We do have three sites offering three day weekends. In Region One, you can head to the Philadelphia suburb of Wrightstown PA for the Keystone Garden Cluster hosted by the Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association and the Huntington Valley & Burlington County Kennel Clubs. It’s not a cluster, but three shows by two clubs in the Chicago burbs. The Fox River Valley KC will do Friday and Saturday in Woodstock IL and then the Stone City KC will take over on Sunday in Morris IL, some 67 miles south. Finally, the Fargo-Moorhead KC will camp out for three days in West Fargo ND starting Friday.
The good news is that there are lots of sites to spend a traditional weekend at an AKC dog show. In Region one we have shows in upstate NY (Clayton) courtesy of the St Lawrence Valley Dog Club, in Massachusetts (Wrentham) by the Ladies Dog Club & the Framingham District KC. In Region Two it’s the Charlottesville-Abemarle KC in Charlottesville VA. The Toledo KC takes over Region Three with two shows in Maumee OH.
Midwesterners can choose between the Region Four offerings in Corydon IN by the Southern Indiana KC or the Mississippi Valley KC two shows in Gray Summit MO. We will be at Olive Branch Mississippi KC the shows in Southhaven MS, just over the state line from Memphis. Elsewhere in Region Five, the Flatirons KC offers a two day stand 35 miles north of Denver in Longmont CO.
West Coast residents are always up for a ride on I-5 and this weekends shows are over 1,000 miles apart. In Region Six it’s the Yakima Valley Kennel Club in Yakima WA and in Region Seven it’s the Kennel Club of Pasadena in Pasadena CA. That’s 33 chances to see an AKC dog show this weekend. What’s your excuse for not going?
