Our last stop of the weekend is in Canby OR where the Clackamas Kennel Club offered us two super sized shows. On Saturday Monica Canestrini saw the seven best of almost 1900 dogs entered. They were the Irish Setter, CH Kaerdon's Just Tickled Pink, the Saluki, CH Carmas Indian Summer, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Taplacs Invincible Vinny RN, the American Staffordshire Terrier, CH Alpine's Highwayman, the Long Coat Chihuahua, CH Dragon Lair Wildrose Mojo Risin, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH R-Lee Ticket To U Got The Look, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH PaRay Cirque Du Soleil. It was the smallest dog getting the biggest win of the weekend, the Chihuahua, Mojo. it’s the first BIS of the year for Mojo and owner/handler Christy Marley. Mojo was bred by Melissa Vannoy and is co-owned by K Garret. Congratulations to them all.
Sunday Only the Sheltie, Cirque, would make it back to see BIS judge Janis Mercer. Joining Cirque were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Markann-N-KK's Charlotte's Winning Web, the Whippet CH Starline’s Chanel, the Rottweiler, CH Cammcastle's Kore Elements CGC, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Trugrip One Singular Sensation, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Full Of Malarkey Miles Of Aisles, and the Boston Terrier, CH Oui's Midnight Maverick. It would be the US’ Number One Hound, the Whippet, Chanel, Cha Cha to her close friends, tieing the record for most BIS by a Whippet Bitch, at 21. The win puts Chanel just a breath behind the N umber Five Dog All Breeds.
