GCH CH Wolf Creek’s Galaxy of Merivern
When last we visited the Badger State, fanciers were in
South Milwaukee WI for the Cudahy Kennel Club’s opener on Friday. Saturday at the CKC’s day two show the seven
who made it all the way to Lydia Coleman Hutchinson’s final were the Gordon
Setter, GCH CH Buteo’s Midnight Silence, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix
Reloaded, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Border
Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Pants on Fire, the Papillon, GCH CH Wingssong Here
We Go Again, the Bulldog, GCH CH Mytoys Epic Against the Wind, and the German
Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek’s Galaxy of Merivern.
Her BIS was the GSD, Galaxy, and her RBIS, the Border
Terrier, Cinder. Galaxy, the country’s
Number One German Shepherd Dog and Number Three Herding Dog, now has nine BIS
and 41 Herding Groups.
GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare
After Sunday’s final, the last of the exhibitors packed up
and joined the rest of the crowd in Racine WI for the greater Racine Kennel
Club’s two shows. On Sunday Galaxy and the
above named Afghan & Giant would be joined in judge Randy Garren’s final by
the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Nexus Total Eclipse, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Huntwood’s
Command Performance Of Tobylynn, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic
Red Glare, and the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Overtops And the Winner Is.
He would choose the country’s Number Three Dog All Breeds,
the MinPin, Classie, for his Best In Show and Galaxy, the GSD, as his
Reserve. Classie is trying hard to keep
pace with the Top Two Dogs by collecting her 42nd BIS of the year.
GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Mattise
The GRKC extended the weekend into Monday with judge Dennis
McCoy in the final ring. Staying to the
very end were the English Setter, GCH CH Aerden’s Pretty in Pink JH, the
American Foxhound, GCH CH Dunstan’s Tucker, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH
Claircreek’s Impression de Mattise, and the previously mentioned Airedale,
MinPin, Bichon, & GSD. The MinPin,
Classie, would collect a Reserve ribbon to go with the prior day’s BIS rosette
and the Portie, Matisse, would make it four for four this week with his 53rd
BIS of the season, The win puts Matisse, currnetly Number Two,
about 360 points closer to Number One.
Looks like we might have an interesting final quarter.
GSDs are a breed I seldom look at. I don't follow the stats or breeds in the herding group. We first saw this GSD at shows in IA. This dog is very beautiful. Shown without the benefit of double-handling, he does it all himself. His head is probably too old school for some judges, but his powerful driving movement is outstanding. He is a dog your eye goes to in a lineup. Congratulations on another great win.
