WE HAVE WISCONSIN RESULTS

Wisconsin has checked in with this weekend’s show results. It started in Waukesha on Saturday with Greg Caliendo judging the final seven. They were the Irish Water Spaniel, CH Saracen Blue Thunder On The Marsh CD JH, the Basset Hound, CH Topfield-Sanchu American Express, the Great Pyrenees, CH Tip’N’Chip’s Clipper Young America, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Cornerstone Soliloquy, the Miniature Pinscher, CH Kimro’s Soldier Boy, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Cedar & Barnstorm’s Ltd Edition, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Pettibone Little Big Man.

CH Cornerstone Soliloquy

BIS on Day One of the Waukesha Kennel Club went to the number one (highest scoring) Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the US, Piper. She remains the only one of her breed to win an all breed BIS this year.

CH Ab-Rafiki the Icon Of Cool

Day Two was in the hands of Garfield Franklin Van Der Spuy of South Africa. His BIS candidates included only one of the prior day’s seven, the Great Pyrenees. The others were the Spinoni Italiano, Sharpshot Aris, the Basenji, CH Ab-Rafiki the Icon Of Cool, the Border Terrier, CH Devon Lady Semper Fi, the Long Coat Shihuahua, CH Jocal Dancing With The Stars, the Standard Poodle, CH Bar-None Dawin Travelin’ Man, and the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, CH Sasquehanna Malinnik Ponadto.

The five year old Great Pyrenees was awarded for his perseverance with his first BIS this year. Congratulations to breeder/owner Judith Cooper and co-owner Tali Mahaner.

CH Velocity's Shake Ur Bon Bon

Monday, the whole crew moved to Elkhorn WI for the Burlington Wisconsin Kennel Club’s two day party. They kicked it off with Dr Robert Smith. He saw the Irish Setter, CH Vineyard’s Bad Boy, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Paradigm Aariel’s Entourage RA CD, the Siberian Husky, CH Antara’s Put On The Red Light, Saturday’s BIS winner, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Piper, the Pomeranian, CH Velocity’s Shake Ur Bon Bon, the Dalmatian, CH Rockstar All Around Road Trip, and Saturday Finalist, the OES.

Girls just want to have fun and so, the Staff Bully, ran away with her second BIS of the weekend, her fifth this year, putting her in the record books as the winningest Stafford Bull Terrier of all time. Check back with us later for today’s results from this locale.

THE DROUGHT IS OVER

After a couple of slow weekends, we are back to dog show gluttony. The most hardcore exhibitors will find enough dog show action this week to fill the most exhibitionist appetites. The competition starts Wednesday in Salem VA where the James River, Roanoke, and New River Valley Kennel Clubs will join forces to produce five shows.

Windmills near Bismarck ND

There is a four day stop beginning Thursday in Canfield OH hosted by the Fort Steuben Kennel Association and the Columbiana County, Beaver County, & Mahoning-Shenango Kennel Clubs. Also staging four day weekends are the Jaxon, Berrien, & Sturgis Kennel Clubs in Marshall MI and the Bismarck Kennel Club who goes it alone for four days in Bismarck ND.

Lake Pontchartrain near Kenner LA

The only three day weekend (Friday -Sunday) this week is in Kennel LA courtesy of the Louisiana and Metarie Kennel Clubs. Traditional two day fare is on the menu in La Crosse WI (the Coulee Kennel Club) and in Dixon CA (the Richmond Dog Fanciers Club). Finally, there is the Northeast Region’s Weekend With Options. You start on Saturday in Greenfield MA with the Pioneer Valley Kennel Club. Then you have your choice of heading to Keene NH for Sunday with the Cheshire Kennel Club or to Ringoes NJ to party with the Hunterdon Hills Kennel Club.

Wherever you go you will see beautiful dogs and meet lovely people for it is an AKC dog show.

MONDAY IN MARION

Some people are still enjoying their weekend. It was day two at the Marion Ohio Kennel Club.

