GCH CH Spirit Woods Gandalph the Blue

The Land O’Lakes Kennel Club drew a substantial entry for its two days in St Paul MN.  The seven that Col Joe Purkhiser saw were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Dunstan Tucker, the Boxer, CH Nantess Caleno Numero Uno, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH Max-Well's Diamond Thief, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Symarun's Love T'Look, the Bulldog, Evergreen’s Hey! Gorgeous, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Spirit Woods Gandalph the Blue.

His RBIS was the BIS winning Shih Tzu, Looker, but his BIS was a relative newcomer, the Beardie, Gunner.  The first timer is the son of the top winning Bearded Collie of all time, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.  Congratulations to breeders/ownersSheila Larsen & Jim Larsen.

Our final report of the evening comes in from Pendleton SC and the Clemson Kennel Club.  Bonnie Linnell Clarke had a stellar group today, the Field Spaniel, CH Sandscape Pardon Me Boys, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Orion With Mistweave, the Great Dane, CH Kaliber’s Tennessee Waltz CA, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Simply Sinful, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Integra’s Masquerade Party, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Overtops And The Winner Is, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Karizma’s Ike of Edale.

Best went to the Bichon, LJ, while the Reserve went to the IG, Harley.  It’s the first BIS for LJ.  Congratulations to breeder Joanne Rubin, owners Zhen Luo & Ng Koon Keung, and handler Dennis D Brown.

Rita Holloway was in Fitchburg MA today to call the BIS/RBIS for the Merrimack Valley Kennel Club.  The seven she saw were the Labrador Retriever, CH Frakarui’s Kool As Kiefer, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Karhiba N Adili’s Winning Hand JC, the Saint Bernard, GCH CH Jamelle’s Aristocrat V Elba CGC RN, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Southdown Nevermind, the Schipperke, GCH CH De LaMer Black Ice, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration.

Her Best was the Schipperke, Ice, and her Reserve was the Lab, Kiefer.  It’s the first BIS for Ice, who had seven Non-Sporting Group Firsts in 2012.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Krista Nuovo.

Our talented Best In Show Daily associates have just sent this report in from the Empire Equestrian Park and Polo Field in Indio CA where the day one show of the Kennel Club of Palm Springs has just wrapped.

The seven dogs asking Sari Brewster Tietjen for one of the year’s biggest prizes were the English Setter, GCH CH Oakley’s B’Dazzled, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss and Tell, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Lowdown Remys Girl V Ardenhout, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Victory Spencer, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Allure at Wyndstar.

Reserve went to the Chin, Spencer, but the lion’s share of the points went to the Wire Fox, Sky. Sky is riding a wave since her win at last month’s AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.  Today’s BIS, worth about 2700 points, comes on the heels of two Group Ones at Thursday’s and Friday’s Desert Empire Terrier Club of Southern California limited breed shows and will likely make Sky our Number One Dog All Breeds this first week of the year. Congratulations to  breeders  A J Pertuit Jr, & Betty Seton, and owners Victor Malzoni,  Torie Steele, Mary & Scott Olund & Diane Ryan, and handler Gabriel Rangel.

It was day two in Tallmadge OH and Walter Summerfelt had the final for the Rubber City Kennel Club.  His seven options were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Ocoee Dsqd With A Vengeance, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Spring Valley's Always There, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Havanese, GCH CH Marcosa’s Slip Slidin’ Away Of Skyline, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hillwood Dassin Rock On By, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH C and J Silver Charm of Chrysalis.

His top two were the Collie, Ashley, and the Russell, Bosse.  It’s the first BIS for four year old Ashley.  Congratulations to breeders Debra & Robert Waelde and owners Judy Walburn & Cheryl Thompson.

Our first report comes in today from Deland FL where the Greater Daytona Dog Fanciers Association is set up for two days.  Jane Forsyth chose her top two from a group of mostly familiar faces, the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Bahama Sands, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Impression De Matisse, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Of Skyeline Captain Hook, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts On Fire, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Sporting Fields Heiress HSAS.

Her RBIS was 2012's Number Six Dog All Breedfs, the MinPin, Classie.   HerBIS was the Cocker, Beckham.  Beckham was 2011’s Number One Dog All Breed’s and finished 2012 as the top winning Sporting Dog of all time with 121 career BIS, 21 last year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Linda Moore, owners owners Bruce Vandeman, Carolee Douglas, & Mary Walker, and handler Michael Pitts.
