Here from MO again for another night.
ReplyDeletehello everyone! Welcome to the Best In Show Daily/Dog Show Poop Garden Party! We have lot's to tell you about today's action
ReplyDeleteFirst the Number One Dog of 2011 won't be here after being beaten in the breed.
ReplyDeleteHello Billy!
ReplyDeleteHi, Jodi. Welcome
DeleteSecond, we have a ghost of Christmas past with us. The irish Setter, GCH CH Shadagee's Caught Red Handed, 2010's Number Three Dog, is back from maternity leave.
ReplyDeleteThis GWP already has three BIS this year
ReplyDeleteToday was the last time everyone will get to show here
ReplyDeleteStarting next year only breed winners will get to show at this location
ReplyDeleteBreed judging will take place 25 blocksnorth of. The Garden at the Hudson Piers
ReplyDeleteToo bad about Beckham, are you ringside Billy?
ReplyDeleteI am up in the press box where I can see the same broadcast as you as well as the live action
DeleteThis English Setter is the Number One All Breeds this year
ReplyDeletehi all. Shocker about Beckham today. Did you see the breed judging Billy?
ReplyDeleteI did see the judging. The Cocker folks were not as surprised as the rest of us
DeleteWho was the judge? I am sure that has alot to it, but I can imagine a big disapointlment.
DeleteShe is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOH MY what a SHock for all of Beckhams team.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to bruce schulz?
ReplyDeleteThey think it's kidney stones
DeleteEmily looks great!
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice Red and White.
ReplyDeleteI'm a dogshow neophyte, but that Irish is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteShe was the Number Three Dog All Breeds.in 2010
DeleteBruce isnt there. Hope he recovers quickly.
ReplyDeleteWhy weren't the cocker folks surprised, Billy?
ReplyDeleteThe Black Cocker who won the variety judging was first select at this year's American Spaniel Club national
ReplyDeleteThat is Michael Pitt, Beckham's handler with the ASCOB
ReplyDeleteWatch his dog move
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about. The black cocker
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Was the other surprise upset today Eira, the WFT?
ReplyDeleteIt was
DeleteJust got home from work! Excited to see night two and pull for my dad and the rest of the great dogs!
ReplyDeletePeyton is now the favorite to win this Group
ReplyDeleteBilly-
ReplyDeleteWho took wires? I wasn't even aware there was another "great" wire out there right now. Seems like the breed has endured a dry spell for the last couple of years.
It was GCH CH Graycottage Santeric Fyrestorm
DeleteI did not see the judging but heard it was a nice dog that showed its heart out
DeleteI'll jump on the site and see if they have a breed video to check out. Guess I could just wait for the group. LOL
DeleteThe Weimaraner, Schatze, is named for the Lauren Bacall character in How To Marry A Millionaire
ReplyDeleteThere have been a lot of upset wins this year. More then the norm?
ReplyDeleteI would say there have been lots of surprises
ReplyDeleteEmily is back!
ReplyDeleteIrish
ReplyDeleteWo says you can't have a family & a career?
ReplyDeleteYes Irish looked really pretty on the last go around.
DeleteThe Irish has got my vote. Also like the Springer
ReplyDeleteAwesome job, Adam and Emily!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell iwe just keep having more surprises
ReplyDeleteGrass Valley Guy, wo's your dad?
ReplyDeleteMy dad is Eddie Boyes with the smooth.
DeleteGrand kids and all of Grass Valley are excited to watch Pop Pops on the tube.
DeleteAwesome for Adam and Emily!
ReplyDeleteI saw on FB page working is next, I thought they were suppose to be the last group?
ReplyDeleteEnjoying everyone's comments! I'm in New Zealand and this is the closest I can get to live coverage! I'm cheering for Peyton...but I'm biased since my bitch is his half-sister. :-)
ReplyDeleteGo FIFI!!! The DOberman
ReplyDeleteFiFi is one of my DOGS2WATCH & my pick for the Group 1
DeleteShe is mine too, but I worry about the Boxer.
DeleteMy fingers are crossed for Scarlett, although I wouldn't mind seeing the Dobie win.
DeleteI like Fifi too. Tough group though. Is Diego okay after his slip? No cable, so this is as close as I get this year!
DeleteThe owners of the Tibetan Mastiff were married in the benching area today, complete with tuxedos & a designer gown
ReplyDeleteThat Akita is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteRicky is also one of my DOGS2WATCH
ReplyDeleteWatched the poodles breed video on line late last night. Seems totally unfair to make those dogs try and "move" in a ring so small. Anybody else have the same complaint? Will the pier site be better?
