With the Terrier Super Bowl, the Montgomery County Kennel
Club show, less than two weeks away, we
note that this year’s race for Number One Terrier is fierce. The Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time
Charlie started the month with a razor thin lead on the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH
Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor. Since
then the Skye, Charlie, has added two BIS and several Group Ones to his resume.

This past weekend, the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, answered with
back2back BIS at the Chesapeake Virginia Dog Fanciers Association’s two shows
in that Virginia town. The day one final
was in the hands of judge Charlotte Clem McGowan. She chose Jennie as her Best out of a seven
that included the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Edgewood FirstN Foremost, the
Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’Cess, the Great Dane, GCH GHDD Seamus Lord Of The
Dance, her Reserve winner, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the Lhasa
Apso, GCH CH Ta Sen I Won’t Dance Don’t Ask Me, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker
Topsy Turvey.

Sunday Jennie, the Bloodhound, Nathan, the Pug, Rufus, & the Puli, Charlotte, would all be back in the final ring on Sunday to plead their case with BIS judge Joe Walton.Joining them were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Doc's Crosswinds Absolut Ten Of Acadia, the Bernese Mountain Dog, GCH CH Peacefield's Searching For Stars At Lin Cars, and the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Aurora's Welcome To The Jungle. Jennie and Nathan would succeed, taking the BIS and RBIS.
Jennie's 2014 take now stands at 16 BIS. It's anybody's guess who will be Number One Terrier in two weeks.
