Our show week began yesterday in upstate New York, in the town
of Romulus NY. The Onondaga Kennel
Association opened the four day Wine Country Circuit, putting judge Anne Katona
in the final ring. The cluster has the
week’s largest entries, nearly 7000 dogs entered in the regular classes.
The seven she saw were the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, GCH CH
Chesastar Hudson Bay RN, the 15” Beagle, Daniel Boon Pelaez, the Portuguese
Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH
Yarrow Venerie Ticket to Ride, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded,
the Standard Poodle, CH Dawin Wildrose Raisin' The Stakes, and the Puli, GCH CH
Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.
The two she chose were her BIS, the Portie, Matisse, and her
RBIS, the Beagle, Spyder. Matisse is the
nation’s Number One Working Dog and Number two Dog All Breeds with 61 BIS and
95 Working Groups. A good performance this
weekend could make a major dent in the Number One Dog’s lead.