ReplyDeleteBoth the ring size & the floor they used this year were complaints
DeleteDiego Garcia, handler of the Number One Working Dog, the Boxer, Scarlett, took a nasty fall after slipping on the carpeting in the breed ring
DeleteNot sure if it was the "difference maker" but Taffe's dog really seemed to struggle with the dimensions and "getting going".
DeleteGrass Vallley Guy, I agree, none of the big dogs can move in those little rings. I sure hope th enew place will have larger rings.
ReplyDeleteEmily sure changes the final lineup. I watched the SFT breed judging online today. They deserved to win. Did a great job.
ReplyDeleteHow old is Emily? Still a young dog relatively speaking...right?
ReplyDeleteJust barely four
DeleteWasn't the spaniel that won a couple of years ago 7+.
DeleteThe Sussex, Stump, was ten
Deletewow! I had no idea he was that old? How long was he retired? Do you happen to recall? I assume that is the oldest winner by far.....right? Probably even for a group.
DeleteWhat's great about Adam and Jamie is that they whelped and raised Emily's litter. They are just devoted to the Irish Setter
DeleteThe the question of the night is...What will happen first the chigaco cubs winning the world series or a Samoyed winning best in show at Westminster :)
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteI'm betting on the Sammie
DeleteThere was a huge entry of Bordeaux here today
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or has this group grown too big to be just one group?
ReplyDeleteAKC is considering breaking up the seven groups into ten
DeletePyrenees are the most popular live stock guard dog
ReplyDeleteHi Billy! Wish I were there, hope you are enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteHi, Virginia, I'm having a ball
ReplyDeleteWhat would the ten be? I thought this was a done deal a few years ago?
ReplyDeleteThere would. Be a nordic breed group, sight hounds & scent hounds would be separated! And the sporting group would be separated into two groups
DeleteTanner is the top winning Kuvasz in history
ReplyDeletewho is the working judge?
ReplyDeleteBetty Regina Leiniger from Texas
DeleteThanks
DeleteThe first time I stepped in a show ring it waswiththe family's St Bernard
ReplyDeleteThis is the top Sammie in the US
ReplyDeleteNever could have told by Diego's performance tonight that he took such a bad spill. Scarlett looked fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIt was bad enough that it took hima moment together up
DeleteI like the Kuvasz or the Doberman, but the Boxer will be in there
ReplyDeleteTold you not to count out Ricky!
DeleteWhen did Diego fall?
ReplyDeleteDuring the breed judging this morning
DeleteGlad he is ok. Scarlete is beautiful!
DeleteFiFi!
ReplyDeleteI showed a Beardie special in Working when there were 30+ breeds, before they split it into Working and Herding. What a challenge to keep a laid-back dog interested for an hour or so! They were a lot less coaty then, too, lol.
ReplyDeleteI remember those huge groups
DeleteDid Fifi win? Ahhhh, I HATE not seeing it live!
ReplyDeleteFiFi is breeder/owner handled by Jocelyn Mullins
ReplyDeleteJocelyn sent me. An email at 5:00 AM she was so nervous before the breed judging
ReplyDeleteJocelyn is a wonderful sweet person, who so deserves all the winning her and Fif have done. They are a great representative of the breed.
ReplyDeleteOh, yay, Fifi! And Scarlett!
ReplyDeleteOur house is too nervous for Pop Pops! Debating on whether we can watch!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Adam, Eddie and Jim! Make us SFT folk proud!
DeleteHere come our guys, Virginia
ReplyDeleteWHich breed, Grass Valley Guy?? Good Luck, this is always a wonderful group to watch, usually has amazing dogs in it.
ReplyDeleteThe smooth
DeleteMom says my dad is nervous as all get out! Had a three scoop sundae on the way over to calm his nerves!! :)
DeleteI love the smooth and that is a good one. I like his way of calming his nerves :)
ReplyDeleteI love borders!
ReplyDeleteWow, if I had a sundae like that I'd be beyond ill! Jealous much!
ReplyDeleteThis Smooth is one of my picks for tonight
ReplyDeleteCrossing our fingers and everything else!
DeleteAdam just might win the whole thing
ReplyDeleteAgree. It didn't hurt that London and Ally and Eira got knocked out in Breed, either! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAdam vs the Fifinator? LOL! Cool!
ReplyDeleteThe Kerry Blue could be the spoiler
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteDon't forget the Skye!
DeleteWell the BIS lineup sure has a good group, and no doubt the winner from this one will be a really good dog too.
