The cotton candy of the dog world were in Houston Texas on Mothers Day this year for the 2011 National Specialty of the Bichon Frise Club of America. Jacqueline Stacy was surrounded by walking clouds of perfectly coiffed canines as she chose the country’s Number Nine Dog All Breeds, GCH CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer Boy as her BISS. Joining Drummer in the winners’ row were the Best of Opposite Sex, CH Gemstone She Is a Belle of the Ball, the Winners Dog/Best of Winners, Glenleigh Gangs N’ Roses, and the Winners Bitch, Risgae’s Catch the Rainbow.
Drummer and Bichon maven, handler Scott Sommer, have collected 13 all breed BIS and 30 Non-Sporting Group firsts so far this year, earning them the Number Four spot in the Dog Show Poop all breed rankings. Congratulations to Scott, breeders Sandra & Keith Hanson & Shirley & Richard Hamilton, and owners Barbara Weidner, Laurie Darman, Kim Griffin, & Cecelia Ruggles.
