We just heard that the country’s top winning English Setter, CH Reidwood Red Alert, has taken home the BIS trophy from today’s Cheshire Kennel Club in Keene NH. This is number two this year for Navy. Congratulations to breeders Nancy E Warner & Clifford & Iris Reid, owner Georgette Perry, and handler Candy Carswell.

Crab Orchard Illinois...A star is born!! Move-up from the classes, Golden Retriever, "Owling's Designed By Signature," goes BIS BOTH days! Toy was Boo, the Pug. Sunday's Terrier was the Wire Smyewire Make My Day. I forget the rest. the Golden was something else!
ReplyDeleteAlthough Navy has a fantastic show record this year, he is not the country's top winning English Setter. In the latest statistics, in all systems, the #1 English setter is CH. Artizoe High Caliber.
ReplyDeleteI will be the first to admit that these are two incredible examples of the English Setter and I'm glad that they are on opposite coasts so the public gets to see both win.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what you mean by the latest statistics. I like to think we have the latest statistics. Through today, I have Navy and Hector with the same number of BIS, but Navy has more group 1's, more group 2's, more group 3's, more group 4's, and more BOBs and that's my system.
According to traditional and printed statistics based on breed points and all-breed points, Hector is #1 all systems
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm not going to debate this one further. Hector and Navy are both "top winning". I'm delighted that we have two wonderful English Setters and more of the public can appreciate this wonderful breed.
