BRITTANY BEST IN CALIFORNIA

GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome 

It doesn’t get much more dog show perfect than beautiful Carmel CA, site of today’s Del Monte Kennel Club show. Judge Dorothy Madonald chose her top two from the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Irish Terrier, GCH CH Rockledge McAllen of Meath, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Quail Garden Loch Lomond Déjà vu, the Keeshond, GCH CH Skyline's Unit Of Measure, and the Puli, Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay’s Preferential.

Going to the head of the line were the Brittany, Beckett, and the Cavalier, DJ. Beckett is the country’s Number One Sporting Dog and the Number Four Dog All Breeds with 12 BIS and 43 Sporting Groups.

Our next stop is Madison OH where the Ashtabula Kennel Club had the coveted Saturday spot. Today’s seven finalists were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Evergreen Good Intentions, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Boxer, GCH CH Brisbane "N" Blue Monday's Diamonds Are Decadent, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Appassionato Jp Monamour's Star, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Gdm Zenyatta At Lakeside, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH ByRequest Bon Mot, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Overland Deal Me In.

Judge John Wades BIS was the Whippet, Brazen, and his RBIS was the Standard Poodle, B Ro. Brazen is the nation’s Number One Whippet and Number Four Hound with seven BIS and 36 Hound groups.

IRISH SETTER BEST IN FLORIDA

GCH CH Militza’s My Cherie Amour 

Judge Carol Beattie named the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza’s My Cherie Amour, her Best In Show today at the Jupiter-Tequesta Dog Club show in West Palm Beach FL. She also liked the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, whom she name her Reserve Best In Show. Rounding out her seven were the Longhaired Dachshund, Kenmar’s Passport to Scanpoint, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen's Jose Cuervo V Eastwood, the Yorkshire Terrier, GCH CH Trio’s Big Shot, the Standard Poodle, CH Piccadilly's Aurora's Maid Of Honour, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wonderland’s Force of Nature.

Adele is the nation’s Number One Irish Setter and Number 13 Sporting Dog with four BIS and 22 Sporting Groups.

Woodstock VA is the site of the Shawnee Kennel Club’s two shows this weekend. Today’s final was in the hands of judge Jay Richardson. The seven dogs hoping to gain his favor were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Doc's Greyborn North Star Of Acadia, the Basenji, GCH CH Tammen’s Defying Gravity, the Great Dane, GCH GHDD Seamus Lord of the Dance, the Glen of Imaal Terrier, GCH CH Rainbow Springs Wicklow’s Warrior Of Ber-D-Mar, the Yorkshire Terrier, CH Paddington’s Set Me Free, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Arkeden N Kiskades Havin A Ball, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Acadia Stage Presence.

Judge Robert Schreve was in Tunbridge VT today to name a BIS and RBIS for the Green Mountain Dog Club. His options were the English Setter, GCH CH Weymouths En Fuego, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH DC Hallam's Jake Of Arolet SC, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Shadrack’s My Heart’s Darling CGC, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Br'Er Fox Philippa Of Hunterston , the Silky Terrier, GCH CH Dorien Dancin' On A Breeze, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Luminary Black Velvet Bejeweled With Pearls, and the Bearded Collie, CH Dreamchaser Strathearn Soulmate.

Finishing one/two were the Setter, Blaze, and the Pharaoh Hound, Jake. It’s the eighth BIS in 34 final appearances this season for Blaze and handler Katie Shepard.

We spent the day in Southaven MS at the Greater Shelby Kennel Club show, about 12 minutes from our home here in Memphis TN. Judge Roger Hartinger had seven superlative dogs from which to choose a BIS and RBIS. They were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the Saluki, GCH CH Starlites Made Of The Best Stuff On Earth BN RN JC, the Mastiff, GCH CH Goldleaf's Trouble Coming CGC, the Glen of Imaal Terrier, GCH CH Finnabair Ardmore Ned, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Zen's Cirque du Soleil, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Woodsides Megabucks. 

GCH CH Telltale American Ride 

He chose the Poodle, Flame as his Best and the Springer, Randy, as his Reserve. It was the third straight BIS of the weekend for Flame and handler Sarah Perchick and their 27th in 72 trips to the final ring this year.

Our Midwest action is in Belvidere IL this week where the Blackhawk Kennel Club opened the three day weekend on Friday. The seven dogs braving fierce competition at the breed and group level to make it to judge Peggy Lloyd’s final were the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Over The Legal Limit, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Dal Primo Magic Moment CGC, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J'Cobe Broxden Shark Dressed Man, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Déjàvu I Want'a Talk About Me, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Barnstorm To-Jo BEn Wicked @ Adominos By Dzine, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus' Rumor Has It V Kenlyn.

Best went to the Smooth Fox, Bruce, and Reserve went to the Clumber, Hobson. It was the first BIS of the year for Bruce and breeder/owner/handler Amy Booth. Congratulations to Amy, breeder/owner Phil Booth, co-breeders Carol Hurley & William Dalling, and owner Victor Malzoni.

 Judge Anne Bolus was in Marshall MI Friday to call the BIS for the Holland Michigan Kennel Club. The seven hoping to get the nod were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Docs Crosswinds Absolut Ten of Acadia, the American Foxhound, CH Devlon's American Trilogy, the Samoyed, GCH CH White Eagles The Sky’s The Limit For Alpineglo, the Russell Terrier, Baylock Heart Of Fire, the Havanese, GCH CH Qbin's Strictly Confidential At Enginuity, the Bulldog, GCH CH Mouser’s Royal Regent, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv’s Sultry Sensation.

Her BIS was the Havanese and her RBIS was the Samoyed. It was the first of the year for Darby and owner/handler Alissa Welling. Congratulations to Alissa, breeder Candy Gaudry and owner Arlene Liebing.

The Grand River Kennel Club kicked off the three day weekend in Madison OH, putting judge Barbara Pepper in the final ring. Joining her were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Stoneypoints Time To Reign, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessners International S’Cess, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Dynastys Husky Lucky Strike, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid Of Honor, the Toy Manchester Terrier, GCH CH Cottage Lakes Our Lady Of Fatima, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH ByRequest Bon Mot, and the Rough Collie, CH Overland Deal Me In.

Finishing one/two were the Bloodhound, Nathan, and the Husky, Lucky. Nathan is the nation’s Number One Hound and Number Ten Dog All Breeds with 13 BIS and 41 Hound Groups.

 Friday was day two for the Woodstock Dog Club in Tunbridge VT and they asked judge Fred Bassett to choose their BIS and RBIS. His options were the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Sandpipers Castles In The Air, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen , GCH CH Laceys Deck Plate Leader, the Samoyed, GCH CH Pebbles Run Play It Again Ham, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country’s Tag I’m It, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Luminary Black Velvet Bejeweled With Pearls, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Signatures Harry Nile V Kridler.
