WE HAVE WISCONSIN RESULTS!
We know that Wisconsin residents prefer football to dog shows, but we are calling “delay of game”. We now have this weekend’s results from Eau Claire and the Indian Head Kennel Club’s two shows. Did you notice how many dogs started the week in one place and ended it in another? The Standard Poodle, CH Dawin Spitfire, the nation’s Number One Non-Sporting Dog, started the week in Perry Georgia with a BIS on Thursday. Jetta and handler Sarah Riedl then traveled 1200 miles to take both of the top prizes in Wisconsin. That brings Jetta’s BIS total to ten this year and a Top Five All Breeds berth.
Lee Canalizo’s remaining finalists on Satuday were the ASCOB Cocker Spaniel, CH Creekridge Eye Be A Starr, the Basenji, CH Ankhu Promises In The Dark, the Samoyed, CH Polar Mist War Admiral, the Border Terrier, Meadowlake Sharp Dressed Girl, the Long Coat Chihuahua, CH Ouachitah Giselle, , and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Limerick’s Shakespeare. Sunday Michael Dougherty saw Jetta, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, CH Little Rivers Brynwood Celtie, the Otterhound, CH Adelines Sticky Wicket, the Great Dane, CH Roseruns Bamboo Tiger, the Border Terrier, CH Tyrolian Eight Belles At Meadowlake, the Shih Tzu, CH Olvies Grove Odd Thomas, and the Briard, CH Touche In Cahoots With Déjà Vu.

FIGHTING FOR #1 HERDING DOG
We have a report from Harrisburg PA & the Mason & Dixon Kennel Club. We hear that the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins has taken his second BIS of the weekend. This one brings Roy & handler Cliff Style into a virtual tie for the top Herding position. Joining Roy & Cliff in Wendy Willhauck’s final were the the Irish Setter, CH Shadagee’s Caught Red Handed, the 15” Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Confession, yesterday’s BIS winner, the Great Dane, CH Lobato's Jitterbug Man, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Cranmoss Finbar Of Colinca, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash Jp Moon Walk, and the French Bulldog, CH Bandog Bayou's The Rising Sun.
BULLDOG IN PARADISE
We now got to Hawaii, where the Windward Hawaiian Dog Fanciers Association day two show looked much like it’s day one show with Col Joe B Purkhiser choosing his BIS on Sunday from six of the seven Saturday finalists, the Wemaraner, CH Nani's Tsurutani Honor Bound JH, the Longhaired Dachshund, Saturday’s BIS winner, the Rottweiler, Sunkissed Solo Success RN, CH Xeralane's Supersize, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Broxden Best Regards, the Shih Tzu, Xeralane's Eye Of The Storm, the Bulldog, Addicted 2 Bling Bling, and the lone newcomer, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Windfall Charlie. He went with the Bulldog bitch from the open class. Bling Bling was bred by Linda Seidel & Cheray Norman, owned by Linda & Patrick Loo, and handled by Jennifer Oki. Congratulations to them all.
TERRIER HAT TRICK
Anytime you put 400 Terriers in one place it’s going to be exciting. The Sacramento (CA) Kennel Club’s two shows this weekend were preceded by the Northern California Terrier Association’s two all Terrier shows. The Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek, made the most of the weekend winning three of the four events. Yesterday’s all breed BIS came under Cindy Vogels, who picked Adam out of a final that included the English Setter, Set’r Ridge’s Exclusively Gold, Whippet, CH Sonsteby's In A Pickle, the Standard Schnauzer, CH Goarrhein Chateau Palos Shiraz RN TD PT, the Pomeranian, CH Powerpom High Performance, the Keeshond, CH Windrift's Dance To The Music, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalons Frontier Sleepnlady Webber. Adam & handler Eddie Boyes are now right on the heels of the country’s top ten. We’re loving the way this year’s race is shaping up.
We would be remiss if we didn’t report that our friends in the Welsh Terrier comunity insist that the Welsh Terrier, CH Bayleigh Shaireab's Super Hero, was the winner of Friday’s limited breed show. MBF had reported a different winner and AKC has not reported a winner. We will go with the Terrier folks’ report. Congratulations to Spyder and handler Jorge Olivera, breeders/owners Keith Bailey & Sharon Abmeyer, and owner Marilyn Jacobs.
WRAPPING IT UP IN OKLAHOMA
Our next stop is Grove OK where Barbara Dempsey Alderman wrapped up a four day cluster for the Tri-State Kennel Club. She gathered the Golden Retriever, Amica's Journey Nothing Comes Close, the Whippet, CH Starline's Chanel, the Rottweiler, CH Evrmor Xtraordinaire V Stoneridge, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Diana's Glory Of Deaglan, the Toy Poodle, Burline's Blazing Midnight Comet, the Schipperke, CH Dante's Fire When Ready HOF, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder. Best was the charming Schipperke, his second this year. We believe him to be the only of his breed to win a BIS this year.
LOTS OF ACTION IN INDIANA
Out in the Midwest, Crown Point IN to be exact, the Steel City Kennel Club staged a pair of shows. Saturday’s event was overseen by BIS judge Kek Kahn. Her final seven were the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Ripsnorter's Mt. View Lookout, the Whippet, CH Sporting Field's Bahama Sands, the Standard Schnauzer, CH Pepper Tree Zorro V.Morgenwald, the Bedlington Terrier, CH Checkpoint Charlie Of Celtic Odyssey, the Smooth Chihuahua, CH Ayrwen Star Kissed Delight, the Standard Poodle, CH Jaset's Satisfaction, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Lambluv's Gambolon Soultry Wind. Her Best was the GWP, Scout, his second this year. Scout & handler Frank Murphy have been among the most consistent winners this year, maintaining a top ten all breed berth primarily on Group wins. This is their second all breed prize, both coming this month.
Sunday Scout & Frank were back to see Paula Nykiel along with the Saturday finalists, the Whippet, Tawny, and the Poodle, London. They were joined by the Rottweiler, CH Loral's Number One Caesar, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J'Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Pug, CH Kenshei And That's The Way It Is, Polish Lowland Sheepdog, CH Swan Crest Windy City Robert Henry. Her choice was the nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Smooth Fox, Dodger. Dodger and handler Amy Booth now have 18 all breed BIS, pretty impressive.
ALL ABOUT THE HOUNDS
We need to make a pit stop in Perry GA where the three all breed shows, previously reported here, were followed by the North Georgia Hound Association’s all Hound fun fest. We don’t know why there are not more limited breed shows as they enthuse exhibitors like no other event. We also think they are a help to fanciers that want to narrow down their search for the perfect dog for their home.
Lesley Hiltz’s fab four were Group 1, the 15” Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Confession, Group 2, the Greyhound, CH GrandCru Clos Erasmus, Group 3, the Basenji, CH Jokuba's C-Quest Sneak Preview At Omar JC, & Group 4, the Redbone Coonhound, CWSG CCH Sidearm Jungle King Mufasa. Congratulations to Lola & handler Marcelo Chagas and all the other winners.
IT'S TIGHT AT THE TOP
The entry was down at Saturday’s Harrisburg (PA) Kennel Club show, but it was still a sizeable affair with over 2100 dogs entered. Garry Newton’s final seven were the Weimaraner, CH Graytsky's Stratus Sphere CD RA TD, the Scottish Deerhound, CH Foxcliffe Hickory Wind, the Boxer, CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Jadee-Connacht Just You Wait, the Maltese, CH Ta Jon's Whose Your Daddy, the Miniature Poodle, CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Rough Collie, CH Kelso's Moon Dancin. His Best was the Number Two Hound, the Deerhound, Hickory. Mark that as her eighth top prize this year and good enough to move her back into the Top Ten Dogs All Breeds.
Sunday in Harrisburg PA, the host club was the Mason & Dixon Kennel Club and the BIS judge was Evie Sullivan. She had the choice of Hickory, the abovementioned Boxer, Scarlet, the Irish Setter, CH Shadagee’s Caught Red Handed, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Cranmoss Finbar Of Colinca, the Italian Greyhound, CH Honore’s Lily-Belle, the Standard Poodle, CH Unique Jewel Of The Crown, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Whisperwood's Wild Biscuit. Her BIS was the country’s Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Boxer, Scarlet. That’s number nine for Scarlet and handler Diego Fernando Garcia and suddenly the it’s awfully close for our Top Three Dogs All Breeds.
The Mason & Dixon KC will continue the fun today with their day two show.
CANINE CATCH UP
We are a bit behind in our show reports so it’s canine catch up time. We will do things geographically. Starting in New England where the Providence County Kennel Club & Rhode Island Kennel Club gave us two shows on Saturday, it was Dr Robert A Indeglia with the Field Spaniel, CH Tamarack's Race You To Calico, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Mzazi's Beau De Soleil, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Skansen's C'Sofia Of Grandeur, the Irish Terrier, CH Fleet St Fenway Fan, the Pomeranian, CH Tabletop's Return To Sender, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Salishan's My Special Angel, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins. His BIS was the Beardie, Roy, his seventh this year. Roy is in a neck and neck race for the Number One Herding Dog and is now knocking at the door of a top ten berth all breeds.
Sunday, Jon Cole saw the Roy, the same Irish Terrier & Tibetan Terrier, the Weimaraner, CH Camelot's Knockin' On Heaven's Door, the Borzoi, CH Aashtoria's Aucassin Mascha, the Boxer, CH Jacquet's Laredo El Encanto, and the Boxer, CH Jacquet's Laredo El Encanto. It was the Tibetan Terrier, Mika, picking up the Best In Show. We think it might be the first for the two year old ever. We know it’s the first this year. Congratulations to breeders/owners Gary & Susan Carr, owner Robert Hennings, and handler Clifford W Steele.

