Today’s Montgomery County Kennel Club show was nearly
picture perfect. Everything, but the
weather presented the ideal day for Terrier lovers. In the end the few drops of rain just made
the tweeds, caps, & boots more authentic.
AKC's Number One Terrier, the Wirehaired Fox Terrier, AfterAll
Painting the Sky, skipped the festivities as her breeder was judging. However, handler Gabriel Rangel handled one
of Sky’s kennelmates to the most prestigious award in the Terrier world, Best In Show at
Montgomery County.
The Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Iron Van Foliny Home, took home
the Group One, while the country’s Number Two Terrier, the Scottish Terrier, GCH
CH Lomondview Clementina, took the second place, the Airedale, GCH CH Joval
Angel’s Whisper, finished third, and the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Wedigit
Paparazzi, took home the fourth place.
The Belgian born Aston had a substantial European career,
capturing French and World titles before coming to the US. Although Aston has won multiple specialties
and Terrier groups, it’s safe to say that today’s win is Aston’s biggest. Congratulations to breeders De Munter Rony
& Uiterwijk Dieny, owner Victor Malzoni Jr, and handler Gabriel Rangel.
