Last week we had the pleasure of dog shows in two different
sites in the Mountain Time Zone, an area often without an AKC presence.
The Arapahoe Kennel Club chose Aurora CO for their two shows
last weekend and asked judge Carol Spritzer to handle the Saturday final. She chose her top two from the Golden
Retriever, GCH CH Trance Mission JP Cunard Adventure, the Greyhound, Fionn
Clann Crainne CGC, the Akita, GCH CH Stardust's See You At The Show, the Miniature
Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Bay, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla
Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Schipperke, GCH CH Bonchien Cedric The Entertainer, and
the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.
It was the native son, the OES, Swagger, strutting to the
BIS, while the elegant, little Maltese, Hank, took the RBIS. Swagger is the country’s Number On Herding
Dog with 11 BIS and 34 Herding Groups.
Dr Albert Bianchi would see the same Golden, Schnauzer, Maltese, & Schipperke, along with the
Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss and Tell, the Tibetan Mastiff, GCH CH
Drakyi Lion of Judah, and the Border Collie, CH Kensington Dragon Heart. He would choose the Schnauzer, Justin, and
the Schipperke, Cedric, as his Best and Reserve.
It’s a great year for Terriers and Number Four Terrier Justin
takes 15 BIS and 48 Terrier Groups into next week’s Terrier Super Bowl, the Montgomery
County Kennel Club show.
