The Diablo Valley in northern
California was the place to be today if you wanted to collect a bunch of points
to help your ranking. The seven dogs
trying to persuade BIS judge June Penta to part with the big rosette at the day
two show of the Skyline Dog Fanciers Of San Mateo County in Pleasanton CA were
the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the
Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the Boxer, GCH CH Maxl’s Stay Gold, the American
Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Ring of Fire, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH
Victory Spencer, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay’s Power & Privilege, and
the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Allure at Wyndstar.

Collecting all those points was the
BIS winner, the Afghan Hound, Mowgli, while the Corgi, Allie, picked up the
Reserve bragging rights. Mowgli, who
maintains a somewhat relaxed show schedule, has made a habit winning the big
ones this year. Today’s win, his 12th
BIS of the year, will come in around 1500 points
