Too bad I'm in the five mile way nosebleed seats. Oh well at least my tv is good.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! Welcome to the Bwest In Show Daily/Dog Show Poop Garden Party. We have lots of surprises to share with you tonight
ReplyDeleteHi, welcome!
ReplyDeleteI just love tonight!Watching from MO.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the Press Box, high above the Garden Floor. It's very dramatic
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Missouri!
ReplyDeleteWe had three of our Top Ten from last year eliminated today.
ReplyDeleteWe're being joined by Pilar Kuh, on of my Best In Show Daily partners
ReplyDeleteVERY high in the press box! Great view, eh Billy?
ReplyDeleteYou got into the press box? Lucky....
ReplyDeletePilarpicked up an AOM today with her Bouvier, Garrison
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone if there is a live feed online anywhere? Unfortunately, work eliminated our cable and I am stuck here until 9!
ReplyDeleteAnd the first commercial showed....
ReplyDeleteI've been looking forward to this! Had so much fun chatting last year, and I know it'll be the same this year. Watching from Michigan, by the way.
ReplyDeleteLiving liker an eagle or a bat in the belfry, I'm not sure which
ReplyDeleteAnd here we go!
ReplyDeleteHer come the Hounds, The big surprise in Hounds today was the winningest Pharaoh Hound in history, GCH cH Northgates aS You Like It, was beaten in the breed.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Hounds have entered :D
ReplyDeletePier 94/95 next year? Really?
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the second year in a row Qing lost the breed.
ReplyDeletecrazy stuff happening today!
ReplyDeleteThis is GCH CH Kiarry's Pandora's Box. This youngster has already won two BIS this year
ReplyDeleteOnline feed... anyone?!? Westminster's keeps taking me to Ridgeback breed judging :(
ReplyDeleteKelly, IL
I feel your pain, I think they may stream the groups from today, tomorrow... If memory serves me right.
DeleteHandler Erin Roberts had three breed wins today, including this Basenji
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, good luck to your favorites :)
ReplyDeleteLovely Basenji. I know she won tons of group placements last year. I'm surprised she hasn't won any Bests yet.
ReplyDeletebesides the schip and gigi, what else did erin have?
ReplyDeleteAn IG
DeleteI don't think there's an online feed of the groups. Just the breed judging highlights.
ReplyDeletei love the american english coonhound!
ReplyDeleteSure beats the other televised dog shows
ReplyDeleteyou got that right!
DeleteVery unfortunate that the only option is to have cable to watch the groups. Guess I'll live vicariously through here and Facebook.
ReplyDeleteMr. D, the other televised dog shows have been filmed earlier, edited, and then televised after the fact. Westminster is the only "live" televised broadcast. Isn't it great seeing all the breeds?
ReplyDeleteHell yea!
DeleteHas everyone herd about the changes in store for nest year?
ReplyDeleteOnce again Westmisnter will allow entries for class dogs, provided they have at least one major.
ReplyDeleteThe piers.......
ReplyDeleteThe Wirehaired Dachshund had such a lovely free stack after her down and back.
ReplyDeleteThey will also increase the entry to 3200 dogs. This year's entry was limited to 2000 because of the construction here at the GFarden.
ReplyDeleteThey will also split the venue. Breed judign wioll be done at the west side piers and only the Group and BIS judging will be done here at the Garden.
ReplyDeleteFantastic group so far, but I think the best is still to come!
ReplyDeleteIt will allow for a lot more room for exhibitors & spectators alike
ReplyDeletedont know how they think everyone will have time to get to the garden in time for groups
ReplyDeleteYes, I heard of the changes, and I did hear that Westminster used to allow class dogs. I've never been to the show, so the only opinion I have really is the one when you know there is change..that it will feel odd lol
ReplyDeleteHi Billy. The best is yet to come.
ReplyDeleteGood Evening, I am here from SC, dont have cable to have to live through hearing from all of you
ReplyDelete14 inch blizzard, enough said.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Chet the same Harrier that won Group 1st at Eukanuba?
