We have just returned from seeing off our daughter and her
new husband who are bound for a honeymoon in Italy. Whenever there is a major shift in our life,
we always return to our dogs to bring normalcy back into our lives. We have lots of show results to catch up on
and we will start in Fitchburg MA where the Cheshire Kennel Club, the Souhegan Kennel Club, & the Framingham District Kennel Club had
the first three shows of the four day set.

The CKC had the opener and Edward Lyons had the day one
final. The seven hoping to pick up a top
award wear the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the
Borzoi, GCH CH Greyhaven This Rough Magic SC, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Windovers
Hey There Handsome, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A
Spot, the Havanese, GCH CH Fuzzy Farm Qbin Who’s On First, the French Bulldog,
GCH CH Bella Ridge Imperiale Shady Harbor Mafia Campcovo, and the Puli, GCH CH
Fuzzy Farm Twist and Shout.
Capturing the Reserve was the Borzoi, Aidan, while the Best
In Show went to the IWS, Riley. It’s the
eighth BIS for the country’s Number Irish Water Spaniel in 33 final appearances.

Friday the SKC asked William (Sandy) Gunn to choose his top
two from the English Springer Spaniel, CH Alpine's Grand Central, Borzoi,
Aidan, the Boxer, GCH CH Draco Greets Dassin With Fourbears, the aforementioned
Lakeland, Spot, the Pug, GCH CH San Remo's Tug Of War, the American Eskimo Dog,
GCH CH Nuuktok's Atka Inukshuk, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Windfall Slam
Dunk. Taking home the RBIS & BIS were the OES and the Lakeland,
Spot. Spot is the country’s Number Three
Terrier with 17 BIS and 70 Terrier Groups this year.
GCH CH Albannach A Knight's Tale JH
Dr Ruby Hertz had the day three final for the FDKC. Her seven supplicants were the previously
seen Borzoi, Boxer, Lakeland, French Bulldog, & OES, the Gordon Setter, GCH
CH Albannach A Knight's Tale JH, and the King Charles & Ruby English Toy
Spaniel, GCH CH Southdown Nevermind. The
third time was a charm for the Borzoi, Aidan, who copped the BIS, while the
Gordon, Wallace, made good on his first appearance with the RBIS. It’s the second BIS this year for Aidan in
twelve finals.
Spot also went Best In Show on Sunday under Delores Burkholder for the second Souhegan KC show.
