This week is a remarkably slow one in the dog show world with just four sites providing all breed action and only one offering more than a traditional two day weekend. So it is not surprising that the Fiesta Cluster in Scottsdale AZ entries average over 2000 dogs a day. All those points were sure to draw the sport’s biggest names and Friday’s final did not disappoint.

The seven dogs seeking judge Cindy Vogel’s favor were the Irish Setter, CH Militza’s My Cherie Amour, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M&M's Fear The Beard, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Impression de Matisse, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH AbsolutelyTalk Of The Town, the Pomeranian, CH Hitimes What The Inferno, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH R-Lee Sparkle Plenty, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.
Once again, the dog show going public was treated to a faceoff between the country’s Top Two Dogs All Breeds, the PWD, Matisse, and the OES, Swagger. Friday it was the Portie taking the points and the Sheepdog getting the runner up spot. It was Matisse’s 19th BIS in 23 final tries this year. Looks like Arizona will be hotter than usual this weekend.