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteHe is
DeleteGorgeous Harrier. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that he takes the group.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Mill Valley & SC!
ReplyDeleteHey Billy... know anything about this Wolfhound and why he's getting so much applause around the entire arena?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing.
DeleteThe Irish is a breeder/owner/handler dog.
DeleteThe Irish Wolfhound, GCH Pinehurst Garret, was No. 1 all breed/breed last year and we're all proud of his owner/breeder/handler
DeletePat Trotter has won the Hound Group ten times with her home bred Norwedians
ReplyDeleteThose wolfhounds are large....
ReplyDeleteChet, the harrier, is the same dog that took the group in Orlando.
ReplyDeletego pat trotter!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy friend owns the greyhound, I hate that I cant see him.
ReplyDeleteKris
The PBGV is another huge crowd favorite! Massive applause!!!
ReplyDeleteTexas has that jolly PBGV personality to spare.
DeleteThis Pharaoh Hound won the Breed here last year.
ReplyDeleteThat is a successful breeding program by the sounds of it
ReplyDeleteThe PBGV looked real nice on TV!
ReplyDeletecurt willis rocks!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it will be interesting to see how this turns out because this judge gave the whippet the group last year!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was the #1 Saluki last year with four BIS
ReplyDeleteat eukanaba
ReplyDeletehere goes your group winner
ReplyDeleteChanel is the top winning Whippet of all tiome with 69 BIS
ReplyDeleteIf I had my way, the american foxhound would be first, the wire hair would be second, the whippet would be third and the harrier fourth
ReplyDeleteYay for Jewel, cobred by my Texas friends at Brazos American Foxhounds
DeleteRecently saw ChaCha the Whippet in person at the show here in Atlanta and I must say, she is gorgeous in person. And I just LOVE what they did with her leash! She has a Coco Chanel charm on it..too cute! :D
ReplyDeleteShe is my pick
ReplyDeleteHere comes the cut
ReplyDeleteBut lets see, who has predictions
ReplyDeleteChanel won the Hound group here in 2010.
ReplyDeleteDrumroll please
ReplyDeleteI think Chanel has it in the bag at this point. But I love both the Dachshunds she pulled out.
ReplyDelete13" Beagle, LOnghaired Doxie, Wirehiared Dachshund, Elkhound, PBGV Rhodesian., & Whippet
ReplyDeleteWow! Wirehaired Dachshund!
ReplyDeletewow, I love it
ReplyDeleteYAY CHEESE (Longhair Dachshund)!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW....
ReplyDeleteAnyone else over this dig show?
ReplyDeleteDon't let one unexpected group win ruin the entire show. Each breed winner has the potential to earn a rightful spot as the group winner.
Deletegreat group!
ReplyDeleteWell you got your shelter ad.
ReplyDeleteDog not dig
ReplyDeletechanel didn't show as good as she can!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a bit surprising, but not disappointing by any means! She was gorgeous, and had the personality to match!
ReplyDeleteThe Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Raydachs Playing With Fire V Gleishorbach SW wind the Hound Group
ReplyDeleteThe PBGV, Texas, is second, the Whippet, Chanel, is third, & the Elkhound, Erik is fourth.
ReplyDeletePlacements?!
ReplyDeleteWe've watched upsets all day today, in Pharaoh HOuds, Cardigan & Welsh Corgis, & the biggest surprise, the Standard Poodles.
ReplyDeleteYes, the poodle contest was surprising. What domyou know about the breed winner?
ReplyDeleteI had never seen her before.
DeleteThe big face off to watch ehre is between the Pekingese, Malachy, & the Affenpinscher, Joey.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Classy?
ReplyDeletego monkey go!!!!!
ReplyDeletePug all the way!!
ReplyDeleteTina Fey came out of a very tough line up today
ReplyDeleteThis Cavalier is breeder/owner handled by Pat Kelly
ReplyDeleteLovely expression on the Cavalier.
ReplyDeleteThe Smooth coat Chihuahua, Dee Dee, is also breeder/owner handled. She won the br3eed here last year.
