SHOWS EVERYWHERE

It’s Wednesday and that means a look at our coming weekend of shows. We have more shows to look forward to this weekend than last, but only by a few.

Abraham Lincoln, 1809-1865

In Region One, the Northeast Region, we have two sites and four shows. In New England we have a one night stand on Saturday with the Providence County Kennel Club hosting one show in Lincoln RI (We always wondered how a state founded two centuries before our 16th President’s administration came to name a town after him)

Bob Jones University
Greenville South Carolina

Out on the western edge of Region One, in Bloomsburg PA, the Lakawanna Kennel Club and the BaldEagle Kennel Club of Williamsport PA will join forces to stage three shows Friday through Sunday. Idle last weekend, Region Two, the Southeast Region will have a three day weekend starting Friday in Greenville SC courtesy of the Spartanburg, Hendersonville, and Greenville Kennel Clubs.

Wisconsin Cheesehead

For those with more time on their hands, there are four day stops in Region Three the Great Lakes Region. In Marion OH, the Dan Emmett and Marion Ohio Kennel Clubs will each hold two shows starting Friday. You can also do four shows in Region Four, the North Central Region, though you will have to move a bit. Saturday and Sunday the Waukesha Kennel Club will hold two shows in Waukesha WI. Then, Monday and Tuesday, the Burlington Wisconsin Kennel Club will post a pair in Elkhorn WI, 33 miles to the southwest.

Dungeness Spit, Sequim Washington

Regions Five, Six, & Seven (the South Central, Northwest, & Southwest Regions) all will be represented by traditional two day weekends. In Texas, it the Longview Kennel Club in Longview; in Washington, it’s the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club Of Washington (You know they don’t have hurricanes in the Pacific) in Sequim; and in California, it’s the Lompac Valley Kennel Club in Lompoc. So you have at least two chances to visit an AKC dog show in your region this weekend. What you waiting for?

  1. The Easter Harrisburg shows will be airing on Animal Planet Saturday night. So even if you aren't going to a show you can watch one on tv!
