Our Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect, has spent much of the year thrilling fanciers as he doggedly pursues the Number One Dog. It seems that no matter how much the leader raises the stakes, the OES, Swagger, answers the call. While Number One was sweeping the five shows in Salem VA, Swagger was doing the same at the four larger entry shows in Canfield OH.

Judge Mareth Kipp gave Swagger the first big rosette of the stop at Thursday’s Fort Steuben Kennel Association show. The reserve ribbon went to the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan’s To Russia with Love, while the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Torquay Midnight Victory, the Boxer, GCH CH Brisbane N Blue Monday’s Diamonds Are Decadent, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country’s Tag I’m It, and the Chow Chow, GCH CH Milin’s Emerson Tappin On The Bay CGC, looked on.

Also asking for consideration were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Evergreen Good Intentions, the 15: Beagle, GCH CH Tashtin’s Lookin for Trouble, the Samoyed, GCH CH Pebbles Run Play It Again Ham, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, and the previously seen Pug.

Staying to the end were the Pointer, Chesterhope My Boy’s Girl, the RBIS, Saturday’s 15” Beagle, the returning Sammie, Welsh Terrier, Chow, and the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Kimro n Spiva Super Trooper. Swagger starts the week with 53 BIS and 93 Herding Groups in just seven months this year.