ReplyDeleteI love the gait on this Long Coat Chihuahua.
ReplyDeleteI am using a netbook with a little keyboard tonight. I'm a lousy typist, but not usually this lousy.
ReplyDeleteGo, Dee Dee go!
ReplyDeleteThis Havanese beat a multi BIS winning Havanese to take the breed today.
ReplyDeleteI posted a pic of Dee Dee and Gloria Johnson on our Facebook page yesterday after they won the specialty at the Hotel Pennsylvania!
ReplyDeleteI think this is really the toughest group of the night
ReplyDeletethat havanese was nice
ReplyDeleteI do too!
ReplyDeleteThis Miniature Pinscher is the Number One Toy Dog in the US currently
ReplyDeleteClassie is certainly giving Joey and Malachy a run for their money.
ReplyDeletei'm sorry but that papillons front is incorrect
ReplyDeletelove Classie!
ReplyDeleteIs that a dog or a dust bunny.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever own a Peke, I think I'll name it "Roomba" because that's what they remind me of!
ReplyDeleteHi I show pekes and have a Roomba, Dust Buster and Swiffer and Squeegee. Hehe.. All champions and or Grand CH. LOL!
Deletesuch a pretty face on the peke
ReplyDeleteDiego has done a lot winning with this Pug
ReplyDeleteLove that pug head!
ReplyDeleteThe toy poodle was pretty stunning moving and groomed to perfection. Like her for a piece of the group.
ReplyDeleteIn Europe the Silky Terrier is shown in the Terrier Group
ReplyDeleteLovely pug
ReplyDeleteChase the Shih Tzu, looking gorgeous tonight
ReplyDeletei can't believe the poodle had never been in BOB compeition before today
ReplyDeleteThat's got to be one of the most beautiful coats I've ever seen on a Silky Terrier.
ReplyDeletePicks anyone?
ReplyDeletewhat a little showdog the TFT is!
ReplyDeletePug-Affenpinscher-Peke-Min pin
ReplyDeletePeke aff min pin griff
ReplyDeleteAffenpinscher, MinPin, Englis Toy Spaniel, Griff, Maltese, Toy Manchester, & Silky
ReplyDeleteDamn. Pug was robbed!
ReplyDeleteThe Pug, frankly, is not that good. He is in fantastic condition and handled to perfection - but that doesn't change the underlying structure.
DeleteThis will be hard
ReplyDeleteThis will by far be the toughest group in my opinion.
ReplyDeletePeke, Affenpinscher, Min-Pin, Silky.
ReplyDeletePeke, Affenpinscher, MinPin, & Silky
ReplyDeletegreat group!
ReplyDeleteGCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy repeats his Toy group win from last year
ReplyDeleteGreat Dog!
ReplyDeleteUp comes the Non-Sporting Group, where I had expected one of the two Top Standard Poodles might win BIS, but it's a whole new game.
ReplyDeleteThere was a Smooth Collie placard on the floor by the Lhasa Apso sign, but someone removed it before we're hitting the air. Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing that Standard Poodle that won today!
ReplyDeleteGo Armani (XOLO)
ReplyDeleteThe Bichon is handled by Scott Sommer who has one BIS twice here once with a Bichon and once with a Sussex Spaniel
ReplyDeleteIt'll be interestng to see if the Chinese Shar-Pei repeats her win.
ReplyDeleteThe French Bulldog was one of the largest entries here
ReplyDeleteLooks great for 9 years old.
ReplyDeleteKelli Denton looked really good w/her keeshond. kelli is one of the top junior handlers in the Midwest.
ReplyDeleteI love this lhasa
ReplyDeleteOne of our new breeds the Norwegian Lundehund is on the table... read all about them. http://www.bestinshowdaily.com/blog/2012/02/norwegian-lundehund-means-puffin-dog-2/
ReplyDeleteSugar Baby is the Number One Miniature Poodle and has already won three BIS this year
ReplyDeleteThat Schip looks unbelievable for 10 years old.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that the Chow Chow is co-owned by Martha Stewart, yeah that Martha Stewart.
