congeniality, and the Border Collie, CH Bon-Clydes Piston Pete Of Nahrof.  

It was the California Wire, Sky, in town for the big Terrier weekend, taking home the first BIS of the set.  Sky and handler Gabriel Rangel now have 12 BIS this year and A Number Seven All Breeds ranking.

SIX DAYS IN IDAHO, DAY FOUR

Meanwhile back in Idaho, the nation’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, was determined to keep the leader in his sights.  Peyton and handler Robin Novack joined the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek‘s Kiss and Tell, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Charisma Maxim Von Diable, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH First Class Syrah D'Hermitage, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Dejavu I Want'a Talk About Me, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Canaan Dog, GCH CH Pleasant Hill Magnum Of Samara, in Jon Cole's final. 

It’s the 15th BIS this year for Peyton, 11 of which have come in the last 45 days.

HANFORD CA, DAY ONE

Terry DePietro opened the four day stop in Hanford CA, choosing the Sequoia Kennel Club’s BIS on Thursday.  Showing up for the first final were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Basenji, GCH CH Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Hollywood, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Penaire's Chip Leader at Longvue, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Cashnross' First Griff Tina Fey, the Lhasa Apso, CH Kai-La-Sha Rumtek Rosette, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Kensington's Artful Dodger.    

Day one went to the Nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the GWP, Oakley.  It’s the second of the week for Oakley who picked up a big rosette in Idaho on Tuesday.  That’s a total of 26 this year for Oakley and handler Phil Booth, who have opened a sizable lead on the field here at the midpoint of the season.

TRAVERSE CITY MI, DAY ONE

The Grand Traverse Kennel Club opened their three day stop in Traverse City MI today and put Loraine Boutwell in the BIS ring.  The seven dogs that made in to her final were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the 13” Beagle, CH Werff’s Apple of My Eye, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Homebrewed Page Three Girl RN, the Pug, CH Hill Country’s Tag I’m It, the Lowchen, CH Touche’s Vindication, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Quiche’s Grand Finale.  

Best went to the country’s Number Eight Dog All Breeds, the Cocker, Beckham.  2011’s Number One Dog is not on as aggressive a schedule as last year, but still has 21 BIS this year.

NORTH SHORE KENNEL CLUB


When Karen LeFrak and Wendell Sammet have a new Standard Poodle in the show ring, we always take notice. Today they brought their latest ingĂ©nue, Ale Kai Solo on Fifth, to the North Shore Kennel Club’s opener in Topsfield MA.   

Joining her in Gayle Bontecou’s final were the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH CH Lennoxlove Susqudilla s Mini Cooper, the Borzoi, GCH CH Mascha's AAscaneas, the Boxer, GCH CH Jacquet’s Laredo El Encanto, the Miniature Schnauzer, Kelly s Tarmar’s Lift Your Glass, the Maltese, GCH CH Richelieu’s Here Comes Trouble Again, the Puli, GCH CH Fuzzy Farm Twist and Shout. 

It is the  first for the 14 month old bitch who went all the way from the Open class to the BIS ring.  Congratulations to Karen and Wendell.  We hope to have a photo for you soon.
