We need to wrap up a few loose ends on our show reports
before we start gathering our gear for our annual pilgrimage to Pennsylvania
for that Super Bowl of Terriers, the Montgomery County Kennel Club show. First we go back to Charlotte NC for a report

Cindy Vogel’s options for BIS & RBIS were the Gordon
Setter, GCH CH Hollyhunt Take a Chance on Me JH, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH
CH Camelot’s Ventura Adventure, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Cypress Bay JL Snazzy
Story At Avalon Bey, the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, GCH CH Villanova Blame It
on the Bossanova, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Orchard Hill Only
Human, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Luminary Black Velvet Bejeweled with Pearls,
and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Blue Heavens Just Me.
The two she chose were the Rhodesian and the Gordon. It’s the first BIS this year for three year
old dog and handler Frank Murphy.

The Jacksonville Dog Fanciers Association chose judge
Carolyn Alexander for their closer on Sunday, asking her to pick the Best and
Reserve from the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, GCH CH Chesacola Hardwood Baltimore
Raven CGC, the Saluki, GCH CH Baha
Persian Of Interest CD RN NA AXJ NF SC, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Alpha
Magic Man’s CDC, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Shortyrocks Jasper By
Dumbriton, the Papillon, GCH CH Wildfire On the Record, the Tibetan Spaniel,
GCH CH Dabalar s Wild-Eyed Southern Boy At Renegade RA CGC, and a Smooth Collie
from the classes, Hollicove s By By Brody CGC.
Best went to the Staffy Bull, Jasper, Reserve to the Saluki,
Pepe. It’s Jasper’s first BIS and
Terrier Group of the year.

The energetic Heart of the Plains Kennel Club ended their
three day stop in Lubbock TX on Sunday, closing with Judith Daniels in the
final ring with the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Hil-N-Don & Canyonwood
Seemore Of Me, the Portuguese Podengo Pequeno, Houla´s Potter, the Mastiff, GCH
CH Willow Ridges Risky Business, the Bedlington Terrier, CH Carillon Chazzen De
Hayyim, the Pug, GCH CH Pocket’s Ameci, the American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Ducat’s
Smoking Hot, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hill’s Cash Talks.
Finishing one/two were the AES, Smokey, and the Podengo,
Potter. We believe it to be the first
RBIS by a Portuguese Podengo Pequeno.
It was the first BIS in two final appearances for Smokey. Congratulations to breeder/owner Helen
Dorrance and handler David Harper.
Californian fanciers spent Sunday in Paso Robles CA with the
San Luis Obispo Kennel Club, ending the day watching Cindy Meyer go over the
German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Dogwdcreek’s La Vita E Belle, the 15”
Beagle, CH Foxtail’s Race For The Chase, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH
Roseknoll Sunny Benjamin, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding
V Sole Baye, the Silky Terrier, GCH CH Karisma Heart And Soul, the Boston
Terrier, GCH CH Kennedy’s N Barcomm’s On The Catwalk, and the Polish Lowland
Sheepdog, GCH CH Stonebrook’s Divine Design.
Taking home the BIS was the GSP, Belle. Leaving with the RBIS was the Silky, Jedi. Belle is the nation’s Number One German
Shorthaired Pointer and the Number five Sporting Dog with two BIS and