ReplyDeleteI think the Xolo has a decent chance at placing in the group. He's a multi-BIS winner, and he's not even two years old.
ReplyDeleteThis Xolo is named Georgio Armani. At least the owners have a sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteWell that explains that..The Standard Poodle popped up out of nowhere from Canada as an accomplished show dog there. Fair enough haha
ReplyDeleteArmani is a wonderful dog and such a great one too. I hope he places
ReplyDeleteArmani, the Xolo, has great muscle definition and development.
ReplyDeleteThe cut, the Bichon, the Shar-Pei, the Dal, the Low Chen, the Miniature Poodle, and the Xolo.
ReplyDeleteI just got goosebumps watching the Xolo!
ReplyDeleteIt's the Dal, Ian, followed by the Shar-Pei, the Low Chen, and the Miniature Poodle.
ReplyDeleteThat judge looks like T.R with a ponyatil.
ReplyDeleteYou should look into the eyes of that Xolo, he has a look like he sees into your soul. HE is one awesome
ReplyDeleteFantastic short list. Every single one of them would have been deserving of that group win.
ReplyDeleteIt is too bad there is so much politics involved in dogs shows. The dogs deserve better!
ReplyDeleteI agree that was a nice N/S group.
ReplyDeleteNow I predict the GSD, Capi will have this group.
Jimy, the most successful handler of alltime with more than 1000 BIS, is rumored to be retiring after this show.
DeleteA really great Cattler Dog, Brick!
ReplyDeleteCapi has been my pick for this group since I saw him in his first U.S. show last year.
ReplyDeleteI recently saw Aster win the Group in Atlanta, beating out Capi, and she's just beautiful..I'm going for Aster. But I'm not counting out Capi's good chances of winning.
ReplyDeletethat is probably the best i've ever seen the border collie show
ReplyDeleteThis is the first Briard I have seen with drop ears
ReplyDeleteGorgeous B order.
ReplyDeletethat might be the best front i've ever seen on a cardigan corgi
ReplyDeleteStriking facial markings on the Corgi. He also seems to have quite the personality!
ReplyDeleteAny favorites?
ReplyDeleteOut of the dogs that have gone so far, I think the Bouvier has a bit of an edge.
DeleteBoth Capi & Jimmy get a rousing reception
ReplyDeletejimmy should have started over!
ReplyDeletejackie's suti is crazy!
ReplyDeleteI Like the GSD, the Puli, The Bouvier, & the Cattle.
ReplyDeleteThe tone of this year's comments has been so much better than last year's. i really appreciate y'all. It was a downer last year, especially all the snide remarks during the terrier group Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHe pulls, the Aussie, the Bouvier, the rough Collie, the GSD, the Old English, the Pulis, & the Sheltie.
ReplyDeleteIt'sd the GSD, GCH CH Babheim's Captain Crunch, followed by the Bouvier, OES, & the Sheltie
ReplyDeleteJoin us again tomorrow at 8:00 PM EST for the Terrier Group, the Sporting Group, the Working Group, & BIS! Goodnight everyone.
ReplyDeleteYes, Thanks for doing this! Looking forward to tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteziggy threw up!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to tomorrow! So excited to see what happens with the poodles Breed), if the cocker can get through. Don't forget the fox terrier battle between the smooth and wire. so much to look forward tooI
ReplyDeleteWhen are standard poodles? That is a breed worth tuning in for? Do we know if Timmy or Taffee will be showing?
ReplyDeletePoodles were already shown today. A Poodle from Canada won the breed.
ReplyDeleteNice line up so far - surprised at some, not with others. Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's groups and BIS. Enjoyed this commentary - didn't post this year - fighting a head cold and watched from my couch corner! Definitely think Cappy looked great with Jim Moses so we will see what happens tomorrow - night all!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thestatecolumn.com/articles/2012/02/13/dog-lovers-to-protest-mitt-romney-at-westminster-dog-show/
ReplyDeleteNow this has gone really political (rolls eyes).
