Saturday’s Kennel Club of Palm Springs show in Indio CA was
significant for a several reasons. One,
with almost 3500 dogs entered, it will be one of the largest if not the largest
single shows of the year. Two, Saturday’s
Best In Show winner, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture
Perfect, has raised his visibility immeasurably going into next month’s
Westminster Kennel Club show. Three, the
Reserve Best In Show winner, the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Everyday Magic
Of Maryscot, the daughter of 2009’s Number One Dog All Breeds, CH Roundtown
Mercedes Of Maryscot, makes a splashy debut on the arm of the man who piloted
her mother to wins at the 2009 AKC/Eukanuba
National Championship and the 2010 Westminster Kennel Club show, handler
Gabriel Rangel.
CH Roundtown Everyday Magic Of Maryscot
Joining the OEs, Swagger, and the Scottie, Magic, in judge
James Reynolds’ final were the Clumber Spaniel, CH Clussexx Over The Legal
Limit, the Basenji, GCH CH Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH
CH Peace River Silverice Summer Solstice, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Yarrow’s
Hi-Tech Ben There Done That, and the Shiba Inu, CH Dragon House Mr Jones.
Swagger finished 2013 as the Number One Herding Dog and the
Number Ten Dog All Breeds with 23 BIS in 56 final appearances. We suspect he will improve upon that this
year. Congratulations to
breeder/owner/handler Colton Johnson, fellow breeder/owners Heather Johnson, Douglas
& Michaelanne Johnson, and owners Ron Scott & Debbie Burke.