CH Ripsnorter’s Mt View Lookout

Today Ellen Fetter had the BIS hat. Asking for the top prize was the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Ripsnorter’s Mt View Lookout, the Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen, CH Rokeena Carte Blanche, Sunday’s BIS winner, the Alaskan Malamute, CH North Face Sno Klassic Glory Days, the Irish Terrier, CH Breezy's X-Tra Top Priority, the Havanese, CH Qbin's Happy Feet At Enginuity, the Standard Poodle, CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovley, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Quiche's Demetrius.

It was the US' number two Sporting Dog, the GWP, Scout picking up the big rosette. Last week we had Scout as the number twelve dog all breeds. Will he make it into the top ten? You will read it here first. Look for our updated rankings tomorrow.

LOMPOC VALLEY RESULTS

Finally, we come to Lompoc CA where it was the Lompoc Valley Kennel Club posting two shows this weekend. We gave you a glimpse of the results when we told you that the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Warfox Double Dare, went BIS on Saturday.

On hand to watch were the Flat-Coated Retriever, CH Starworker's Dealers Choice JH, OA, OAJ, the Afghan Hound, CH Pamelons Late Nite Of Cavu, the Mastiff, CH Southports Ulysses S Grant, the Brussels Griffon, CH Cashin' Walk The Line, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Ashante’s I Am The Starlight, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, CH Lady Tuckaway Of Camelot.

Sunday, Elliott Weiss had BIS duty and the same Mastiff, Smooth Fox, as well as the Irish Setter, CH Windrose I've Got A Secret, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Pupukearidge Ikaika O Sprngvly, the Italian Greyhound, CH KC’s Shake Your Groove Thing, the Miniature Poodle, CH Durandel Fashionista, and the Border Collie, CH Majestic Avatar Storm Warning PT.

It was the nation’s number one Mastiff, Grant, taking home the top prize, his first this year. Grant was bred by Joe & Carla Sanchez, who co-own Grant with Dani Sanchez. Grant is handled by Taffe McFadden. Bravo to them all.

WASHINGTON STATE RESULTS

Up in Washington State the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club Of Washington staged their two shows in the town of Sequim WA.

Sunday, Cindy Vogels, BIS bunch was comprised of the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, CH Wyncliff's Wanna Be Loved By U, the Basenji, CH Platinum's Adrenaline Rush, the Boxer, CH Duba Dae's Who's Your Daddy, the only Saturday finalist, the Kerry Blue, Paris, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, CH Cheri-A Wingo Lord Nelson, the French Bulldog, CH Gypsy Canyon Dom Pierre, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Paray Cirque Du Soleil.

It was the Welsh born, former east coast resident, the Kerry Blue, Paris, winning her first BIS this year. Congratulations to breeder Phil Davies (of the UK), owner Don Gau (of Hawaii), and handler Bill McFadden (of California). Love the international flair of the dog game today.

The Longview (TX) Kennel Club hosted a pair of shows in their hometown Saturday and Sunday.

BIS went to the Doxie, her first this year. Congratulations to breeder Diana Rockwell, owner Shirley Ray, and handler Cheri J Koppenhaver.

Sunday it was Dr Anthony DiNardo making the top selection. His finalists were Saturday’s BIS winner, the Wire Dachshund, Saturday finalist, the Lhasa, Buzz, the Pointer, CH Penpoint In Dress Blues, the Newfoundland, CH Bifrost's Gust O' Boradaile, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Everglory's The Sultan Of Swat, the Pekingese, CH Franshaw Hear Me Roar, and the Rough Collie, CH Sylvan Argent Simply Irresistible.

It was Buzz, the Lhasa, continuing the hot streak he started just three short weeks ago. Don’t you just love it when all the doggy planets align themselves?

TIBETAN TWOFER

We are a bit behind with our show reports today. AKC posted results lateR than usual and we thought we would use our down time efficiently to confirm our reservations for Montgomery County in October. Big mistake. However, we shall postpone our rant against Yahoo Travel for now so we can bring you this weekend’s show report.

