Our Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, broke the century mark this weekend, sweeping all four shows in Falmouth MA.

At Thursday’s Cape Cod Kennel Club opener, Matisse was judge Christine Calcinari’s BIS.  Challenging Matisse for the win were the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Foxwoods Dublin Diva, the RBIS, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Farao Anubis Inferno RN SC, the Irish Terrier, Irvonhill Leave It To Me, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotted Bliss Oreo Delight, and the German Shepherd Dog, Topline’s Ebby of Troy CGC.

Judge Diane Malenfant would name Matisse her Best In Show and the aforementioned Chihuahua, Sonnito, her Reserve winner at Friday’s South Shore Kennel Club show after considering the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Legacy’s Random Titleist, the Pharaoh Hound, CH Hallam Sovrin Kayla JC, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Stonebridge Just A Little Bit Better, the Bulldog, GCH CH Cherokee Legend Cowboy, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical’s My Turn CGC.

Matisse would take the top prize at Saturday’s SSKC encore, leaving the RBIS for the returning Springer, Titleist.  Rounding out judge Vicki Abbot’s final were yet another Pharaoh Hound, Bazinga A Dream Of Spring For Mia, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Cheron's Dirty Water, and the now familiar Chihuahua, Bulldog, & Beardie.

At today’s CCKC closer judge Carl Gene Liepmann would make it unanimous choosing Matisse over the Springer, Titleist, the RBIS, the Pharaoh Hound, Bazinga A Dream Of Spring For Mia, the Airedale Terrier, CH Blackwatch In Control, the Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, CH Sanchi Pleasant Surprise, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Sutra GEMK's Sweet William, and the returning Beardie, Turner.

The four wins brings Matisse’s 2014 tally to 101 BIS and his career total to 196, all is just 20 months of competition.  Our congratulations to breeder/owner Donna Gottdenker, owners Milan Lint & Peggy Helming, and handler Michael Scott.