We don’t often get to report on the shows in Hawaii. It’s not intentional. We just don’t hear about the results on a regular basis. EPHRATA-MOSES LAKE KC SATURDAY
The Irish Water Spaniel, CH Poole's Ide Got Water RN, was Mary Lou Kniola’s choice for Best In Show at Saturday’s Ephrata-Moses Lake Kennel Club show in Moses Lake, WA. It’s Keegan’s third top prize this year.
TERRIERS MASS IN SACRAMENTO
Saturday's Sacramento Kennel Club show benefited from the two preceding shows held by the Northern California Terrier Association on Thursday and Friday. This year’s Terrier entry had 376 Terriers present & competing and it was the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek, who won Thursday’s all Terrier event, taking home Saturday’s top prize.

DID YOU MISS US?
We hope our readers will forgive us for taking a 24 hour sabbatical from our show results. Yesterday we took a spontaneous road trip to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, and, no, we didn’t go to a dog show. There are some things we love more. However, we are back at the keyboard this morning and we do have results for you. First, from Perry GA, we hear that the Pekingese, CH PalaceGarden Malachy, was Bill Shelton’s choice for BIS at yesterday’s Atlanta Kennel Club Show.
Joining Malachy & handler David Fitzpatrick were the Golden Retriever, CH Sunjoie N Woodland Any Way U Slice It, the Greyhound, CH Grandcru Clos Erasmus, the Siberian Husky, CH Indigo's Hilltop Istate, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Bichon Frise, Mybliss Sport Edition At Bella, and the Old English Sheepdog, Bugaboo's Big Shot. It’s Malachy’s ninth big rosette this year and, with almost 2500 dogs entered, his biggest win to date.
