We told you how competitive the field was in Kansas City, but we haven’t talked about the entry in West Springfield MA. Today’s Newton Kennel Club saw a final seven that had to fight their way past tough group competition to get a chance to see BIS judge Myriam Vermeire.
The Irish Setter, CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed left the nation’s number 15 dog all breeds and Thursday BIS winner, the Labrador Retriever, CH Casbar’s Hart to Hart, back in the Sporting Group, while the Irish Terrier, CH Fleet St Fenway Fan had to get past the country’s number 25 dog all breeds, the Sealyham Terrier, CH Efbe’s Merci Pour Le Poivre, in the Terrier Group. They were joined in the final ring by fellow top 25 dogs, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash Jp Moon Walk, the Bulldog, CH Kepley’s Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins. Rounding out the final were the Scottish Deerhound, CH Gayleward’s Jaralv Nike, and the Rottweiler, Blackrocks Kazanova.
The Toy Poodle, Walker, one of our original DOGS2WATCH, picked up his second Best In Show of the weekend. Walker is the current number one Toy Dog in the US .