CH Wassong’s Djebel Of Lollipop

We had three shows in Bloomsburg PA this weekend. As has often been the case this season, it was a small, elegant affair with average quantity and well above average quality. Friday, it was day one of the Lackawanna Kennel Club with Stephen Hubbell calling the BIS. His seven were the Irish Setter, CH Marlyn All About Magic, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, CH Celestial’s CJ’S Hearts On Fire, the Siberian Husky, CH Topaz Sugarland, the Scottish Terrier, CH Blueberry’s Surely You Jest, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, CH Southdown Nonetheless, the Tibetan Spaniel, CH Wassong’s Djebel Of Lollipop, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

BIS went to the Tibetan Spaniel, Djebel. It was the first BIS this year for the country's number one Tibetan Spaniel. Congratulations to breeders Patricia C Sarles,M Cosby Driskill & P Kolly-Baden, owners Patricia C Sarles & Kevin F Wassong, and handler Ernesto Lara.

CH Phillmar Sobe Monster

We did give you all the results from Saturday’s encore by the Lakawanna KC. However, Sunday was the Bald Eagle Kennel Club Of Williamsport PA’s and Mark McMillan’s turn to choose a Best In Show. Their candidates were the Labrador Retriever, CH Casbar’s Hart To Hart, the Afghan Hound, CH Shenandoah Smoke And Mirrors, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Phillmar Sobe Monster, the Airedale Terrier, CH Stirling Cool Hand Luke, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash Jp Moonwalk, and Friday’s and Saturday’s BIS winners, the Tibetan Spaniel, Djebel, and Bearded Collie, Roy.

And it was another curtain call for the Djebel, who obviously likes the limelight.

GREENVILLE KC RESULTS

The Greenville Kennel Club was the third show this weekend in the home town of Bob Jones University. (We are surprised the blue laws allow dog shows on a Sunday)

CH Lin-Lee’s For The Good Times

Nonetheless, with almost 2700 entries, this was a major stop on the AKC calendar. Norman Patton had the difficult task of choosing a Best In Show from Friday’s BIS winner, the Labrador Retriever, CH Robnie’s Chantilly At Lighthouse, the Afghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado, the Boxer, CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Skye Terrier, CH Buddy Goodman, the Pekingese, CH Lin-Lee’s For The Good Times, the Bulldog, CH Impressive Oliver, and the Puli, CH Cordmaker Field Of Dreams.

BIS went to the country’s highest scoring Peke. We have two amazingly nice Pekes this year who keep swapping the lead in the breed. We hope we get to see them both in the ring together before the year is over.

RHODE ISLAND RESULTS

We start our Monday morning quarterbacking in New England at Saturday’s Providence Kennel Club show in Lincoln RI.

CH Fuzzy Farm Devil Made Me Do It

Thomas Baldwin got the BIS call to see the Golden Retriever, CH Mariner Jewell Of Casco Bay, the Petiti Basset Griffon Vendeen, CH Monkhams Famous Grouse, a Bernese Mountain Dog from the classes, Tennescott White Mtns Ripley Falls CD RA, the Irish Terrier, CH Fleet St Fenway Fan, the Havanese, CH Fuzzy Farm Devil Made Me Do It, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Firetown’s Out Of The Blue, and the Old English Sheepdog, Deja Blu Deal Me In.

BIS went to the Havanese, Sweetpea. We don’t see this guy much, but when we do, he makes an impression. This is Sweetpea’s second BIS in the last five weeks. More importantly, it's his fourth career best, the most ever by a Havanese. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Alice Lawrence.

MARION OHIO DAY THREE

They’ve packed up the rings at the Marion Ohio Kennel Club show today and we have this late report.

CH North Face Sno Klassic Glory Days

Robert Fetter had the last ring of the weekend there. His final included yesterday’s BIS winner, the English Springer Spaniel, CH Cerise Jesse James, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Of Afrikka Spring Valley Dorian Gray JC, the Alaskan Malamute, CH North Face Sno Klassic Glory Days, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Shih Tzu, CH Xeralane’s Face The Music, the Standard Poodle, CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely, and the Smooth Collie, CH Chrysalis Ginger Snaps.

Best In Show went to the Malamute, Beepers. It’s the first BIS and first Group One this year for the five year old dog. Congratulations to breeder Robert J Roffey and owners Patricia & Martin Peel.
