We had several new faces emerge at yesterday’s Gold Country Kennel Club show in Grass Valley CA.  Raymond Bay’s special seven were the Weimaraner, CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, the Boxer, GCH CH Duba Dae’s Who’s Your Daddy, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Surefyre's Benny And The Jets RN JE, the Pekingese, CH Pequest one Moment In Time, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bayhill Celebrate!, and the Australian Cattle Dog, CH Carben Copy’s If The Shoe Fits.  Best in Show went to the Border Terrier, Benny, his first.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Constance & William Bartlett and handler Andrew Peel.

  1. Andrew Peel who does most of the grooming and showed this dog brought it to BIS. He deserves the credit, but as usual Woody get its:(

  2. Hey Mr/Ms Anonymous - don't get too upity about this ... Billy likely did not know that Andrew showed Benny to this Best - Wood is listed in the catalog as the handler (since the contract is usually done with Wood).
SO - CONGRATULATIONS to Andrew Peel - and the whole Wornall Team -- as those of us that have had dogs with them know that it is never just one person ... it's their team that conditions the dogs, prepares them and gets them to their rings on time and presents them beautifully! But, I must admit, Andrew does a fantastic job as part of that team, and I personally, am very grateful for that :-)

  3. Darwyn, We all know you use the team, but I wasn't being "upity" when I suggested Andrew needed to be acknowledged. I too. have been around and heard, seen, and know what goes on and some of the games played by certain players. Some people call it bS. Anyhow it's not about the team in this certain instance and you know it.

  4. I didn't take anonymous's post as being upity. I think they were just trying to point out that some of the behind the scenes people work as hard or harder to bring these dogs to their best.
A lot of us have dogs with professional handlers and to the groomers we acknowledge them with their names in adds or added gratuities or gifts.

  5. Upity? I think anonymous was just pointing out the facts. This was no reflection on Billy. Glad you like your team Darwin. Most of us understand about contracts and names.