ReplyDeleteAnything can happen ... It's like MCKC. There's almost no predicting it.
ReplyDeleteAny guess on whether he brings them out to spar? That is what terriers do...right?
ReplyDeleteI@'m betting he won@'t because we are on realTV time
DeleteYup! Thinking the same thing!
DeleteDon't think they will do that on TV.
ReplyDeleteOnly because of time constraints
ReplyDeleteWow! Another Grass Valley dog! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteWho? Must be really good grass up there, LOL!
ReplyDeleteSuch a tiny town.....but I think Barbara House had a dog in one of the groups last night! Our local paper is going to be busy talking about these guys!
DeleteI say smooth, a staff, Kerry, & lakeland
ReplyDeleteThat's amstaff
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Billy
ReplyDeleteSmooth,skye,kerry,am staff
ReplyDeleteActually I agree the skye over the lakeland
ReplyDeleteKerry was a spoiler indeed
ReplyDeleteA second at Westminster still ain't bad
ReplyDeleteGood picks, Billy. What's happening, can't stand it!
ReplyDeleteYes! Chelsey.
ReplyDeleteOh well! Great job pop pops! Figured the Kerry and Bill would be tough. Great dogs all around!
ReplyDeleteSO for BIS, I think Capi will win, but I am really pulling for Fifi!
ReplyDeleteOkay! Now for best.....predictions??
ReplyDeleteThey're breaking down the stanchions with the names
ReplyDeleteKerry won? Adam second? Still not up on WKC site
ReplyDeleteI say they go with nostalgia and send Jimmy Moses off with another big win.
ReplyDeleteLit will depend on how they show, but the German Shepherd or the Peke
ReplyDeletePick the peke or dobe for bestdepending on performance!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Emily or FiFi go Best
ReplyDeleteYes but you have Cindy Vogels judging BIS. I'm cheering for Emily but the Kerry may have the edge.
ReplyDeleteAgreed - I'm cheering for Fifi but we shall see!
DeleteThey're all lined up to come in
ReplyDeleteGot home just in time to see the terrier group short list - what a nice group! The Kerry is very nice - wow what a strong group for BIS! I of course am very prejudice - dobermans are my breed - so Fifi has my first vote!
ReplyDeleteAll of them are very nice dogs - I don't think the judge can go wrong no matter what!
Here we go!
That's what they said about Jimmy at AKC... He's always the guy to beat tho. I think Fifi or
ReplyDeleteCindy should like that Kerry!
ReplyDeleteThe dogs are calm in the waiting area, but the handlers are sweating bullets!
ReplyDeleteThey've turned on the spots!
ReplyDeleteI've been rooting for Capi all year. Been there for a couple of Fifi's BIS wins. Emily is lovely- true star quality. Seen Chelsey's wins & Bill & Taffe are my handlers.great choices.
ReplyDeleteEveryone of these dogs have asked for the win
ReplyDeleteMakes it a tuff choice.
ReplyDeleteHow does a Peke ask for the win? I mean.... Really? :-)
ReplyDeleteThe Doxie was amazing
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see Jimmy Moses win for old times sake, but I think Fifi or Chelsey.
ReplyDeleteShe has made up her mind
ReplyDeleteLove the setter but u can't go wrong!
ReplyDeleteIt's the peke
ReplyDeleteThe Peke!, had 50 BIS last year, but none like this
ReplyDeleteWow. I heard she had the peke in a group not too long ago and gave him 3rd.
ReplyDeleteWell, according to AKC's site, she's not approved for the Toy Group, so that's not true.
Deletegood night. Thank you for joining us
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the Peke - they all looked BEAUTIFUL - what a great line up! All of them deserved to be there . . . onward to the rest of the year - until next year - Thank you Westminster Kennel Club for making every year exciting and thanks Billy for this venue - as always - Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to David and Malachy!! Thanks for the forum and keeping us updated Billy!
ReplyDeleteYes, congrats to David and co, nice people. But that sure wouldn't have been my choice!
DeleteThanks Billy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Billy. You've made it so much easier to follow our dogs. I don't know how people survived before you. Not knowing kills me. Have a great year.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to david, always the gentleman Thank god it wasn't that crippled GSD or it would have been another pat on the back for ruining what was a tremendous, functional breed.
ReplyDeleteNext year there will be a reserve Best in Show--that will be interesting; "almost" winning Westminster
ReplyDeleteAnd the trolls come out again.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for David, Malachy and all their connections. Emily made my heart sing! The Dobe delivered the goods. Great line up.
ReplyDelete
